My friend had logged off for the night, it was about 2am, I was just checking out this place before logging off. It was pitch black, and without any Night Vision Goggles I was forced to use the rather lackluster flashlight. As I was exiting the compound, I noticed something in the treeline. A tall, dark figure. I froze in place, "No, it can't be... " I thought. To my horror, my assumption wasn't wrong. It was any ARMA players worst nightmare.... Shaquille O'Neal It was at this point my character was pelted with basket balls. One swift blow to the legs instantly crippled my character. Another knocked him out. All I could hear was the sound of rubber hitting flesh at speeds upwards of 8 billion miles per hour, whilst my character occasionally let out screams of agony. Never again

You know you play DayZ too much...

When you run rampant murdering everyone on sight, whilst yelling about "CAREBEARS!" and "CASSSUUUUUALS!", then break your legs by falling off a curb -
36 murders....and counting....

I just wet myself in fear -
do infected automatically move towards the player? (undetected)

Well I'm hoping it's a rudimentary quick fix for their poor pathing in Alpha, rather than Rocket trying to 'lock in' zombie encounters -

Yes they do. I also believe they move towards where'd you'd be heading if you were to go in a straight line -
Do we have any advantage over the infected?
Mr. Fancypants replied to cowdung's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you can break LoS they can be quite easy to ditch. Unfortunately as the above poster pointed out the infected seem to be on par with the average Kenyan sprinter and have no problem keeping up with your character -
I still try and play as a friendly survivor. I won't deny it though, it's not particularly rewarding
