then dont get the standalone, dean hall deservers some cash for all the work hes done. dayz is a mod for arma, most people bought it for dayz, bad luck if u dont want to pay again. dean didnt get any money for the mod, show some fucking respect. No one cares if only YOU dont want to pay again, to be hounest, i dont give a fuck if you dont pay for the stand alone, this game doesnt need greedy faggots like you. EDIT: Just because you played the alpha/beta doesnt mean you dont have to pay for the standalone.

no, that will ruin the whole concept of the game. if everyone has the same skin or a survivor like skin then you cant tell whos a bandit and whos not. Also if all your data is saved on one server, when its full you cant play, its fine how it is.

i like it the idea, in my opinion though, ropes can pull vehicles, hog tie? maybe but then you could replace that with handcuffs.

i liked the map being in russia, not sasying i want the same map, infact i want a larger one where everyone is unfammiliar with it. but with the aftermath being in russia it just makes it better and suitable.

You are a survivor that has arrived in chernogorsk, AFTER the aftermath. There is already some system in the game that when you are hit by a zombie WHILE bleeding you have a small chance to get an infection, and to cure it you need antibiotics. -
So if what your saying is that they do almost identicle damage ect, why does one have such a major advantage in the game?

What im trying to tell you is the difference between bolt action and semi-auto. If it works in small scale it obviously works in a larger scale. There is a reason why the army uses bolt action rifles. Asif you could reply to me with something this stupid, didnt you just read my recent posts on this thread?

funny i was about to make a post on this as well, i might make it later when im not busy, anyway.. The weapons in this game such as SMG's, Pistols and some assault rifles such as the ak74's have been heavily nearfed. Taking up to 14 shots to kill a player! more than the magazine capasity. Now I think having a bullet proof vest is a great idea but first we either have to increase the damage on these weapons, or lowering our blood count from 12k to 10k, and when you put on a vest it increases it to 12k again or something similar. Here are the weapon damage tables. Something has to be done with these weapons before we introduce bullet proof vests. http://dayzdb.com/news/weapon-changes-in-arma2-162 These nerfed weapons are apsolutely USELESS. 12-14 shots to kill a player is f*cking rediculous.

Yeah i think its a good idea, but you'd have to have specific ammo boxes, like 5.56 and 7.62 and 9mm. Great idea i reckon, it adds to the realism, and no big downside, exept, should we make them carryable? or able to destroy them so other players cannot take ammo? Also there has to be a limit on these boxes so people cant camp in a building with infinite ammunition.

Have you ever fired a .22 at a rabbit (bolt action) at about 300-400 meters? I have, then i tried it with a semi-automatic .22 rifle. Exactly the same bullet yet one is useless after 400meters, it runs out of power because 30% of the power is going into pushing back the bolt, and ejecting the shell, therefore making the bolt action dominant depending on your situation, ofcourse no ones going to be running around with .22 shooting zombies with them but you get my point. You said, the velocities will be nearly identicle with a 7.62 and a .303, that doesnt meen it gives it more power. The m16 has a higher velocity than an ak47, but an ak47 has more stopping power because its bullet is bigger, though you cant hit shit with it but thats not the point. Because of the bolt action mechanism the .303 will travel further because it has more power behind it. You said their velocities are almost identicle, though this doesnt give it more power, but if you think so why would the m14 and Fn Fal have a major advantage over the Lee Enfield if they have the same velocities? 8000 damage for the 7.62x51mm & only 6722 damage for the Lee Enfield. They obviously got something wrong, thats the entire point of this thread.

I disagree, when a new player starts he/she should know that they are unarmed and therefore vulnerable to zombies. If you think about it, the first time we played, we were shit scared of zombies. If you give people weapons when they spawn they loose that fear of death when they start DayZ, also the first thing players need to learn when they start is to be stealthy, if they have a hatchet then they would have a sence of security. And lastly, starting with a hatchet wouldent fit the game.

Firstly, that 10-30% of the power is lost because of the recoil mechanism. When the bullet if fired it has to push back the spring so the shell can be ejected and the next bullet chambered. Now with a bolt action rifle you have to manually chamber the next round by pulling back the bolt and forward, when it's fired the bullet doesnt have to push back a bolt or anything so all the power goes into the bullet. Also, the army wouldnt have bolt action rifles for no reason, for those people who say they are more accurate than a normal rifle, maybe they are, but that is in the rifling in the barrel, and has nothing to do with the bolt action mechanism itself.

Yes they made another varient that had 7.62x51mm rounds, but the one used in DayZ is the .303 (which is stated in the wiki and the ingame clips.) , and obviously they use cordite in the latest Lee enfield. And incase you didn't notice, bolt action rifles are around 10-30% more powerful than a semi-automatic rifles.
