Yer the inventory system is just like real life, I can't remember the number of times I've tried to put something in my backpack and it just disappeared from existence because there wasn't room for it in the backpack. -

The inventory system is a lot like the rest of the game, fair but very unforgiving of mistakes. Instead of telling you that you can't move something it just makes that thing vanish, once you learn those sorts of lessons the hard way it is bearable. -

I don't think buggy is the right term (unless you count your ammo refilling by itself), I've never had anything just vanish it has always been because I have done something wrong. But clunky, yes absolutely. -
town takeovers (i dont know if already suggested)
schrapple replied to apache25's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There shouldn't be better loot in captured safe towns, but there does need to be a reason to capture a town and try to grow and defend it. Exactly what those reasons are depend on what the stand alone is like, but I'd really like to see a barter based exchange that goes across all servers open once a town became large enough. -

As much as I hate to admit it the inventory system does work, it is just very clunky. Once you learn how it works ( this normally requires losing a few cool items along the way) it is functional, but far from good. -
Look out on the Aussie servers if there is a player with a ping about 230, they are American kids on there hacking. Every time you have a player with a high ping you will get hacking.

Complaining about day-z is like seeing someone build a car in their back shed that will do a lap of the Nerburgring in 4 minutes and criticizing it because it hasn't got power windows. I'm just thankful we have a game that has broken free of the grey blog of gaming where every new release is just a prettier copy of the previous release.- 110 replies

I knew the Lee Enfield was loud but this just takes the biscuit.

Found an enfield with 70 rounds in a barn, shoot one zombie. next thing I had used 70 rounds to kill 70 zombies and they just kept coming, it is near to suicide to fire. -
If a zombie spots you run away in the crouch position, it won't be able to catch you and you won't attract as much attention as if you sprint away. Also don't shoot on sight, it won't make you safe it will just make you a dick.

ARMA 2 released, no one cares. Someone makes a zombie mod, everyone wants to turn mod back into ARMA 2? Go figure, got my stuffed.

http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/82874-returning-npc-population-to-secured-towns/ Check this out, sort of along the same lines. -
Only to you, think about that.

Warning you that your posts are nearly unreadable and put you across as imature which will result in the vast majority of people dismissing them instantly isn't helping? Childish writing will prevent you from being taken seriously.
-
It's not that it's not perfect, it's that it is so bad it's barely recognisable as English. The whole point to a text based forum is to convey your ideas in written form, if what you write is nearly unreadable then you are just wasting everybody's time.

You shouldn't feel any remorse for taking something from a bandit, they are not nice people.
-
If you're too lazy to at least attempt to use correct spelling and grammar on a public forum then don't complain that people criticize you.
-
If you can't be bothered to use correct English and grammar then go write somewhere else.
-
Don't complain about grammar? For the love of god you couldn't even spell it right. Civilization is based on the fact that we can communicate through language and you want me to not care that you're trying to destroy that? You know you've made mistakes so you're clearly not ignorant of your pathetic English, it just comes across as pure laziness.

The important thing to remember when talking about issues involving bronies or carebears is that NO ONE GIVES A FUCK!

I was thinking to combat the fact that once you get a bit of knowledge and gear zombies become a bit too easy to deal with, we need to introduce the occasion zombie which has a special ability. I've got a few ideas but would like to hear other peoples suggestions. Here are my ideas. 1. A howler zombie - A zombie which alerts all the other zombies in the area to your presence when it goes agro. 2. An ambush zombie - Basically a zombie that will take cover or hide in a building and will then strike out at you when you are close enough (the idea that every room you enter could have a zombie in the cupboard ready to pounce would be tense) 3. A possum zombie - A zombie which would lay on the ground and play dead, if you got near enough to it then it would strike. 4. A tracking zombie - A zombie that will never lose you once you set it off, it will follow you forever even if you take off in a vehicle. Imagine stopping in the forest to adjust your gear and a zombie you pissed off 20 minutes before finds you with no warning. 5. An armed zombie - A zombie that has a melee weapon (like a bat or a hatchet) that can deal you significant damage with one hit. That's all I could think of off the top of my head (nothing to crazy there like a zombie flying a F-18 or anything), these will no doubt be part of the stand alone and would be rare (I'm not suggesting all zombies have powers). I'm keen to hear anyone elses suggestions.

Suggestions for "smart" zombie wanted
schrapple replied to schrapple's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Thanks for the feed back guys, I'm keen to hear any other ideas on the matter. -
It's simple, click log-out, timer starts, you can stay and watch over your character until timer is up then game auto logs you out. Much simpler system then putting conditions on when it would apply.

There is only one possible way you could know that for sure.
