Hypocrisy. Love it. You know the thoughts and feelings of everyone who has ever played DayZ? 1.2 million people? Wow, didn't know your brain was a super computer. You will never even meet 1.2 million people, so to process the thoughts and feelings of 1.2 million people must sure take a hell of a lot of work. Lets all bow down to our new overlord, Goldeen 9000. -
Considering how many times he has said this is an issue with ARMA 2s engine and therefore will never be fixed, you'd think people would start conning onto it by now.

Yes, even if some people have a legit use for it, 9/10 times people just put it up in the loot spots at cherno so as to grief new spawns with no toolbox. -

It's peripheral vision, it's been in the game for ages. Whilst i agree the range and angle at which they appear is stupid, i wouldn't call it unrealistic; as if you were moving through the woods in real life and saw movement in the 'corner of your eye' so to speak, you would notice it. Also, i like how you're using this as a platform to bash 'new retarded features' as we get closer to standalone, even though it's been part of the game for atleast 2 months. -

FAL for NVGs or rangefinder? You can't be serious? I have found only 5 pairs of NVGs in all my time playing and no rangefinders. Compared to well over 20 FALs, 3 with the nightvision scope. Currently the revolver is harder to find than a FAL, if you find an unlooted crashite 9/10 times it will have at least one FAL, usually more. Literally all the stuff you listed is harder to find than those two weapons, anyone willing to trade any of it for a FAL, NV or not is out their mind or a duper. -
So i just spent 40 minutes running back to the north from the coast due to 1.7.2.5, headed to our camp at the mountian directly north of devils castle. I get to the dip inbetween the moutian with devils castle on and ours when i hear a huge explosion. Naturally i about shit my pants because i'm way north and there are only 7 people on the server so what are the odds of that? I immediately know someone has found our tents and taken our satchel charges, i run up the hill and soon found out i am correct; the tents are all gone and so is 3 weeks worth of heli crash site hunting. 2 NVGs, 3 m107s, a spare L85AWS, 2 silenced M4A1, multiple bizons m14s and LMGs all gone. Fair enough i think, fair play; you found our tents and out played us so i can't be mad. But then i hear gunshots the next mountian over, so i decide to sneak round the back of the mountian and check if you're at a neighbouring campsite with my L85. I crawl into position, right click and what do you know? A thermal of a guy lying down. At first i think this is the guy you just killed since the second the gunshot went off a guy died. Only when i consult the trusty binos do i see that infact no; this guy is holding his gun out he's alive. So i zero for 200, aim and shoot, the guy gets up and runs behind some trees, it's only then i see his friends running out of other trees and up into the forest. I stay calm, the trees aren't very thick in that forest so finding you again should be easy. Nope, you all combat logged. A group of people who have just gotten their hands on some of the most powerful loot in the game combat log from a single shot. 1v i don't even know how many, 3? 4? Now i'm not bothered that you took our shit, but for 4 guys who are kitted to the teeth to combat log against one guy who doesn't even have an insta gib weapon is pathetic. I only hope some script kiddie puts it right.

Probably something to do with the fact that aslong as you had 1 bullet left in a mag before 1.7.2.5, relogging would fill the mag to max ammo again? 'Think logic'. -

Because it's already been confirmed it's being made on the VS4 engine for ARMA 3? You claim your argument is sound and well thought out but you have to resort to calling people stupid because you're too lazy to get the most up to date information, bravo. You've never heard of an alpha game being release for retail sale? But minecraft is mentioned in the OP... not sure if trolling, or just retarded.

So the new engine and Rockets ability to edit it fixing many of the biggest issues with DayZ almost immediatley means you're paying for the exact same alpha you're currently playing right? Face it, aside from the tent issues which have been fixed and the artfacts most of the things people consider 'bugs' in this mod are just the ARMA 2 engine being used in a way it wasn't meant to, ie duping, zig zag zombies, death ladders, death doors etc etc.

The wiki isnt entirely accurate tbh, for example 1 hour ago i found a crash site with just a m107, 3 mags for it, a akm mag, chemlights heat packs etc. Now i doubt it had been looted as who in their right mind would leave a 1HKO sniper with 3 mags just lying there plus it was in a very remote location you wouldn't bother with unless you were hunting sites. But the other day i found a site with 3 m14s, a Bizon and a FN FAL so... it seems to be random, i guess 6 is the max number of spawn points but the number itself is random.

Loot can spawn inside the chopper, crawling under the tail and using 3rd person allows you to see loot trapped inside or under. Alternatively crawling into the open door and aiming at the floor can sometimes prompt the command for loot.

Depends on how lucky you get, i've found 3 at chopper sites in one session and had periods of 2 weeks where i didn't even see one. Due to the limited number of spawns at heli sites they're not massively rare, it's just a case of finding an unlooted one or one that hasn't gone crazy for FALs which i seem to find at 9/10 sites -.-

The only reason script kiddies do shit like the thunderdome and the server nuke is so they can come on the forums and read QQ threads like this. I have lost count of how many threads or posts OP has made about hackers, everytime i see this guy on here he's talking about them, giving them the attention they want. You moan about how the hacker issue needs to be fixed yet you feed into it yourself. Face it, they're not going to solve the issue because it's a waste of time, they're going standalone so why would they bother configuring a solution for an engine they plan on dumping? Like others have said, script kiddies exist but they're nowhere near as prevalent as people claim, i've played for 2 months and the only scripting i have seen is a spawned heli when they were still disabled. Also don't apply the stigma of script kiddy to anyone with the best gear, it just so happens i have the same load out and more in my tents through legitimate means on a character that has been alive for 24 days. Calling anyone with good gear a script kiddy is just childish and makes it hard to take your point seriously. -

Finding crash sites is relatively easy, your best bet is just to run a huge paperclipped shaped route of the northern half of the map from the west side of the NWAF right over to berezino, below the sobors, Gorka, Polona and above Novy lug / devils castle. Me and a friend do this on a daily basis and we usually find at least 2 choppers, 3 if we get lucky. I'm not sure how many you can get on a server but i believe the number is 5, once you know where to look you should stumble across them on a regular basis if your intent is to find them. Also it should be noted that not all the crash sites are marked on 'cheat maps' and their location is not necessarily true to the maps, i have found crash sites maybe half a kilo away from where the map says they should be and sites where on the map none are marked at all.

You can lose them just by running through a building with two entrances or running through the forest. The only difficult thing about them is their erratic movement and if you took that away they'd be totally pointless, it's already easy to headshot a zombie all you do is bait the attack animation then shoot them when they stand still. The biggest danger that zombies pose is that if you have to shoot them and you don't have a silenced weapon, you risk alerting other players via the noise or the obvious running zombies off in the distance. -
Save the tent everytime you are finished putting items in or taking them out, save it twice before you set out / log off, don't put stuff in it when you've got desync, wait a few minutes after saving before you log off. This is what i do and i've never lost anything to server resets or desync, only from being robbed and a bizzare glitch in which the tent no longer gave the option to access the gear inside which i doubt is preventable.

The only thing you had that doesn't take 30 minutes to find again is the Ghillie, wouldnt be too disheartened.

I spawned at the factory near cherno, went prone in the grass to change my options and check the controls and didn't notice a zombie walking into me and instantly breaking my legs before slowly killing me. Lasted about 5 minutes

So the best way to fix duping issues is to set unrealistic limitations? You can't come here asking for balance under the guise of realism then demand unrealistic features. Basically what you mean to say is "Duping needs to be fixed" (which it can't be, Rocket has already said this too). So the way to stop duping is to punish legit players like me who have multiple tents filled with rare loot gathered through legitimate means over the space of 3 weeks, not a few hours camping one spot. This isn't going to stop dupers, you only need 1 tent to dupe. Infact you can dupe some items without even using tents. Most people who loot cycle use vehicles for storage anwyay since putting your tents near a high activity area is idiotic and lugging loot miles would defeat the point of loot cycling. And once again, how is loot respawning at all realistic? I don't take something out my fridge, come back after 3 hours and it's replaced. Yet again, you're asking for balance changes and throwing the word realism in to try and justify the changes. -

This game isn't meant to be realistic, i'm sick of hearing "This is a realism zombie apocolypse game why isn't factor x realistic" it's not, it's a hardcore survival game. No where does Rocket say "this is supposed to be the most true to life mod ever", think about how many things in this game are wildy unrealistic, ghillie suits in civillian houses, being unable to drink from a lake wihout a waterbottle, random car tyres and engine parts littered everywhere, recovering health from eating a tin of beans... so realistic. In one breath you complain about realism factors yet you say we should only be allowed 1 tent per person per server? I'm not aware of a universal law where a person can only own one tent in this plane of existance, so why should we only be allowed one tent, that's unrealistic. You can't have your cake and eat it. Another complaint about the zombie movements which are part of the ARMA 2 engine which the DayZ devs can't modify. /sigh End of the day this thread just sounds like someone who is butthurt about being killed by snipers or people who've hoarded loot since i don't see any complaints about the other, far more unrealistic elements of this game. -

You're not a bandit you're a guy sat at a computer playing a game. I don't get why you people desperatley feel the need to label yourselves and produce guidelines to categorise what label you belong to. The only place where anyone can see how you chose to label yourself is out of game situations where how you play is irrelevant because it isn't impacting anyone. Bandit is just a term people use to refer to non-friendly players, nothing more nothing less.
