Wilderness spawn WTF?!

Wilderness spawn should be in the lower right corner of the map, which if you run along with the coast to your right for a while you should see a bridge. Just walk to the VERY top of the bridge and jump off. Instant death, new respawn. Repeat until you get something you want. All other spawns mean that you should be able to get mauled by zombies within 5-10 minutes. -

Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.

Crafting would be awesome, and I think some items should only be obtained through crafting. For example, does anyone actually have a ghillie suit in their closet? I would think not, but they are somewhat easy to make with the right materials. Of course some materials would be harder to find than others but it would make the game more realistic and give another aspect to it. -

Just a question, is the Takistan map like Lingor in the fact it's small, and has loot in just about every 100-200m? Or is it reasonably well sized and has a fair if not scarce amount of loot and large wilderness like Chernarus? -

Yeah, Lingor is kinda like that with the ridiculous amount of military spawns, people that generally find it hard to find military grade weapons acquire them in a matter of hours, even minutes. The point is, pretty much everyone is running around with some sniper or M4/M16 and feel as if this newfound power gives them a right to kill newspawns. Thats the reason I changed my server back to Chernarus, its more enjoyable and makes you work for your gear. -
I'm pretty sure they do with the new patch... I've found 6 so far all with a huge plume of black smoke. Easiest to see while in a heli, but still reasonably noticeable from the ground.

Hacker? This can occur if a helicopter has crashed in or around Elektro, although it is highly likely a hacker spawned a helicopter crash site anyway. The fire doesn't harm your character all it does is bug you when you're trying to see something from a distance. -
Maybe having each weapon only compatible to a number of scopes would be a good idea? Then it would prevent you from putting something like a sniper scope on an LMG

I too played on Australian servers, but then I got an SU-25 to the face. Now I just play on a fun little private hive, with pixies and unicorns where I can muck around and actually find vehicles. Quite fun plus lingor has its advantages.

Maybe you logged out with shock? Idk, there has been a bug going around that whenever you spawn you're instantly knocked unconscious for around 5 mins. -

Yes, but keep in sandbags as they are useful for keeping out zombies. Barbed wire is just a griefing tool. -

And it's people like you who ruin the game. You somehow kill a hacker, find a hacked weapon and think hey, I got it fair and square so why can't I use it? Meanwhile the hacker spawns on the coast and gives himself the weapon again. You are the reason that there are so many hacked weapons in the system, and with the duping bugs things only get worse. So just man up, delete the weapon and continue playing legit. Think about it, if gives you an unfair advantage over other players and on some servers is globally ban-able. Man up, put that weapon on a zombie body and then hide it, you'll be doing yourself and everyone else a favour. -
Problem with these hive wipes everyone is relying on is that until duping is fixed they will do shit all, and some duping methods aren't able to be fixed while using the Arma2 engine. Everyone just looses all their hard earned shit (by everyone I mean the 25% of people who don't partake in this duping/hacking) and then we all go back exactly the same state in within the next few days or even hours.

An increase of ACOG/Holographic scopes would be nice for mid range encounters. At the moment there are only really close range red-dot scopes and rifle scopes, with the exception of the M16 ACOG and M4 Holo, which are both reasonably rare weapons.

I don't think you have been reading anything... people are getting milgrade kills with low tier gear and strict server rules are keeping them from banning these hackers. Plus hackers don't have 'the balls' to get their own shit, they just spawn it in right after they log in at the coast. Being simply shot by a hacker isn't always the problem, I've been run into by chinooks and my entire squad was killed by multiple strafe runs. Hackers don't simply shoot you, they blow you to pieces.
