I've survived several days. 400+ zombie kills and 1 bandit kill was my best so far. I'm sure many people have gone 5k+ zombie kills. I eventually died last night when coming down the stairs and running into a survivor and I mistook him for my friend (who was actually still upstairs). That's the main reason why they really need different skins. I need to know who is who, and now that the bandit skins are dying off I don't know who to shoot and who not to shoot. I'll know who to shoot once the survivor skins are more diverse.

Date/Time: 5/21/2012 9:30PM PST What happened: After the first server restart following the upgrade to 1.5.8.2 this evening, I logged back in to find the ATV that my friend and I had found and fixed was completely gone and everything in it. Also, after losing the ATV we searched around the places we had been driving to see if it had rolled back. Oddly enough, our tent (which we had emptied and taken down) had re-appeared after the server restart. It was empty, but there. Also, stuff that we had stolen from some guy's other tent had re-appeared, so we re-stole it. Where you were: The far northeast corner of the map on top of the hill north of that little inlet that sticks in to the map a ways. What you were doing: We were driving around looking for a new place to pitch our storage tent when people started talking about server resets. Immediately we got off the ATV and saved it on top of the hill. We know it was my old tent because I was able to pack it up and take it again. Oddly enough, I had kept the original tent in my main inventory so now we have two tents. -Searched around where we originally found the ATV, but didn't find it. However, we did find that some stuff in another guy's tent had re-spawned. We had stolen it earlier, but it was back after the restart. We never did find the ATV, or all of the sweet gear that we were transporting with it. So sad :(

My server crashed (or restarted) and the problem went away. It also seemed like our temp stopped dropping. Perhaps the server stopped calculating temp and it cleared up the problem.

I've run this game on two machines that are identical except for the following features. -Power supply (not an issue) -Case (not an issue) -Video Card (One has a Radeon 5830, the other has a 550Ti) -One machine installed with Steam, the other installed with the Amazon download Otherwise our machines are identical. Windows 7 64bit 8 gigs of corsair Dominator 1600 i5 Ivy Bridge 3.1ghz ASRock Extreme 4-m OCZ Agility 3 240GB Both machines played on the same servers during my testing. So here's the question. What feature does everybody have who is experiencing this problem? -ATI Radeon card -Steam Installed Arma 2 OpArrowhead Could those Steam or the ATI be causing a problem for some, and not others? EDIT: More information. The server that I regularly play on just ground to a halt. (Seattle Anti-Sardine Alliance) After the restart, it ran slick as a whistle. 90FPS. I'll update later if the FPS slowly chugs down. PS: A tent duplicated randomly when we logged in, even though we hadn't been doing anything with tents but storage.

For me, my goal is to get my friends into the game and help them out. Teamwork makes the game almost endless. Get enough people together and you could control entire cities and servers. Go from server to server dominating all who oppose you, and reward those who abide by the rules.

Yet another update. I just joined a server with overcast skies but daylight that gave me 40FPS consistently, and then found another server with pitch black darkness that gave me only 17FPS. Both of those are lower than normal since my settings are at minimum right now and normally I can get a nice 60fps (vsync on) at 1920x1200 and decently high settings and shadows. It's just funny that different servers behave completely differently when it comes to the FPS on my client system. This is a really weird performance bug.

I tried several servers now. It seems the darker it is the higher my FPS. The brighter it is, the lower the FPS is. Could this be linked to sunlight/temperature somehow?

This is still good feedback about usability. We have nobody to blame but Arma 2 though. Maybe in the future we'll get a better inventory system. Other issues take higher priority at this time I'm sure.

Oddly enough, my game runs way better now than it did before. I can turn on shadows and stuff where before it would lag me to heck. Looks like they'll be fixing your guys' performance issues all fairly soon though.

This isn't carebear QQing, this is a serious issue. I bet it's fixed in 5.8.3 or equivalent. Thank god logging out and logging back in resets your fed status to... well... almost full... sometimes.

Henry Rifle .44 Cal Rim Fire 15 rounds http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_rifle no reason really not to have a 'shotgun' - there are modern .44 mag Shot Shells for Pistols .......... Ummm... do YOU know YOUR rifle history? The 1886 is not a Henry rifle, but they do fire similar rounds in the rifle version. .44 Henry and .44-40 Winchester are (for the most part) interchangeable. There is a shotgun variant of the 1886, but it sure doesn't hold 15 rounds of 12 guage 2-3/4 inches. The game originally confused the shotgun with the rifle. Now they got it (mostly) correct. Slugs will behave similarly to a Henry in .44-40 Winchester, and pellets are now gone. The gun in DayZ is a "shotgun", but they're going to treat it like the rifle version which actually does hold 15 rounds. We'll just treat slugs like .44-40 rounds for now to make it more (but not exactly) accurate.
