  1. I've just logged off US328. Me and everyone on the server got killed all at once. When I respawned, I started to run back to my body, when suddenly I was carrying a M16 and a Coyote backpack, full tool belt, everything. So yeah, definitely hacker activity on this server.

    Your First Murder

Just did an interview with Cherno Journo, it was fun! He's professional and courteous, and respects whatever safe measures you need to take to feel safe. Everyone should try it out, this is the kind of user generated content that makes games like Day Z different.
  3. Some dude in Elektro shot me with a Makarov after I took down a zombie that was coming through the door behind him. Didn't kill me, though, so I thwacked him with a crossbow bolt in return. He passed out, and I got to watch the remaining zombies eat him. That's all I've got revenge-wise.
  4. Plus the north is where clans stash all their vehicles, so with some patience and a lot of searching, you can find another ride without even having to repair it. All my past vehicles (2 motorcycles, 4 ATVs, hatchback, Ural truck) were all stolen.
  5. Sometimes losing it all is a good thing. I've recently lost everything, and had a great time running around Cherno gearing up before heading north.
  6. The bigger issue is that Day Z needs an encumbrance system. Currently all items are weightless and have only volume properties (number of slots they take in active inventory/backpack/primary/secondary/tool belt/optics). If you want equipment choices to have consequences, weights need to be assigned. Then people will have to make compromises to their inventory in order to carry big guns, or face speed penalties. If this was combined with a fatigue system, then inventory management would become a crucial skill all players would have to learn. (As in player skill, not a skill tree, don't freak out).
  7. A fueling station on the current map would probably be a tent full of empty jerry cans planted next to a fuel tank. Drive or walk up, negotiate a price, then get your tank filled. Higher price if you want to take the cans instead of a fill up, as those have to be replaced, unless you're trading in empty cans for full ones. This static position runs into the same problems as other civilization ideas (colonies, trading posts): security. Very hard to defend a static position from legitimate in-game attackers, let alone the hackers. Maybe an observed drop would be safer. Buyer negotiates a price, seller instructs buyer on where to drop the items (an observable position), then seller tells buyer coordinates of where to pickup the fuel. Would have to be done over 3rd party VOIP given the distances involved. Also, fuel tanks are currently plentiful (and hold an infinite amount of fuel), and jerry cans aren't hard to find, so fuel isn't scarce enough to really go to all the trouble of trading for it. Just thinking out loud.

Is there any humanity in DayZ

I was looting inside an apartment in Cherno tonight when I saw another survivor approaching the entrance. I leveled my shotgun at the door and said "Don't come inside" over VOIP. The guy asked if I could hear him. I repeated my warning, and then he said he was leaving. I kept the door covered for another five minutes, then I left. That's all the humanity I've been able to muster so far.
  9. You had a Makarov and were prone in a red house in Elektro. I was running from a horde and dashed inside. I yelled "Zombies incoming!" over VOIP, then took down the first zombie at the door with my crossbow. You ignored them, mumbled something snide over VOIP, then emptied your Mak at me. It broke my leg, took me down to less than 3,000 blood, but didn't kill me. I leveled my crossbow at you and let fly. One bolt and you were unconscious. The rest of the horde entered the house and started eating you. I just watched. No need to waste another bolt. Next time you want to murder with a Mak, learn to aim for the head. I wasn't even moving when you fired that shit.

    Anyone else noticed....

I've read other posts that say the coast spawn bug is from corrupted position data when you force-quit because of a stuck loading screen. Not sure if that's actually the case, but all my coast spawns have happened after doing that.
  11. Is this going to be another "I shot down a chopper all by myself" threads? With no video? Because we already have one of those.
  12. "Don't worry, the Mak is still good for breaking into hospitals." I lol'd so hard, thank you! And well deserved beans.
  13. If you want it bad enough, you can make your own right here, http://downfall.jfedor.org/

    Someone tried to rape me?

Neckbeards raping neckbeards, oh noes! Seriously, unless proven otherwise, every "girl" you meet in online gaming is a G.I.R.L. (Guy In Real Life).
  15. We need to go deeper. We need an AS50 that shoots out another AS50, which then shoots out yet another AS50.

The whole hive needs to be wiped

People are too attached to their pixels. Monthly hive wipe would be great.
  17. AS50 should be able to aim and shoot itself. That way it can play the game for you while you take the war to the forums.

    All servers unplayable

I just tried it and it worked, I figured the problem had to be on my end.

    All servers unplayable

I just startted using dayz commander and was having the exact same problem, maxed out pings on all servers after a few minutes of normal operation. Turns out my firewall (COMODO) was hating commander for some reason, so I went into the settings and set it as a trusted application. All the pings immediately returned to normal.
  20. Ah well, fun while it lasted.
  21. Wait a minute, wait a minute... zombies have no weapons, so how have they been attacking us? By fisting! God, no wonder it triggers bleeding sometimes.
  22. If you use fisting all the time, you should get a new skin. I'm thinking something in leather. Or maybe latex.
