  1. Yeah, I can get on teamspeak though I may be disappearing until tonight soon. I'll make my way as quick as I can and arrange with you over PM when we can both jump online. Also, was wondering if I could tag along with one of you guys as I'd be interested in this line of play. Perhaps as a medic escort to help cover and scout etc?
  2. Ah, he's a weird one - I need antibiotics for the dayz flu :( at Mogilevka, don't know if anyone has any of that precious precious loot?
  3. I love how reluctant so many people are to believe that at least one guy out of thousands playing is good/lucky enough to run around and kill a 100 dudes. I mean, a lot of them could have been unarmed or simply looting which is easy pickings. I say kudos if it's legit.
  4. I've really been enjoying lone wolfing on Lingor but could do with a partner to take turns covering etc, PM me if you're interested in someone to run about with :)
  5. It depends on your mindset and situation, the game does have a tendency to have moments where it's completely lackluster of stimulation - though other times those times can be filled with suspense instead. I enjoy playing the character as myself too, really enjoy hunting and cooking meat solo and all the other nice additions to the game. Although the zombies obviously aren't the real stimulation to keep playing I find I enjoy having to trick them and stuff often. On Lingor earlier I was searching military barracks and using smoke grenades to send the dozen or so zombies running off (only had a hatchet at the time) But yeah as others are saying the true thrill of the game is either gunning down players or being hunted by bandits if you're a survivor.
  6. Pretty sure he's only killed one guy and is still repenting over it anyway :P
  7. Yesterday I'd managed to ghillie up and get a nice big pack full of all my needs for the push North, the server was about to reset so I laid down out the back of the firestation. When the server came back up I rejoined to find myself inside the building tower still. As I went to the ground floor there was a bandit in the main room with an enfield shouting "Friendly, friendly man!" I asked him about his bandit clothes and he said he HAD to kill him. We talked for a few minutes and he even dropped a couple bits of gear for me. Then out of nowhere about ten minutes later he just shoots me in the head, kicked myself for a while on that. The line between being trigger happy and overly trusting is fine on this game, especially when people can chat to you casually for a while and give you gear before taking you out.
  8. You guys ever panic fired on someone, or fell off of something whilst sprinting out of sheer fear? Feeling sorry to the two guys I unloaded an AKM mag onto that were sprinting into Electro, had just killed a bandit by the hospital in melee range - took a bullet too, only to see two players sprinting in a straight line towards me through some gardens shortly after. I only realised one was unarmed after, though I let the second one run seeing the murder count to one. He came back when I was in the shopping centre and broke my leg with a crowbar, a shotgun blast to the face and some morphine fixed that situation - learnt that it's best to kill them all or not at all. The city does horrible things to my trusting of other players.
  9. Had a guy all up on the industrial stairs by the docks of Electro unarmed with a ton of zombies on him, I kept yelling "Dude, stay up there I'll lead them off and help you out!" He proceeded to fumble on the ladder the opposite side and fall to his death. As calm and tactical you attempt to be in this game, I think one of the main reasons some of us play is for the adrenaline rush. Especially the first couple of kills I got, man I was sweating more nervously than that time on my first date.
  10. Although I take the game with the attitude of a survivor, it's scary how this game envokes the fight or flight feeling in me more than any other game. It's like, I knew I should have opened comms and said "Friendly, you guys need a hatchet to get started?" But after being shot in chest my first thought was "Oh fuck, his buddies, KILL THEM ALL!" To make it worse I accidentally had my rifle on rock and roll mode. BLATBLATBLATBLATBLAT.
  11. Got my first 2 murders today in quick succession, moving with a buddy who's been playing for just a day, he had a hatchet and myself an enfield from Prigo. Approaching one of the barns on before you enter Cherno we spotted a tent. My friend crawls towards it whilst I check the treeline, seeing a lone survivor with his sights on us. 2 Enfield shots and he's down, managed to score an mp5, makarov, medical supplies, bigger pack. I did it partly because I knew he would shoot my buddy, but boy it felt good. I moved into a watchtower behind the hospital, finding a guy opposite the road on a lower roof camping the hospital area. My buddy and I peppered him with mp5 and enfield rounds, looting him for an AKM and some other bits. Once again I made that call because we needed to loot the hospital (buddy was on low blood). I can't help but feel I could have tried to negotiate with both if I took the time, but after my city encounters (3 executions whilst empty handed or with only hatchet and calling out friendly) I decided the coast isn't the place to play nice. I feel like I'm falling to the dark side :'(
  12. There's been speak of losing your character in the update that was bugged also, seeing as I've only had the game a couple days I'm not entirely sure how the devs work with Six Launcher and the consequences. Is it best to not log until all this blows over say tomorrow? Or if I've updated without booting the game, is there already a chance I've lost my character profile?
  13. So, have you guys been cursed by today? Perhaps a door broke your leg, your FAL get lost in the inventory, crashed your heli? Making a second trip to Cherno later will be tempting fate I think...
  14. My first experience was an intense, drawn out one. I crouch and crawl from the East or Cherno through the industrial area where I spawn, luckily only pulling two crawlers. As I try and cross one of the first streets I noticed a mob of zombies and the distant thud of a shotgun going off, though my recently found bino's don't show much down the dirtied street. Finding a strip of small loot shops, I decide to look for a bigger pack but to no avail. Suddenly shots ring out again, from a rooftop and definitely a high powered rifle of some sort. Realising the error of half my deaths previously was to impatience, I decide to literally sit in the toilet cubicle and lay a fresh one out (pretty sure he was one or two rooftops over from me.) Eventually the shots stop and I assume it to be bandits server hopping. I take my chance and creep my way over to the hospital tents. My God have I never been so happy, bundles of bandages, painkillers, a couple of morphine. First thoughts: Oh man I can't lose all this stuff! Second thoughts: I'm going to lose this stuff. This outlook on the game helps you function better, which is why when I decided to try and smash the hospital windows opposite the road with an empty bottle I calmly sprinted up the watchtower opposite to bandage. As I'm about to climb back down the ladder, again *THUD* *THUD* I look down to see the shotgun wielder from earlier dashing into the hospital, leaving shortly after with what I can only assume to be a ton of morphine and blood bags. I watch him sprint down the main road and turn into the industrial area in order to shake them, taking this time to crawl into the hospital unarmed. Now packed to the teeth with medical supplies I decide I need to find at least a hatchet to protect all my goodies, finding a makarov eventually. On my way out to meet with a friend who scored an AK with 4 mags in Elektro, I decide to check the main square seeing as I hadn't heard any sniper shots. Well, there were definitely some sniper shots as before me lays a bleeding corpse with an ak in hand. First thoughts: I'm going to lose this stuff, this is sniper bait. Second thoughts: What have I got to lose at this stage in the game? And so I snuck the whole way out of the city without the sniper getting a bead on me, now holed up in Prigo barn. Not bad for day 2 of survival, have you guys got any "First time in the city" stories?
  15. Hey, me and a friend are looking for likeminded survivors, we play day and evening. Let me know what's going on and we'll be happy to join you :D
  16. Hey guys, Judas here from England! Good to this game has attracted a decent gaming community, after League of Legends I thought all hope was lost for the internet. Been playing a couple days with a friend, my lifepan seems to double every time so I believe I'm learning the ropes. Any lone wolves who need a couple of guys to help gather supplies and push North are welcome to PM me for deets! Happy hunting/surviving!
  17. Appreciate the feedback, I suppose anyone playing since release isn't going to remember a whole deal though :P Also, spotted the part you were on about Rhodes, thanks for that I'll go ahead and edit. And seriously, Mays, I'm provoking creativity here. The game has a massive roleplay element and I don't see why it shouldn't be utilised on the forums a bit.
  18. So me and a friend are two days into DayZ, we've both managed to get guns or equipment eventually but most our lifespans are twenty minutes to an hour and a half due to bandits/zombies breaking our legs. Decided it'd be worth seeing if there are any other players that have got the shooting/movement/looting down but are struggling to get a foothold on the map and get North, or if anyone experienced would be interested in trying to form an operative of 4 to 6 people. Our goal is to ultimately build a chopper as my other guy is a dream with them, we play UK servers mostly from in the day to at night. We'd be willing to join an already formed group too, so yeah if anybody needs a couple of guys to bolster them out then we're your mercenaries.
  19. Both added, I'm online for now Cyanyde, in Cherno with nothing so far :/ I appreciate all the positive replies, and here I see half the forums going "BANDITS ARE RUINING THIS!" Give this game a few months and the survivors will band up just as much as the bandits. Half the time we win anyway (because a good survivor doesn't get seen in the first place, right?)
  20. I'll add you to Skype, though it's already 2am here for us guys so it'll have to be another night!
  21. Apologies for posting in the wrong area! Caviano, just what we were looking for, we felt like we needed some more eyes and hands to hold guns. It's telling me I can't privately message you, though.
