  1. Let's not get off topic here, let's keep it clean, let's keep talking about fisting. Because I have not stopped laughing yet.

    NVG Frustration

I got all my NVG's in the time honored, old-fashioned way. I stole them.

WHERE IS MY GIVE BEANS OPTION

I love this thread, it's young and full of beans.
  4. You'd better wear gloves before fisting zombies, that's all I have to say.

I am sadly reporting that I have no more beans to give today.

Things that SHOULD be in Dayz by tomorrow...

I love this idea! Not having played arma before dayz, I had no idea all these files were available. Thanks for the info OP, and let's hope they get added in so we can start our own Black Priest Motorcycle Club.

    People who play 3rd person

I travel in third person and shoot in first. I've always found third person more comfortable, but I read all these forum posts saying the FOV isn't much different between first and third, so why is it more comfortable to me? I think it has to do with disorientation. In first person, I'm not exactly sure what my character's position is relative to his surroundings. The view feels off because I'm not sure of exactly where I am. I know I'm not explaining this very well, but first person in this game feels very counter-intuitive to me. In third person I can move and navigate much more comfortably and instinctively. In first person I am very aware of the interface and constantly trying to locate myself relative to my surroundings, while in third person I know exactly where I am and thus can focus on moving. Honestly, you can turn off everything else on your server and I'm fine with it. I've never even used waypoints, in fact I didn't even know about them until I read a forum post debating them last week. Crosshairs make it a little easier to interact with objects, but I never use them for shooting, so I can work without them. Nametags are just silly. But if you lock me into first person view in this game, it's disorienting and just feels wrong. It's unpleasant, and makes me more, not less, aware that I'm playing a game.

  12. I've been using Six Launcher, but tonight I downloaded Play With Six so I could update to 1.7.2.5 because the server I have most of my stuff on just updated. Problem: No servers appear in the server browser list, no matter how many times I hit refresh. The little refresh counter runs, but nothing appears. Is there some setting in Play With Six that I'm missing? How do I make the servers appear in the server browser?
  13. He means a U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) issued motorcycle, in a green paintjob. The dayz wiki uses a green USMC bike for the motorcycle page, so I think it's okay.

    Battleye Script Restriction 90... What?

I too was kicked for #90, and kicked repeatedly again when trying to log back in.
  17. In an effort to determine whether I have the worst luck when it comes to vehicles, or if server admins are deliberately protecting their clan's vehicles, I put together a little poll. Please take a few seconds to fill it out, I think it would be valuable to know if getting kicked or reset for finding vehicles is a common problem.
  18. I've found a UAZ at a spawn, and a PBX at a spawn, that's about it in over a month. All my other vehicles (ATVs, a Ural, the white pick-up, a beloved motorcycle, some boats) were taken from camps or hiding spots in the northern wilderness. I can deal with organized clans taking the vehicles to their camps, that just means I have to find their camps. What frustrates me are servers that kick or reset when I find the vehicle. There's no way to out-play that in the game, unless you want to start your own server. But since two of you brought it up, I threw in davidecibel's suggestion to the poll choices.
  19. Most recent heart-dropper: A few nights ago I rode my motorcycle to the NE airstrip to get some fuel for my empty jerry cans. As I approached the ATC I thought I saw a crawling zombie, but then pew!pew!pew! he starts shooting a silenced weapon and I'm all OH NOES!, do a u-turn and go full throttle for the hills. By some miracle, neither I nor the motorcycle were hit.

    Animal spawns

I recently had to make the long trek from southern coast to northern wilderness. I don't really know how animals work (do they spawn around players? Are they static? Are they tied to specific locations?), but it seemed like it was much harder to find large game (cow, pigs, sheep, goats) in the southern forests and meadows than in the north. It got to the point that I was chasing rabbits for my dinner. But other times, up north, I have encountered so many animals that I can't carry all the meat. So there are fat days and there are lean days, which is kind of cool. But my main question remains; animals, how do they work?
  21. I'm not playing on the update yet, but after a restart my tent and the tents of several nearby camps I raid were gone, not a trace. After another reset, they were all back. I still find tents very mysterious.

    LIVESTOCK

I've shot plenty of animals at night, so yes.
  23. This would be great, I vote yes. Let the scavenging begin!
  24. Just wanted to report that I have found a server where I can ride a vehicle for hours and no resets or kicks happen. The server is fairly low pop and does not appear to be under the control of any one clan. This experience is completely opposite from all my previous ones on a variety of busy servers, where every discovery of a vehicle led to either a kick or a reset. I am now more convinced than ever that losing vehicles to reset / kicks is part of a deliberate strategy by server admins protecting their clan's vehicles. This kind of abuse will remain rampant in the stand alone unless servers are centralized and control taken away from the existing admins.
