[admins/mods] please delete all topics concerning hacking/scripting
Red_Sky replied to pillerking@yahoo.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes I know that hacking itself is an obvious issue which is why I'm pointing it out. It's not the threads which encourage hacking, its the obvious fact that Arma II is so vulnerable to scripts. Well yes threads do encourage to an extent but once the knowledge of the effort needed to use scripts in DayZ is found (which were in our faces long before threads were) the threads' effects to encourage are minuscule compared to it. The only reason they should exist now is to present the current state of DayZ to would-be buyers. Edit: Calm down, I swear everyone on this forum is on steroids or some shit. -
lol thanks for your input. your call is very important to us.

Well, no. the problem itself is being able to hack. I'm sure other forums would allow threads discussing hack issues if they were as rampant as DayZ's scripters are. But which games do they not allow hack threads? if it's something like counter-strike, not the best example. -

I bet you're one of those people who "like" photos on facebook made by group pages. "1 like = 1 prayer like if you cried every time" -

they're virtually spam. they are spamming without realising it. or they are spamming in the name of misguided justice. Motherofgod..... -
It tells me you don't use the search bar and other similar threads that actually contain useful information. There's not much they can do at the moment, it's an Arma II issue not a Dayz Issue. The best you can do is private hive servers and wait out the storm until the standalone. As mentioned in other threads. Idiot.

I'm actually more sick of posts like these rather than the hackers themselves.

Give the zombies and your interactions with zombies more capability of just punching as well. Quicktime grabs Ideas from left 4 dead: >Breakable doors and large windows >Damage to repaired vehicles sets off alarms Ability to knock zombies away with assault rifles and shotguns if they come too close Stealth kills with a hunting knife if you sneak up on a zed or player and adds a new element to sneaking >Stealth kills on players probably need a 1-2 second delay to prevent people from just sprinting behind someone, press crouch and spam the button for the one-hit kill. >Zombies, while unable to kill from one shot unless already injured to an extent, will do more damage and injuries if they grab you from the rear. If fire is expanded on in the standalone, Zombies that are caught aflame by an explosion or flaming weapon (flamethrower / torch if ever implemented) can set fire to people / certain buildings. Barns in particular are extra vulnerable to flame. Whether zeds can be killed by the flame or simply depends on how long it takes to reduce the flesh to ashes is unsure.

Why do DayZ players worship Mountain Dew?

I've been playing Day Z for a while, and it was obvious far before this that shooting online, in itself, is fun but there are far more enjoyable occurrences. Surely, your most enjoyable online experience was not simply because you shot someone. It could've been because that shot was epic Or hilarious. Hopefully (and most likely) it was because something totally unexpected happened and your mate's character model appeared deformed and couldn't pick yourself up from laughing despite having your character killed whilst this all goes on. I have no doubt shooting people on DayZ is fun, especially if they are a legitimate threat that reaped mass rewards. If you truly do enjoy the simple idea of shooting others, whether for the thrill, your disciplined way of gearing up or simply to cause other players angst; Then let it be. That is your choice and you no longer need to read this. However, this is for those who say they they shoot to preserve the life of their character yet uphold the idea of "Never get attached to your gear" and shoot out of fear, not entirely certain if the other player was a threat. Surely if you did not value gear and/or having to re-gear, shooting would be the last, if not one of the last options you'd have to make when coming across another survivor. Perhaps that is me just and my risky playstyle and high hopes and values for the possibilities in human interaction but I want you to ask yourself the question as mentioned before: If you really do shoot out of fear to preserve your current character's life (I do not mean in retaliation of an already engaged firefight) are you truly following the first rule of DayZ? You're welcome to share your stories and reasons of course. Discuss. Edit: Due to the volatile nature of Day Z, I should've provided an example. Some of you may think I'm just running across open fields. Example: You're approaching a town, you are somewhat and certain you can survive without the intervention of a teleporting invincible as50. However you spot another player whom you can kill. he is just as geared as you are it seems, maybe a bit less. czech backpacks looks aite, but ALICE still wins. Despite being a decent distance away from you, he is still too close for comfort. You have chosen to kill and you are successful. In this scenario, trigger-happy reactions from round the corner AKM sprays is Non-applicable. You had time to analyze the situation and you made the choice. Despite killing him, do you still consider the idea that you uphold the "1st Rule of DayZ"? The items he dropped were near useless to you, you did this out of your own safety.
