  1. I don't understand your point. What would stop anyone on your set dr from merely walking to it?

Weapons how do i find these guns?

I don't really understand your question. Where are you looking? As far as I understand it, O is the universal donor, AB is the universal recipient, while A and B can make use of O or their own type.
  3. Calling it "basically cheating" is, basically, calling it cheating. Trying to wiggle out on such a slim pretext seems rather desperate. But, as others have said, it isn't cheating, nor is it an exploit. A lot of people don't agree with it, which is fine, but to demonize it with such labels is an attempt to sidestep the very basic fact that Rocket and co are aware, and have always been aware, of how third person can be used, and have decided to leave it in. That's not an exploit or cheating, that's a developer sanctioned style of play.

  5. Yes, but the issue is when your character makes the switch weapons while sprinting animation while you are walking or standing still.
  6. I've had the same happen to me in numerous occasions (not the falling, but suddenly sprinting when I pull out a weapon. It seems to be a known bug.

    Ingrowing Toenails

Your move, console shooters. You can squat on people. We will soon be shitting on them.
  8. They pick it because it's the only viable choice in most cases. Every other weapon (aside, perhaps, from fists) is woefully inefficient.

144Hours found my first mosin + LRS

How is everyone having such a difficult time finding one? I've spotted 3 in my last dozen hours of playing. And only one of them was on a corpse.

I've got it. The reason bandits wear military gear!

Hey, if those games allowed you to handcuff people, throw a sack over their heads, and force-feed them garbage and poison, you know they would embrace it. Each game has it's more abrasive players.

I've got it. The reason bandits wear military gear!

Whatever one's opinion on the games, they are games a lot of people want to play. I've been playing the Titanfall beta this last week, and while it's most certainly a console style shooter, I've still been having fun. Not enough fun to buy it, as I get bored of those games quickly, it's obviously going to find it's customer base.

    Steam Achievements

You don't care, but you say no? I don't care one way or another, and I don't see why anyone would be bothered by them. I am not the kind of person who likes them, but it also doesn't affect me, so who cares? And for those who like them? They get an extra carrot, I suppose.

Came expecting another whine thread, left pleasantly surprised.

I'm a fan of false walls myself.

Please add a mall to the game somewhere

Agreed. I'd love to see an urban map in the future, computers be damned. There's something about a decayed cityscape and the differences in trying to survive in that particular environment that really appeals to me.
  16. Is the church in electro open? Some are and some aren't, but I'm sure I've seen talon backpacks in them.
  17. I said no, as it doesn't fit the lore. Also, if you dig a few pages, you will find this poll was already started by someone else. Correction, that poll is on the first page.
  18. If your aim and timing is right, you can constantly knock the zombies down. They'll still get a few hits on you, but only a few.

Anyone know how moddable the standalone is?

Sorry, I was replying more in regards to your statement that modding causes hacking, which I was hoping you could supply some more information on. To my knowledge, though I am not infallible, modding didn't open the game up to additional vulnerabilities. All the hacking was a result of the engine architecture itself. Granted, there is a correlation, in that the engine is designed to allow modding, and it is the engine's flaws that allow hacking, but to state that modding causes hacking is incorrect. It is possible to both allow modding and to close many of the holes created by the old, heavily client based, architecture. But to not allow modding before the engine rework is complete makes sense, as those sorts of changes are likely to alter the technical ways I. Which the mods work, breaking them.

Care to back up that statement?

First off, attitude. Check it. Second off, Rocket has always stated modding with be a part of SA. It is, after all, what made him successful. Third, your argument makes little sense. You seem to dislike people with "ADHD," or who play "CoD," but you're angry when they stop playing with you? Finally, the reason servers for mods like Epoch are more popular than vanilla DayZ is simply because there is more demand for them. People found these mods to be subjectively better products. Just as DayZ was a subjectively better and more popular experience than Arma 2. But you don't hear people screaming that we should keep Arma 2 pure, do you? This issue has come up and been discussed at some length already. You should go check out one of those threads, and become acquainted with the various arguments.

    Is a backpack a necessary?

I've got about 14 hours on my latest guy wearing an orange mountain and a UN beret. I've been shot at, but I've come out on top every time. I think it unnerves people.

    Let's talk about heavy weapons

Arma 2 has destroy able buildings. There's no reason to assume that part of the game written out.
