Some vests are designed to be wore concealed, others not. There is much misinformation in this thread, you can find anything from level II to level IV that are designed to be worn over a shirt, and anything from level IIIA down designed to be concealed, it depends on the type of vest you buy. You can also buy soft and hard trauma plates of varying NIJ ratings and put them into empty vests or plate carriers, or on top of the soft armor in a pocket designed for them.

I agree! Another thought is that a lowered attack could be vertical at about chest level, while raised attacks are the diagonal attacks we see a lot of now. In general, one handed melee weapons need a better animation altogether, because they look silly the way you hold them right now, and the Hammer/Sickle/Machete/KitchenKnife/M9A1/CrescentWrench all look extremely odd the way they swing. (They could also use a damage boost)

Yep, a ton of the posters here just white-knight for the devs like they can do nothing wrong (Which believe me, is FAR from correct) and use the statement of "it being an Alpha" to excuse fuck-ups and fight against the negative criticism and feedback the game needs to succeed. They just can't see the big picture of things, is all.

And yet DayZ continues to add features that promote griefing and trolling like this, pretty soon it will just become a circlejerk of this kind of stuff and die off, people get bored of this kind of stuff eventually. Maybe it seems funny the first few times you see or hear of it, but after 200 hours of gameplay I can say it's really not entertaining anymore, it's dick-ish and the only purpose of it existing is to grief and troll.

Don't like the bulged handguards on the AKM, personally, doesn't look fitting. (Then again, I also think all the semi pistols having extended threaded barrels is also ugly, too.)

$1-2k for a custom one, you can buy a factory 1911 for pretty cheap now (RIA, Para, ATI, Sig, etc.) you can even get a good Ruger or Remington for under 1k. But generally, just ignore him, he's a troll.

I'd love to see OD Green and Black variants of 1-Hole and 3-Hole Balaclavas in the game, it would fit well into Military loot I think. (I suggested it in my suggestions thread) Also Shemaghs, they're really not that fitting but it'd be a nice throwback to the Bandits of old. (We call them Balaclavas here, too.)

Oh the irony. You guys should definitely try Solichniy and the Solichniy factory though, lots of geared people like to camp there for fresh spawns. Would love to see a video of it, as well!

You must be new here, or have never seen my posts. I'm really not one for fresh spawn PvP (I consistently preach against not only PvP against fresh spawns, but even taking fully geared characters back to the coast), if anyone here is making an assumption it's you, and it really is an assumption considering the extremely aggressive post you're making towards me. I don't want to see acquiring a bow and arrows become priority #1 for fresh spawn players. I don't care if I occasionally see a player carrying a compound bow, but with how easy it is to find miscellaneous construction items and materials in the game it can't be that difficult to make this bow, and I don't want to see every player on the coast sprinting around with a T-Shirt, Jeans, Athletic Shoes, and a Bow, this isn't 1750's Louisiana. I'd much rather just see them make a craftable spear and improve melee weapons, because I don't want to see this become a Cowboys and Indians simulator along the entire coast. I understand people want realism, but it seems like even the developers of this particular game sometimes don't take into account how game changes affect balance and the entire metagame.

I don't server hop because I don't really need to, I can just kill someone and gear up pretty fast on top of knowing where certain items spawn at. That being said, server hopping isn't cheating or an exploit, it's a workaround to having no item respawning system which they've still not directly addressed. Rather, they half-assed a login timer that's a completely nuisance to deal with. I mean, literally take a second to think about this before you start screaming and crying: why would anyone server hop when they could just go and loot a different town whose loot has respawned? They most likely wouldn't unless they're server hopping for PvP action to get off of dead servers. This half-assed timer fix didn't fix server hopping at all, people still do it, they just shift+tab and watch a video while they wait. It does, however, manage to provide a pain in the ass experience for every player that wants to change servers.

I'm actually pretty disappointed to hear they're adding homemade bows to the game. I have nothing against adding Compound Bows or Crossbows to the loot spawn, in fact I'd like to see that. But adding the ability to craft bows gives fresh spawning players easy access to a ranged weapon, and the chances are that once this is added creating a bow will become priority #1 for a freshly spawned player, and this game will wind up turning into a cowboys and indians simulator with the sheer amount of low-geared players running around with a homemade bow.

Most owners of Mosin Nagants are Civillians, and probably 90% of the owners of Mosin Nagants that I know don't own stripper clips for them. And if you're going to be a realism nazi for the Nagant you should make having it chambered in 7.62x54r instead of 7.62x51 your priority.

You shouldn't incriminate yourself. You "acquired" DXTory, rather, but yeah it's a pretty mediocre recording software for the price, especially when compared to Fraps. And yes, to put woodlands camo onto your Mosin you spray paint it black or green then drag the opposite color onto the gun and select the "add" option, I assume you'll be able to do the same thing with the SKS and B95 now that they've added the paint recipes to it into the Experimental.

Without suggestion and criticism, nothing changes in the community's favor. The entire point of playing an Alpha is to give feedback, if you're not giving feedback you might as well not be playing an Alpha because you're pretty much useless. I really hate when people downplay feedback like "it's an alpha, stop criticizing!".

-1 Horrible idea, frankly, just because you don't intend to destroy every weapon you see doesn't mean others won't, and I guarantee you they will. We don't need to make usable weapons even harder to find, and dealing with armed individuals is part of the game, whether or not its a gun you've passed or not. The intentional ruining of items will be used to grief 90% of the time. I know it seems like a good idea in your mind, but you really need to think about the side effects of adding something like this in game... They completely negate any positives to adding it.

Why? Because the only kills you can get are poorly geared players while camping loot spawns on a high pop? You should recognize not everyone wants PvP encounters everytime they go out to loot and respect that they want to play the game a different way than you instead of bitching.
