Just hit Berezino last night for the first time, taking the eastern route back from NWAF. It was the first time I've been there, and the first time I've been to the hospital and larger residential buildings. Was completely empty, the military camp, aparments, supermarket, and hospital were all fully loaded. I also encountered a glitched out hopper zombie who spotted me across a field while I was prone, and taking him down with the AKM drew another dozen... Had anyone been watching, I probably would have been dead. Oh well, I guess I was lucky.

Part of the issue is that once you are well geared, there is not a lot that the game offers in regards to challenge. There are players who are happy living up north, who see how long they can survive off the land, or those who have other RP goals. There are some who like to establish campsites, stockpile weapons, gear, and vehicles. But as far as I have seen, both groups are in the minority, and they will get bored like anyone else. Most people, though. see little else to do once their equipped and turn eventually to the one constant challenge: other people.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems my experience is very typical, which is a shame, really. I've only had one "good" experience with a stranger, on my second day. A real-life friend and I were trying to meet up. He had spawned west of Cherno, and I east of Elektro. At this point we both knew very little of the geography, so to make meeting up easier, we both followed a set power lines towards each other. When we found each other I noticed a player, armed, was following my friend. I called out "friendly" and he asked if we were armed and what we were doing up in the mountains. I told him--truthfully if not exactly wisely--that we had only an axe between us, and had spent an hour trying to meet up. He contemplated this for a minute before telling us to run down towards the coast. He told us he would keep his weapon trained on us until we were far enough away for him to safely continue on his way. Despite his promise not to shoot, we zigged and zagged our asses off. That's the closest either of us has had to a peaceful encounter. Neither of us are willing to trust others anymore.

That's normal on Veteran servers. It can probably be disabled on recruit servers as well.

Hey folks. I died earlier, and rstarted a new character. Things were going well, I had some luck with barns a a supermarket, where I found lots of food and drink, an axe, and an enfield. Three hours into this character, the game minimized and every time I switch back to the game, it minimizes again. So I closed the game through task manager, and rejoin the server I was playing. Here's where things get wierd. Upon rejoining, I find myself in a totally different area, extremely low on blood and with entirely different gear. I've reverted back to my previous life! What can I do to fix this? Anything? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. Updated to 1,7.2.2 automatically, couldn't join any servers, rolled back to 7.2, and can't join any 1.7.2 servers. I get "Wait for Host" irregardless.
