    Hah. I know ESC is an efficient way to prevent this, but only when you alt+tab. Plus, if you are searching a building with your friends, and want to make sure you don't accidentally shoot them while looting, a safety button would be good. And not pointing your gun (pistol) at something you don't want to shoot, seems stupid to me, because I don't want to hold ALT while moving and look the other way. My character's neck can get hurt.

    For alt tabbing esc works effectively. There is also an option to lower your weapon to a relaxed postition (the character has it pointed at the ground), you first click will raise the weapon back to the shooting postition. AFAIK this only works on rifles and not pistols. Your last option practice actually weapon handling and keep your trigger finger off your mouse till your ready to fire.


  2. A problem that I foresee with this is that people with various degrees of sniper rifles will camp the airfields even more since its pretty much the only place you can land. So picture this' date=' assuming we have to repair a plane, you go through all the work, land it in Balota airfield, and while your coming to a stop, POW right through the windshield and you have now lost your plane....

    Some of you might want to try flying it. With its low stall and take off speed it can be landed in and taken off from any field with at least 500 meters of space. Less for those really stelar pilots. YMMV

    I think that is advise so the new spawn doesnt get killed by the spawn rusher.

    You misunderstand. Most people tell newbies to "get off the coast" so as to avoid getting killed.

    But apparently people getting spawn rushed (ie. not getting off the coast), is just cause for taking makarovs away.

    I thought rocket did it to make the game harder in the beginning, but hell you might want to ask him. Personally don't care either way, its still not very hard IMO to get geared up sufficently.


  4. You mean like marks on the in game map. Its a ARMA feature, however depending on what von channle your in when you mark the map will allow more people to see it. If you mark something while in side chat as an example, everyone with a map on the server will see your marks. They are server side. So if you mark the map and log off they will stay till they are removed or server restarts. So what I think happened is you logged off, the server restarted or you got a another server. When you did someone else had marked the map on side chat, allowing you to see thier marks.

    As to your pack sounds like a bug.


  5. Most SKS rifles are magazine fed and thus can have magazines ranging from 5-100 rounds. Not saying the implementation should reflect this as far as balance is concerned though.

    Not sure were you getting this, most sks rifles have a internal non detachable 10 round magazine; Russian, Polish, Romanian, Yugoslavian, North Koren, Albanian, East German and some Chinese models. There are Chinese models which can use ak47 magazine ,so your kinda right. I hope they add both.

    Large city with some out lying areas. Crap ton of enterable buildings compared to Chernerus. There is a river that runs a long one side of the map and there are plenty of water pump/wells that dot the map.


  7. Mosin nagant please, I would prefer the carbine version but also don't forget the sniper version with the PU scope. SKS for sure, maybe also the Norincos that can use AKM mags !!!!. Maybe some older stuff like SVT40 or PPSh-41 and PPS. I don't know if non soviet block suplus firearms would be in keeping with the theme of Chernarus, but something like a Garand or Veitnam era m14. Could also go a little more modern with something like the mini14 in 223 with 30 round magazine.


  8. Batteries aren't going to disappear that fast. This isn't a major catastrophe where you suddenly have millions of people trying to subsist on the remaining resources in a small area. It's a contageous outbreak where you now have a few people trying to subsist on the remaining resources over a large area.

    I guess it all depends on how "soon" after the outbreak the game is set in. The game feels off the way it is now, I wish we had a bigger verity of "civilian" weapons available. Multiply types of shotguns and hunting rifles, surplus rifles like mosins, garands and sks, so far as even AR15s or mini14s. Think the military weapons should be cut way down and the ones with neat toys(ACGOS, AIM points ect) even more so.

    PS. 50,000 hours, holy crap thats a long time.


  9. Guess this would be a removal thread, but it being the end of the world I would imagine your batteries are going to disappear real fast. My suggestion would be to remove items that rely on them. GPS, Flashlights, NVGs, and certain rifle optics, Aim points, Acogs ect. Opinions?
