What? Who? The OP? Because if that's who you mean, then I'm pretty sure killing someone to get a vehicle isn't killing them for no reason other than to grief.

There seems to be a problem where a server reset (caused by a crash or whatever) will cause tents and vehicles to become lost. However the next time the server is reset the vehicles will spawn again. This is listed on on the DayZ wiki under known bugs. As far as I know, it is impossible for people to take a tent that you have set up, so that leaves two options; they either stole the vehicle and ran over your tent with it, or the server has been reset and now has the vehicle spawn bug. This has happened to me every time I have found a vehicle, so far I've lost two bicycles, an offroad pickup, two ATVs, and a tractor because the server has been reset as I'm driving, looting in places where people will find them before I can get them back after the server reset, so if you're prepared to wait, your best bet is to go back to where you left your tent, and just log in every now and then to check if it's reappeared back where you left it. If your tent's not there assume it's the bug, if your tent is there but your ATV isn't then assume someone has taken your vehicle. Pro-tip: If you have a vehicle you intend to keep for yourself, surround it with tank traps before you log out. This'll pretty much half the amount of people that can steal it as it'll be off limits to anyone without a toolbox.

I'm currently using version 1.7.2 of Dayz through Six Launcher with the Steam version of Combined Ops. My problem is that after the 1.7.2 update, I appear to have two different characters on the go, and it's a gamble which character loads every time I join a server, with only a very slim chance of my fully equipped character loading (which is irritating because me and a friend are playing this together). The other character (which is the one that loads the most) has only starting gear, and every time it loads this character I just have to quit and find a server that will successfully load my good character. This started when I was disconnected from a server and I lost all the progress I'd made in that server, I then joined a different server which loaded up my previous save like I'd never joined the server I got disconnected from. This character (my good character) went adventuring to Berezino with my friend for a day or two, but the next time I joined a server to play with him, it loaded the progress that I had lost, and was in Cherno. I backed out and rejoined hoping it would load me in Berezino, but it kept loading me in Cherno. I played for a bit thinking that Berezino was now lost and I would have to make my way back there, but Cherno eventually died and I quit, thinking I would have to start from scratch another day, but the next time I joined, it loaded Berezino, and now it either loads a new character with nothing, or it loads Berezino with no real rhyme or reason to which one it's going to load other than that I think it might be server based, but if I select a server that seems to load Berezino more, it seems to have a very high chance of failing to load and idling on the loading/waiting for character to create screens. I've tried creating a new profile and deleting all profile information in My Documents along with a complete reinstall of all ARMA 2 and Dayz related content to no avail, but I understand that characters are saved to a master-server, so if anyone has any information on this problem then please let me know if there is anything I can do on my end to fix this situation.
