It's not the dev's fault you had to buy ARMA 2. Nobody made you. Their collective efforts are free, and that's a fact. This reminds me of people pissing and moaning when Minecraft released for retail. You probably couldn't keep playing the alpha (or beta) because, as someone already stated, the servers will probably shut down. But as to your question? Fuck yeah I'd buy DayZ if it released as a standalone game. I apologize if I come off as a little harsh, but every user who plays DayZ should consider it a privalege, not an entitlement. Kicking dirt around and saying "but what about us? I was here from the beginning," will only leave you missing out until you decide to actually buy the game. -

I don't personally, but that's more because I don't waste ammo unless I have to and less with how much I trust people. Most of the time, you won't even know I was there. Think of it like this; most players are like wild animals, wolves if you will. They will attack out of fear, desperation, or some kind of miguided alpha-mentality (omg wut a n00b i iz so l33t) So, like wolves, if you avoid them then they will have no reason to attack. Unlike wolves though, some people are just spiteful fuckers that do it just to get their dicks hard. And there's nothing to be done about that. -
I've only ever found them in the markets at Stary. Or any of the other markets in the medium sized towns in that general area.

There are also a million posts saying the same thing you just said. So just do what I do: ignore/troll the shit out of them! It's got to be more fun than typing out a well-spelled, well-worded topic (good job in that regard!) As annoying as it is, people are always going to bitch about dying in a video game. And despite what people say, it is a video game. -
So now I'm upset, because you've been exposed as a bold-faced liar but still stick to being an ass about something YOU don't agree with. I admit, I don't like the side chat either, but stating that "its in da rulez ahh hurr durr" and then ignoring when someone calls you out on your bullshit is beyond belief. You don't like something? Fine. You want to discuss it on the forums? That's cool too, that's what they're here for. Want to be an entitled cunt about something and say that everyone else is wrong? Fuck away off. Tip: When you think everyone around you is being an asshole all the time, maybe it's you.

Camouflaging vehicles/keys & lockpicks

Sounds pretty interesting, but all this would lead to, I believe, would be players simply shooting the tires out or blowing said vehicle up. Not that it makes a difference, since they were going to steal it first anyway, but that's just my thoughts on it. -

Quick question- I have a CZ550 which has a maximum of 5 rounds/magazine. I had two mags, then put both the rifle and the ammo in my pack. Now I only have one mag, and my rifle says I have 16 shots loaded. Is this a change or did something bug out?

Strangely enough, this is a well thought out and worded post. Congrats on that! As far as your post goes, I think it's a pretty neat idea, but I seriously don't see it happening. The devs are still trying to hammer out things like zombies walking thru walls and as someone else has already said, "It's too game-ey". I think that the only solution to the "problem" on shoot on sight is time. Given enough time, people will be better established and have more long term goals than "LOL look at that n00b i jus merc im so l33t" But honestly, I dont think it's a problem. Most players just avoid each other now, rather than potentially lose their cool junk. It's what I, and other players in my experience, do regularly. TL;DR- A decent idea but ultimatley flawed because of the nature of the mod. And yes, I did use the word "neat" and no I'm not 80. -

From what I understand, "Racism" and "malicious speech" are the only two things that warrant banning from a server other than hacking/glitching/whatnot. Other than that, I have to say if it feels wrong, you're just not desensitzed enough. -
Also, you can try and pressing the "Launch" button without selecting a server, then go into multiplayer from the OA menu. Find one that says DayZ in the mission title and away you go!

I'd probably try it if I ever came across one. If it glitches me out, then oh well I was going to die eventually anyway. As for your question, I have no idea I haven't seen anything stating that particular bug has been fixed.

I normally only get this from player-placed obstacles such as concertina wire and only when viewed from a distance. I don't know what to tell you other than to just try not to look at the point of origin :/ -

I feel the same way. It's why I carry a G17 (which most people regard as an awful gun) at least until I get some NVG's. Also, you can't beat the tension of a nightime crawl through Cherno whilst players bring the second apocalypse down around your ears and the zombiods go fucking insane. No better sight than a firefight in the city during the twilight hours... EDIT: Just noticed the tags for this post. It was good for a chuckle. -

I know that feeling man. Everytime I hear the "whip-crack" of rounds flying, I get an adrenaline spike like crazy. Afterwards, I get the shakes for a good 10 minutes coming down. Best high in the world...

Don't get so testy friend, as you know every unit down to platton size does things differently. When I was in the Army, we left our rucks and equipment in the vehicles whenever we dismounted to do....well anything. As to this post, I think this is less of a suggestion and more a gameplay philosophy. As long as the sniper or overwatch can see the bags, they shouldn't despawn. I'd try it out with a coyote patrol pack filled with empty tin cans and such, just to test it.
