Out of all my friends who play this (about 12), at least 6 complained to me about those graphical issues, with them all having various configurations (AMD-NV, Intel-NV, AMD-AMD, Intel-AMD etc) so yes, I do claim it's 50% because of the variety of the configurations and those that report issues. But then again, only those complain that do get close to said areas where the bugs are obvious (NWAF, near military places...), so not everyone may notice it. On a side-note: Rocket released 1.7.2.5 as manual hotfix to fix said issues now. So, just for you: :3

Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Hah, yesterday I've written to someone who felt that those wanting those bugs fixed are "self-entitled" (his words) that there may just be a hotfix to fix those said issues, and now this. -
Low Res Textures....
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to infinitegrim's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They're listed as DLC for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. http://store.steampowered.com/app/65700/ for BAF, http://store.steampowered.com/app/65720/ for PMC. -
Rather rush out one or two updates that are aimed to fix one screw-up from a previous patch than making about 50% of all users of the mod have an unplayable experience for at least 1-2 weeks just to add "more" to an update. Hotfixes can fix more than bigger patches may fix. Consider this: A hotfix for the graphics issues may also bring bugs, but a patch that contains said fix and dozens new features may bring even more bugs (and I'm certain it will, given the nature of this mod and how buggy the engine tends to be). So yeah, we're self-entitled because there's a graphical issue related to some 3D-models that may be fixable in a small, easy-to-do hotfix which would immediately make the game playable again for a ton of players?

Low Res Textures....
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to infinitegrim's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You'd need both Private Military Company and British Armed Forces (basically called "ARMA 2: Reinforcements") if you really want all the things to be high-resolution. The PMC-DLC gives high-res textures to the default player-skins and maybe one or two other things that I cannot name from the top of my head. However, even though the PMC-DLC has the AS50 included (if you check in the Armory while owning PMC only you'll have an AS50 with high-res textures), the AS50 in DayZ will still have blurry textures! The BAF-DLC gives high-res textures to the Camo Clothing skin, the Ghillie Suit skin (the BAF-Ghillie seems to have better-fitting colours for Chernarus, which may be why rocket took those over the ones from the USMC/Chedaki), one (or more?) vehicles (Old Hatchback but I may be wrong on this) and the AS50. -
"Apocalyptic wasteland" makes it sound like this is Fallout, while it's not. It's quite plausible that there is military-equipment around, actually. All those dead soldiers and broken down military-vehicles... Those were army-men fighting the zombies in the initial hours of the apocalypse is my thought. I doubt they had Lee Enfields to kill said zombies.

Hacking is ruining this game.

Yeah, because it's fun dying to something for no reason whatsoever or being harassed permanently. -
[OFFICIAL] 1.7.2.4 -- Stuck at loading screen
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to Benlandia's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Yes. From what I read on the 1.7.2.4 post, you REQUIRE beta 95389. To launch that with Steam: 1) Install 95389 - if you need it: http://www.dayzmod.com/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_95389.zip 2) Since you start it through Steam you should have launch parameters set up for "-mod=@dayz" if I'm right? In that case: Change that to "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;@dayz", then grab the arma2oa.exe from the Expansion\beta folder and overwrite your main arma2oa.exe inside the root folder of arma 2 operation arrowhead (as in: The original file). 3) If you start the game up now it should say 95389 and 1.7.2.4 in the lower right. -

So what do i do now i've been hacked teleported.....
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to Devmagic's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Very handy, was teleported right into water once, aborted out in the water, joined one of those servers and could swim to the shore without losing all my gear. I wish more servers disable "enableitemsdropping" for water. -
This automatic update from Steam CO screwed up my six launcher...
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to OddGamer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The Steam-Version always shows that. Just hit OK and let it update. Should work. -
Whats the point of getting a M16/M4A1/AKS-7U etc?
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to tbartoli13@iskl.edu.my's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
... What, why? The M4 CCO SD is one of the best guns in the game because it's silent and you won't attract every player in cities towards you. Especially handy at night. Plus, zombies turn into shooting gallery puppets with it. -
official 1.62 patch is out
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to paintface's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just tried it out. Started up DayZ with the official patch and -mod=@dayz instead of the -beta= stuff. Works like a charm. Joined a server that said 95251 as version. Version says it's 1.62.95248, thus identical to the beta-patch, but it's not all that identical... The options have the new settings added (ATOC, PPAA) for example and the text-colour, when I connected to that DayZ-Server, was different. The BattlEye-messages were white, for example, while server-messages seemed to have a light blue tint. -

How about you right-click the game, go to Properties, then under "Local Files" you click "Verify integrity of game cache"? Babby's first Steam game? -
What about Dayz dev abuse?
tachifox@live.co.uk replied to TDR Rag's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There's a set of rules laid out for server-owners to follow. Those are in place to keep the gameplay up for everybody equally and prevent things like boosting (by locking the server down), cheating (by deactivating BattlEye) and unfair behaviour to other players (admins kicking players that killed any admin and/or the admin's friends/clan-mates). Those rules should be public to them and as such do count. If the server-owners don't follow the rules, then that's their problem. The DayZ dev-team laid those out and expects server-owners to follow them. Break the rules? Server gets blacklisted. That's how it goes.
