I was approaching a deer stand when suddenly I went first person prone and saw a bunch of rabbits run by me. I couldn't get out of 1st person prone view. I then heard a bunch of sounds like an axe or crowbar hits and saw a bunch of deaths scroll by. People started coming on voice chat. At that point I quit DayZ. I'm not sure if I was killed or not.

Yeah my favorite was when I broke my legs a 3-hour crawl from a hospital by going prone next to a rock and then standing up. Was going to suicide but luckily a buddy came on Skype and came by to rescue me.

The large pine trees are your friends because their branches reach the ground. Run through one (or two together) and a zombie will lose sight of you. He will then look around for you so make sure to keep the tree between you and him while you keep running. Another tip: Don't run on roads. The noise you generate goes WAY up compared to staying on the grass next to the road. HTH
