Consider helping people in less game-y terms. Handing anyone a loaded weapon is a baaaad idea. You never hand anyone a loaded weapon. Ever.

Arma 2 Bullet Travel/Windage/ Other Factors, possible to bombard at 5+km?
Somepants replied to Neokolzia's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Near-impossible. You could give it a go, but gathering the equipment would be an adventure in and of itself, full-auto firing would probably spread your target zone to an extremely huge area, the number of places that wouldn't have sufficient cover to prevent this tactic are staggeringly limited, and even if you did manage to get it in their general area they'd probably be running for cover very quickly. That said, a bunch of those things popping off and bullets getting even reasonably close to the target will probably make them shit themselves if they don't know any better. -
Some PvPers come to DayZ for Easier Kills/Targets

Considering that a large portion of the average person's interactions with games are power-fantasy, yeah probably. -
Bad luck. Spawns have seemed the same since the update for me.

Just bugs. Things'll get more stable eventually.

Either an unarmed zombie death on the beach, or sitting on top of an industrial smokestack with a dinnerbell trying to be friendly. Can't remember.

Yogscast spawned weapons and Admin Help?
Somepants replied to TiredEthan's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well then, as far as I know Rocket is usually against this kind of thing. Usually very much so. -
Ahh...well, the nature of extra bits that I've found is that inevitably the extra bits become either required, or wasted development time. They're useful, or they aren't. If they are, they're mandatory. If they aren't, they go completely ignored. If they're mandatory, it's just one more thing you need to grind to be relevant. I'm sure people do look at the scoreboards and go "dang how'd that guy kill 500 zombies" though. So there's always that bonus for doing it.

Arma's a 15gb download. Dayz itself is pretty small.

Yogscast spawned weapons and Admin Help?

I think they gathered enough shit that they thought they could make a decent video without the hour-long buildup where they gather gear. And then edited it together to look otherwise. And then they had some guy who just followed them around with a pack full of bloodbags from said scavenging incase they got into serious trouble. Cheesy and deceptive, but meh. -
Alright, well, all dicks aside... Most people don't make significant strides in skill or ability without months or years of constant effort. Knowledge and tactics, however, can be learned comparatively quickly. The ability to do the right thing at the right time is often far more telling of skill than base physical conditioning. It is also far more powerful. You will inevitably gain it from having the ability to respawn. I mean, sure, you need physical conditioning and every bit counts, but Arma2-man really is pretty close to the human peak, and has a number of things that make him borderline transhuman.

Pros: Most activity is frantic and intense Cons: minutes of action, hours of playing

how long my character can stay offline?
Somepants replied to trokiijs's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Until the code pixies decide to harvest his data for bits. -
I'm pretty sure the standard-issue Arma2 man-sim is as close to all-around peak physical condition as he's going to get. Let's look at his abilities: Reloads makarov in about a second Runs at a sprinter's speed indefinitely Vaults the moon Can zoom in with his eyes NEED I SAY MORE?

FFA PvP Full Loot games like Dayz breed the worst gaming communities?
Somepants replied to DrBearthon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why everyone's a complete and utter douche online is a question that has hounded me for years. I blame rising computer literacy. Afterthought: Nothing worse than a moba for community. Nothing.
