Actually the M240 (FN MAG) is a "General Purpose Machinegun" this is because it's fairly heavy and long and it shoots 7.62x51mm NATO (the military equivalent of .308 winchester, mainly used in Marksman rifles). It IS portable and used by dismounted patrols but is often operated by two people at a time and is generally a bitch to hump around.

Was playing just now (10:30 EST) on US 1356, two hackers teleported me to them, I happened to be in a tractor so I was able to drive away, then I tried getting in the heli they spawned didn't have gas but then a hacker got in and was able to fly away, I then got on a dirtbike and was chased down by a hacker in a hatchback. Its happened multiple times where I've woken up at the coast in shock because a server I've connected to has gotten me stuck at loading. It's really annoying making my way all the way up North, having a server restart, then being back on the fucking coast.

If there are increased zombies the urban situation is going to be ridiculous, the zombies already have ridiculous LoS, to have even more will make it worse. It doesn't matter how common ammo is, it matters how rare the weapon is. The fact that it's nearly impossible to stealth in urban areas any more mixed with additional zombies and less ammo would be catastrophic.

No I totally agree, especially about morphine. The first time I broke my leg in game I didn't instantly go "Oh, I need morphine" I had to ask in side channel. Because really that's not realistic. I agree about the weapons, however I haven't played the new build yet so I can't say anything about the zeds. I noticed while playing 1.7.0 they wouldn't aggro if I was behind them anyways so the idea of LOS being new, is kind of weird to me. But, the idea of starting without a weapon seems ridiculous. Not because of zombies, but because of bandits that will now be flocking to the coast. Even with an M16A2 M203 I was weary of survivors with just Makarovs because even if they don't kill me they might get a few good shots in that will cripple my blood, which cripples my sight, which cripples my ability to survive further. Now Bandits will have the confidence they need to kill people who have just spawned.
