New Update Makes DayZ Extremely Difficult
Rosseeles replied to GrassyKnoll's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Stop firing your enfield in town, may make it easier... Im very suprised at this as i can still sneak past zombies while crouching, even if i do aggro them running through trees/bushes/buildings still looses them, so as far as im concerned it needs to be harder...cant wait to see the forum when the SA drops and zombies can run in doors! ho ho ho -
What's changed with the loot spawning
Rosseeles replied to theirongiant's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Im finding that deer stands generally dont have guns anymore, must have hit 20 last night and found one G17 with no ammo. Apart from that im not seeing less loot or spawns, it seems to be more relevant spawns i.e alot more food/drink in the supermarkets, but less guns -
Its awsome (though a little buggy) the fact my main weapon is nearly permanently my axe says it all, no more run and gunning. Also i quite like the fact there seems less zombies around when you go into a town, but if you start firing they come from all over, i made the mistake of firing a lee enfield in a supermarket and must have had 30 dinner guests after that!

Well ive been playing this game on and off for around 6 months, really enjoyed it, but it got a little stale so i thought id have a break until the SA. however a few nights ago i thought id have another crack after watching a load of you tube videos (my experiences never seem to match up to them!) and finally had my lightbulb moment, where everything clicked. I've now realized how big a part server choice plays in your experience, previously i used to try any server just to get in and have a game, didn't look at the type, mainly just ping and numbers. Since ive come back i look at the server alot more, any related website they have etc to try and get more of an idea on the server. I cant tell you how much of a difference its made , ive found a server who have very strong admins, have events, and seem to have a large core of players who arent in it just to play team deathmatch in elektro. The experience of a good server makes this awsome game so much better, for instance last night i spent a few hours on the usual solo scavenging but then got caught up in a hijacking, ended up losing all my gear, then got taken in by a group of friendlies and eventually stole all my gear back, an experience more akin to the you tube vids you see....and for a change didnt die at all. So for anyone who like me used to just click on a server to get a game, take a few mins to find out about the server and i'm sure you'll have a better experience

same since today, have tried all steps people have said and have now fully reinstalled from scratch. same issue on multiple servers

So after following advise when respawning I've been visiting Cherno to grab loot..however after dieing many times I gave up on that idea and on my latest spawn just went north straight away This worked well, sneaking through small towns / barns I've netted a hatchet, some food a water bottle a pistol, matches, compass map and a knife, enough to get by I've made it up to stary sobar and the town Side was dead, I had free reign in the supermarket getting a better bag, binos pistol ammo etc, so all was good...however now my dilemma Whilst technically I could go off to the woods and survive nicely for a while, I've seen some vids of the military part of the town and the fact I have no main weapon only a pistol is tempting me to go there...however the videos of snipers in the area killing people are putting me off!! I have no friends in game so am solo....do I make a run for the loot or make a run for the hills??

Same here working fine until i updated to the new patch, have also downloaded the new beta patch but i either get waiting for host or the fading in and out of black, tried 15+ servers including some that are updated. Joy -
New player , rage, frustration , guilt and death
Rosseeles replied to Rosseeles's topic in New Player Discussion
Just to clarify the frustrations are good, you learn from them! Really enjoying the game hence why I wanted to make a post My only concern is that I got dc'd last night so am hoping when I log in a I have all my recently 'aquired' gear...although karma should probably take it all off me! -
Totally came across this game by accident ( from a post on a world of Warcraft forum!) bought arms 2 etc off steam, by yesterday evening I was ready to go ( I'm a zombie genre lover, seriously this game was made for me)... I just wanted to share my first couple of hours with you. Well like a good few people in the first hour I was ready to quit, first death came within 3 minutes, spawned..ran to a building, got eaten. Grrr Second death 5 mins later, concept of stealth was taken on board, found a house but couldn't get in wtf I thought as I couldn't get up a small step to get in the house...the zombie chewing on my back only added to the frustration. 3 rd spawn I lasted longer, but in 50 minutes I found no supplies, no weapons nothing, I was sneaking like a ninja, but getting nowhere fast...I died falling from a crane into some zombies...again frustrating, but all of a sudden it felt like I was getting somewhere. Finally on the 4th spawn ( and last to date!) I got the hang of it, found a barn, got an axe and a crossbow, some drink as well, killed my 1st couple of zeds and felt like a king and at this point I met my first player... Whilst casually walking up a hill I noticed in the tree line a prone player with a sniper rifle, I watched for a while he did nothing, though occasionally moved...I assume he was watching the village below , I walked up bold as brass, not crouching, still he did nothing...now I've no idea what came over me, but the next thing I knew, a couple of strikes of my axe and the player was dead, I looted him took the rifle, pistol all sorts of ammo and food and felt awesome, my rifle looked great, I was stocked with food and loot....but Jesus that didn't last long, guilt took over quickly...I'm not a player killer usually in games I love to work with people and figure things out....but this game just makes you so desperate to get the goods to survive. Well I guess I've made my bed now, when someone teams up with me then shoots me in the back ill have no comeback, greed, fear, necessatiy call it what you like, but this game has it in abundance...it's far from perfect but what an amazing first couple of hours I've had......let's hope this game carries on like that!
