    M4 further customization/atachments

How about a weapon sling that makes weapon transition faster? Nice EO-Tech or Laser Light Module... Btw. it sucks that you aim perfectly well with the carrying handle (with rear sight) taken off. Without the carry handle, because you can't align front and rear sight anymore, the gun should at least be much less accurate on bigger distances. This makes me think about overall weapon stats meters, which are calculated based on the weapon condition. How clean / well maintained is it, what are the conditions of your attachments and magazines? Based on this, there could be a meter for accuracy and reliability that you can improve, for example by using only pristine mags and attachments and by cleaning your weapon with a cleaning kit.

    Tents still duping/losing items 1.7.1.5

I read that only legit found tents save items, and only for the first save. Duped tents (which can also happen accidently by pitching multiple tents at once due to server lag) won't save items at all. Can anyone confirm this?
  5. Simple but good: Run faster, sprint longer without backpack. Reason: Use it as a tactical advantage in firefight. Hide your backpack and get it back later. After dying, get rid of your starting backpack to get to your teammates faster.

    Gamma and brightness

You cheat. At least rocket said that. Tuning your Gamma + Brightness to see more means bug abusing. It will be fixed in later patches anyway. Search another server with different day time, wait for a full moon or use flares and get shot.

    Rollbacks

I understand this is an alpha, but we got over 1.1 million players now. Testing stuff is ok, but not when they ruin the game like - tents not saving - cars not saving - graphical glitches They're beeing implemented, then you see they're bugged - why can't you simply rollback, fix it, and then re-implement it? Why do we have to live this for so long? Again, alpha, but 1.1 million, thats a big responsiblity compared to a closed alpha.

    Database cleanup [2012-07-03]

+1 for cleanup. The game is senseless atm, as soon as you find a decent tent you're done searching for items.

When "Frozen" at the Loading Screen!

I think it's because Battleye kicks you without notifying you - only people already on the server can read that you've been kicked. Try updating your Battleye .dll - google "Battleye", download and place into Extensions/Battleye folder. I'm still sometimes stuck in the loading screen, but when I see the loading bar not disappearing after ~10 seconds, I Alt-F4 and connect again.
  10. Hi, what do you think should be done asap? I think the top priorities for DayZ should be: 1.) Fix tents and cars (disappearing / not saving items) 2.) Fix dupe and hacks, then reset everything and let everyone start all over (there are NVGs, AS50s and L85 with thermal all over at the moment) 3.) 5 to 10 seconds character remaining ingame after disconnect This allone would make the game ALOT better instantly. ANY other content (like bandit skin, dogs) should be absolutely secondary. Thanks for your opinions

    Your DayZ development priorities?

If it can't be fixed with the mod, it has to be fixed by Bohemia and Battleye in cooperation with Rocket. They have a responsibility for over 1 million players now. Why building more possibly broken floors on a house with broken foundation, instead of fixing the foundation first?

Vehicles - how to know if there are any?

Yes, but not on a totally fresh server (I mean no server restart, but a new server just going online). On fresh servers usually the server hoster gathers the vehicles quickly.
  13. You forgot about the most important part: Drop your backpack before putting on the Camo/Ghillie because you will lose it.

Which T-Shirt design would you buy?

I'd prefer t-shirts that don't let you look like a freak, no weapons and so on. I really like this one: https://flgstudios.s...omize/color/417 (it should look a little "used" or "old" and has less bright colors tho) and the one with the DayZ logo from post #499 as they both look fashionable also for people that don't even know DayZ.

Spawn delay after server reset (how long)?

The question was not about server restart but server reset.

    Some feature ideas requesting feedback

I didn't read the whole thread (edit: I see that the post before mine said the same): A squad could lock down an entire city like Cherno with ease just by placing fireplaces all over (or the generators). I see a simple solution: When people log in, there should be a warning for other people arround that somebody just logged in nearby, or players could make a loud sound when logging in so others are warned. The biggest problem with people that log in is that others can't notice them. I was in a barn, checked everything and then was shot by a player that logged in behind me - if he would've made a sound, I would've noticed him and maybe had a chance.

    Remove tents completely.

I agree, removing tent would reduce the item farming and cause more contacts between players. Sure you have a save feeling knowing you got everything you need when you die, but thats exactly the problem. This game is not about farming items, but creating a good story. Looting stuff all the time and creating huge tent camps is no interesting story, but people (me too) do it because you simply can. If I would not be able to store my stuff in a tent, I wouldn't bother farming so much stuff and more often play the game like it was intented to be.
  20. Edit: latest idea: see post #7 I tried to find a working solution with pro and contra. Please add what I maybe not have thought about, or give another working solution with pro/contra. I will update this first post with other ideas so we hopefully cover all aspects and find the best possible solution. Basic idea: Punish disconnects during confrontations, let people log out safely when they are in a safe situation, and leave people the choice how they log off. Conditions: The solution should discourage people from disconnecting during a firefight or to get rid of aggro zombies The solution should not make it dangerous to log out with purpose, when you are in a safe environment You should be able to log out within a short time, for example when you have to quit fast to catch your bus (in real life) The solution should be fast and easy to implement into the game Optional: The solution should make "server hopping" harder or less attractive Concept: After Alt-F4, Quit, or disconnect, the character disappears after one minute edit: 20-60 seconds (can be tweaked) To log out safely, you can get out a bivy (new start item, can’t be dropped) which takes 30 seconds to put on; alternative: be close to your tent (problem: ownership; strategic tent placing to be able to log out instantly), be close and sit next to a campfire, then a message appears "You can now log out safely". Optional: “zombie zone” – 5 minutes log out time (a warning appears) if there is a zombie arround you in a 100m radius (to avoid people from logging out in cities or close to loot spots) Alternative to the “zombie zone”: 5 minutes log out time in a “danger zone” around loot spots (for example no fast log out in the whole northwest airfield, cherno, electro, …) For the time the character takes to log out, people cannot log in to another server Pro: You can chose: log out instantly and your character stays on the server for one (optional: five) minutes, or take out your bivy and watch your surroundings for 30 seconds, after this you can instantly and savely log off Even when you have a real disconnect, there is a chance that you survive when you are not close to a zombie / bandit OR when you are in a group that can protect you; you only die during a fight and when nobody can protect you during the 30 seconds you wait in your bivy, you can get out fast and shoot at anything that might harm you a real disconnect WITHOUT a server disconnect is a rare event and can be avoided (simply take care of your 24h-disconnect) The game would be a really better experience because people can no longer abuse this game mechanic to win or avoid a confrontation realistic because the character sleeps in a bivy (optional zombie / danger zones): you get a warning that you have a long log-out time and can still chose to leave the zombie/danger zone When you have a real disconnect, you can login to the same server again in less than a minute and therefore still (maybe) “safe” your character from being killed can still log out in a short time (simply run into the woods and get out your bivy, or let a friend guard your character) Con: if somebody REALLY has a disconnect, his character will stay for 20-60 seconds and maybe die it would be annoying to die after you have a real disconnect it's maybe not the EASIEST solution to implement (I don't know about this) Side effect: Less server hopping for farming loot: The above idea “zombie zone” would reduce server hopping a little bit, because people would have to run away from loot spots to be able to log out; when logging into another server, they need to make a new approach The “danger zone” would also reduce server hopping out of the same reason
  21. @Sticky: Your first point: One hour is enough time to loot Cherno, and when you have no zombie directly chasing you, you can safely log out right in the middle of Cherno AFTER waiting 30 seconds - no problem at all, no risk for you, not much time needed :) 2nd point: True, it would have advantages I totally see them too. But maybe there is another good solution which still makes it possible to log in to other servers without having to be placed on the coast (which is also unrealistic). Also, what if somebody says "I need medical supplys, I will log into another server to spawn at the coast."? 3nd point: You're right, maybe it is not that hard to implement.

Adding new edges to DayZ experience with least efforts.

This is definatly a point that must be taken into consideration. The western part of the map drops more stuff than the eastern part (more supermarkets, more deer stands, Stary Sobor / NWA). I just don't know if it is good or bad when people can chose to pile up. Who wants to go allone can go in the east, who wants pvp goes to Stary/NWA.
  23. Meanwhile I would also prefer this most simple and effective solution. Any thoughts against it?
