I wish there was a count to see how many flares I've thrown :) or how long, cumulative, I've used a flashlight. and the darkness is based on time. After 2 am the moon is overhead

I bought arma 2 on steam before the sale, but no. I don't. Because it was around before that. Look at his posts(rocket's), he's clearly a bandit :) Even his signature was the gif of him killing some guy for an open can of beans. At least I imagine it's him x)

Instinct makes me smile If you spawn in wilderness, you just need to quit and rejoin, you get put on a coast spawn with all your gear back. this was fixed last patch

why?

throw a weapon? you mean flare, chemlight, grenade, cants etc? not an actual gun right?

i love how accurately dayZ reveals humanity's douchebaggery. I understand the wanting to shoot on sight because you got fucked over, I've been killed many times for no good reason. But never goto the dark side. The hardest game to play in DayZ is the nice guy game :)

We should address a bigger issue here. Why the hell can't we aim a flashlight and run at the same time. A human's brain would coordinate signals between the eyes and hands to point the flashlight and correct for shakiness.

thats why I like rightclick taking me to ironsights. Although some guns you can learn where the crosshair is actually pointing by looking at it, then right clicking to goto iron sights and see where you are really aiming. I can headshot zombies from the hip with my AK 3rd person. Although I'm getting better with no crosshair too :D alot of those skills came from Killing Floor.

i had a problem of getting kicked a lot, then I figured out I had 2 instances of dayZ going and I was trying to join a server I was already in. derp Regardless, we'd need more info, like what does it say when it kicks you?

some servers have their own character data. Most don't.

3rd person is best person. IMO of course. players need that kind of perception that you don't get when using 1st person. It makes up for lost senses.

how far in did he go in water filling a bottle of water? it shouldn't have been too far enough to not be able to look down into the water and be able to get your gear. Just getting your feet wet is far enough. Sounds like he was doing it wrong.

realism? in this game? There are mods for Arma 2 that let you dive down, so maybe you could recover with something like that. But that mod is for Arma 2, kinda like dayZ is :)

it stop dropping @ 6k. at least it was last time I've seen one. Infections are annoying :D

It's random. farmland or field open ares make it easiest to scout for animals. Go to a high area and look down across the whole field. I've found goats and chickens in towns (even cherno :D) though... But farmland/ open fields are your best bet. Be wary! Make sure your ready to take the meat as soon as you kill. sometimes the animals despawn very fast. Sometimes they like to alt+f4 on you too xD I'm slow :D

Bigger animals give more meat. Cows give 8 meat steaks, Chickens 1. Sheep 5, goats 4. I believe.... you have to cook them to eat them. bring a hatchet to cut wood, matches to light :D or use fires you can light else in cities/ big industrial complexes

I think the bitching about gun damage is more about the PvP aspect of dayZ. I haven't noticed a problem killing zombies. But I'm usually over 60% headshot rate :)

I run through six launcher, don't even need steam on. Just add day Z to your non steam games list and it will show you're playing it :)
