Grocery stores are the best place to find them, but I've also had luck in the brick buildings with two entrances. They have an orange tinge to them, and are fairly good for finding supplies that are residential in nature. They are also decently common throughout the towns of the North. All I can say is keep looking, you'll find some eventually. Happy Hunting. -

You know, oddly enough, that's how my current character (also my longest-surviving char.) started out. I spawned near Elecktro, so I figured "Why not check the firestation on the edge of the city before I make the sprint inland?" I go in, find a hatchet and some other supplies on the bottom floor, then I start making my way to the top. And I'll be damned if there's not a guy sitting in the top room with a DMR, just peeking around the city. How did he not hear me? Your guess is as good as mine. But two hatchet swings later, I have everything from matches to a GPS and a map, along with a shiny new weapon. Moral of the story? Never underestimate an asshole with an axe, treat them like they have an assault rifle pointed at your head. Because like I always say. "A motivated killer will always find a way." -

See now THAT is the real challenge. Bandit hunting, not just killing everyone you see. Finding, tracking, verifying and neutralizing bandits is were the real hunt is. Think of me like Dexter. If we ever meet, I hope you never even hear the shot that takes you out ;) Happy Hunting -
losing zombies (How we gunna do it after they fix indoor pathing?)

The flares and things such as tin cans and empty whiskey bottles, do draw the zomboids away. Also smoke grenades. As to them fixing the speed of zombies inside, I don't think they're going to do that because pathing in ARMA 2 is wonky at best. Breaking line of sight also works, but only with solid objects, such as buildings and walls. Or you could just blast some fools. -
Well bud, when you first start, there's nothing in the backpack. You have to find a weapon. If you'd like, I could help you gear up and get more aquainted with the game. Just PM me for details.

Strangely enough, I've never been killed BY a sniper rifle, only assault rifles/hatchets/pistols/beingpushedoffabuildingthatonetimeinCherno (okay so the last on was oddly specific) I'm confused as to what you're asking though. Are you saying that the .50 cal rifles spawn too often? Or are you asking if people constantly find them? Because I've never seen one.

Maybe you could even make an MRE bomb with them to stun infected and players :D But seriously, I think this is a pretty bitchin' idea. I'd support it.

I can see it now: A piece of paper pinned to a tree. I walk over to it to check it out. It says something along the lines of, "Glad you took the time to read this note, now if you'll just stay still for a few more seconds....." and BLAM! My head leaves my shoulders. I like it ;)

How long do objects stay on the ground for?

I believe that if you place it, it stays there until picked up or the server restarts. Don't take my word for it though. If you'd like to do that (which I do) then get a tent and set it up, put all of your nonessential items in it, then go foraging. Make sure you remember where it is, but make sure it's hard to find ( I know it sounds dumb but it's easier than it sounds) For instance, find a common but recognizable building such as a shack. Then, follow a line from the shack to the treeline and try to find another common but noticeable landmark such as a fallen tree. Then head in a different direction about 400 meters, and slap your tent down. This should make it easy for you to find, but well hidden enough to where it doesn't get looted. Just something I do and have had success with, the main issue is finding a tent. I wouldn't leave gear that I'd like to pick back up laying around on the ground. A tent is hard to spot in a green forest under some pine trees, but something like say a big yellow flashlight is easier to see than you might think. Good Luck -

This all seems like a clever ploy to get beans.......and I'm VERY protective of my beans. Seriously though, I agree with you. But this is the internet after all, and sometimes people write things out of anger/spite/whathaveyou. So, for what it's worth, thanks to Rocket, the entire deveopment team, and the support team ( as well as the official forum staff for putting up with our nonsense all the time) for all the hard work you guys do. (P.S. You're still not getting my beans.....I'm watching you...) -

Defenseless in a Hostile World

Being able to push zombies to the ground would be a great mechanic for the beginning, and good for giggles later on. Starting with guns would just breed what we call the "Beanwars" were frsh spawns turned the beaches into Normandy trying to steal each others supplies, so that's been proven not to work. I'm sure things like random campsites in the forest will be implemented later on, as it's a fairly obvious thing to do. If you're still having trouble gearing up, PM me and I'd be more than happy to lend a hand. -
I wish more people who post on the forums were like you! Kindred souls, you and I. Glad to see that somebody else "gets it" For all the hair-pulling and teeth gnashing, it's those fifteen seconds when bullets are fliying around you or the zomboids are trying to rip your throat out that keep me coming back. Wide-eyed, white-knuckled and practically snarling like a wild animal. Chernarus is an unforgiving opponent, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let her beat me. Just remember, keep your spirits up and your head down, and remember that you can only cheat the Reaper for so long. Happy Hunting Bud.

Hey, I like the idea of strolling around town smoking a stoogie looking for trouble. That way I could say badass one-liners and leave a trail of bodies, shell casings, and cigarette filters as a testament to my Badass-ery. But seriously though, this is like the upteenth million time this has been suggested. -
Most of the PvP isn't banditry, it's a more primal reaction to a percived outside "threat" (whether it really is or not) Also, boredom and lack of a compelling endgame (at this point) is a reason why people roam around greifing. As far as setting up your own server goes, I believe there are ways to do that. Just search for it on youtube. It won't be connected to the hive, but will be your own personal server to do with as you please.
