nah, VOIP we can only hear in game, and only those close to us, otherwise it would be crap if more than 10 people are using the VOIP at the same time and we are hearing it all XD its annoying enough when people in the lobby start singing.... we can only see everything you type =P if someone is using VOIP and being racist or rude then it will have to be reported ^^

as an admin you can see what everyones typing on the server or in the lobby sometimes people will get into arguments, or someone might get shot, die, rage and call everyone shitcunts. its happened before :) and as an admin, you kick people who start using language like this. i dont mind the fuck you die language but once you really get into it and start calling people niggers or something or keep on being immature like a certain SASR TOM who was once in my server then you get kicked =]

oh yeah guys im recruiting an admin from our group, jaques is already one, but i need one more to monitor the server when i can't as ill be heading back to England soon =( just inbox me here in the forums, someone ready for that tiny responsibility to admin and make sure hackers stay out, language is clean and the ping stays below 150 =P (also someone who is from our group, and i chat to on steam from time to time :P )

sounds like a hacker in a good mood to me i stumbled upon something very similar except the hacker teleported to my locaion whispered over VOIP that this song was dedicated to me "ID tags were off in the server" and started to hunt me down like an animal for fun, he kept whispering things like "hiding behind that rock isnt a very good idea" and start lobbing grenades closeby lol.... you get all kinds of hackers, most of them just want to destroy but some want to be godlike.

I dont know why most people just outright say no without at least thinking about things, one of the many things wrong with society nowadays. its a suggestion, we can help construct or destruct it, a flat out "no" helps no one. I think the zombie system in place right now is fine. a little more variety would be a nice change however I would only agree on maybe adding variety in the sense of kid zombies, female zombies (not sirens just walkers that are female) if you want boss zombies etc then stick to L4D. IMO the back story for dayz would have to develop first for any "irregular" zombies to be a possibility i would agree with irradiated zombies, but there are no nuke plants in cherno right now so i dont see that being a possibility. also if they were added, a player would come under serious threat walking in a radiated zone anyway. people talk about wanting realism in this game, sure boomers and titans would ruin the realism, but kids and wives and a few fat zombies wouldn't. providing there are no special benefits to being a fat zombie or kid zombie. i would like to see the variety which would most definitly come in, but in the standalone phase...im getting tired of being chased by jamie hyneman all day

just be careful usually tents like that, are most probably hacker tents, full of hacked items the only way to tell for sure if there was more than 2 tents, filled with good stuff

doesn't work =P i tried but my server host says you can change your max players, however to purchase a server it must have a 50 slot cap so the max is 50 and the minimum is 30 but you must have a "full" server according to the dayz devs or it wont be whitelisted. so you have to pay for 50 people. and then change it but still pay the full server price =P

nope not enough but im footing the bill for this month until the 9th of next month hoping to get donations in the meantime. two people donated a total of 10 pounds so it was 10 off my usual 60, which was nice :P haha

sure =) but i think standalone wont be released for a month or two and even then it will probably still require people to host the servers.

well i did find a white pickup, had a L85A2 in it =P most of the vehicles are up north near krasnotav, found 3 or 4 yesterday working ones but i wonder if vehicles still spawn if someone saves them? also, im keeping SG 00 up for one more month, then taking it down depending on contributions. plus i have an extra copy of CS:GO =] so on top of ARMA II im giving out CS:GO as well =P

lol its no problem, im trying to do something with the "lowyat" people they want a server and i might get more contributions from them or they might be starting up a malaysian server so you'd still have SEA servers to play on ^^ just not mine lol

well the Chip in is in USD my paypal donate page is in pounds, which is what the server host is using as well. so far 2 people have donated a total of 11 pounds :) 20 pounds ish more and ill keep the server up for another month if not ill have to issue refunds and close the server =(

lol i know exactly how you feel, i had to shutdown the server and then got a few people complaining about admin abuse how i shut down the server because someone killed me thing is. i wasnt even playing. you get a million and one idiots with no proof running around the forums complaining because their mother never loved them enough as a child. also admins are the one getting a bad rap because? hackers are anonymous most of the time. they cant blame the hacker they have no idea who the hacker was, so who is there to blame? the guy who operates the server. ive stopped giving a flying poo about babies in my server, because they wouldnt have proof no matter how many screenshots it takes =P im a fair admin, if theres a hacker i shut it down to deter him thats about all i can do. i dont have acess to script logs to find out who is the culprit all i have is ping kicking and shutting down to combat hacking. Its just one of those things we have to bear with until they sort out the hacking issue, which is more of a BI and BE problem than dayz.

I don't think its a matter of being able to password your servers, Dayz isnt meant for the individual who is paying to be able to play by his lonesome with a few friends, its meant for everyone which is why rocket made passwording taboo, he needs people to make servers public so he can see the data being poured in and out of hive, so he can fix bugs. It's arbitrary i know, and frustrating considering we shell out of our pocket for people to use it for free, for hackers to come in and screw stuff up, for whiney babies who call us admins "shitheads" for kicking them because they have 900 ping. however from the bean king (rockets) perspective, he shells out ALOT more than we do, all poured into this mod to do what he can, its still in alpha, hackers are gonna hack. but he doesnt even get to play the game he is spending money to make. not to mention time and effort daily poured into upgrading the game into a beta. they just need to address the hacking. or allow us admins to use a tool that lets us have more control over our server than the average joe. a tool that allows us to see a hacker in and out of our servers. yes such a tool may be considered a hack itself but its better than letting hackers run rampant with such a tool we can know the GUIDs, have legitimate proof that they were "teleporting" or "spawning things" or whatever ban them locally and then submit our report to the dayz devs for a global ban. Dayz needs to let us admins help! by branching out the work of taking down hackers it will be a lot more efficient the dayz dev team could even develop the tool themselves so that any data or local bans are sent to them so they can verify the hacker and also tell an abusive admin from a non abusive one.

haha well i know its called a "donation" but i cant think of a better way to say "thank you" than with a random lottery haha the games i get are always on sale and its an incentive to keep people donating even though its not much its always better than nothing :D besides ill try my best to make it clean and well managed but the dayz dev team need to start focusing on what admins can and cannot do because right now the people dominating the game are hackers, even the guy that owns the server has no power to stop a hacker besides kicking and banning (if we can actually find out who) I might have to start hiring some admins like you guys ;) to help keep it balanced really? cool haha thanks for spreading the word, hopefully SG 00 will be around for a long time how does chipin work? do i need to sign up for it? or can people just do it with my paypal email?

i was just wondering if it would be a good idea to add a "killed by" message when someone dies on the screen now there are good and bad. but especially with the amount of hackers in dayz bypassing battleye all the damn time, it would make admins like myself who dont have access to script logs to see who is hacking. able to verify who was hacking a bit easier, it doesnt really tell anyone much except who killed who because all i see now is xxxx was killed xxxx was killed xxxx was killed xxxx was killed xxxx was killed if there was "by yyyy" then we could safely assume any man who took out a whole server is a hacker...and ban him. or if a guy comes in to the server, and teleports right behind me....makes wolf noises and dedicates a song to me over voice chat using my name (when tags are off) i can see who killed me and ban him unless theres another way you can see names with tags disabled?
