I can understand people that would want something brand new because it's supposed to be a "new game" and not a mod anymore. But to my opinion : "Don't fix it if it ain't broke". i.e I won't mind at all if we get a mashup/extended original Chernarus. Also people that don't understand video game industry, making a map that large, takes time and effort (=money). GTA-like maps take several years from the first concept untill it's fully playable, for a decent large team. Alternative, would be a new map, but using existing ArmA 2-3 models. -

The same thing just happened on Towellie's stream, same music, same player with the hatchet and red smoke. Also the hacker teleported everyone and made them dancing. I mean WTF, I didn't even know you could dance in ArmA2 ? or is there no bound to hacking in that game ? lol -

DayZ as a mod won't die for while. There's like 3000+ servers and it keeps growing. Even when the standalone is released people will still play the mod for different reasons : - They prefer the mod because the standlone doesn't have the same feel - Nostalgia. - People that hold before buying the standalone, don't want to spend anymore money until major issues are fixed. etc. -

DayZ will end having a bad reputation. I used to play Lineage 2 for 4 years when it came out, that mmo got such a bad reputation from the bots, ESP and gold farmers even when NCsoft started to purge most of them they could never get over the bad reputation on that game. It's even worse when it comes to shooter games. -
Vehicles shouldn't be rare. Let the experiment continu.

I was thinking the same. Vehicles should be more common but much harder to fix up. So people instead of killing, stealing for the vehicle, they'll fight over fuel and parts. The chopper, especially, should be much harder to fix, I managed to find and fix one, alone lol I also want deeper, more complex "repair" mechanics. Like someone could be "skilled" at fixing vehicles. I'm no way talking about mmo skill crap or so, but something like RedPower/IndustrialCraft mod from Minecraft. Instead of the dull mouse wheel/repair the vehicle, you should actually know what the fuck you're doing in some kind of complex egineering puzzle game lol Not sure people will see what I mean though. -
People just see black or white. You know there's a middle ground also ? Why not either : - Permanent spawn of zombies in big towns and hot spots like Stary/Airfields/Balota Camp. - Progressive spawn when a player is getting closer to a town : i.e a player starts spawning zombies at 1000m for example but not 100% of them)

Although, the DayZ Chernarus map was clearly edited, when I play ArmA 2, roads are clear from objects, and there's no military camps/tents in towns (ex: Stary, Cherno and Berezino). Also, if Rocket can access to the game engine, he probably can edit much further. Buildings, trees and stuff are "tiles" and can be moved, duplicated or removed in the game engine. So putting some military tents labelled as medical nearby Zeleno or on the Green Mountain should be possible. -
Standalone by September? No chance

Why do people assume that the standalone release will be a full final game ? Rocket said he wanted something similar to Minecraft, i.e it will release as standalone ALPHA. What we don't know really is "what engine ?". Most chances that he will use ArmA 2 or ArmA 3 assets, as it would take a much longer time to create new ones. -

Hm, what about some pharmacy/drugstore. Wouldn't have blood bags nor as much as medical stuff but still some better chance to get morphine, bandages, painkillers than the average house or military zombie. Edit: also I think editing the ArmA map is quite possible for DayZ since it seems it was already done. There's no military tents in Berezino when I play ArmA 2, can anyone confirm? -
People that don't see hackers are lucky or I don't know. Today I went to low populated server, the whole server died instantly. Change server and a bit later again, hacker teleport the whole server to his flying chopper, everyone fall down and die. I'm not done with DayZ (as mod) yet, however, the hacking issue is really really annoying.

I'm kinda on the edge for this one. While it's of course much more parctical having a melee slot, the hatchet is actually the most OP weapon against zombies. I mean, would anyone shoot zombies anymore with a gun (headshots needed since the nerf) if you can just one shot without aiming with the hatchet... For my part, I would probably never use a gun and only fill up secondary ammo slots with 8 bandages and possibly M203 nades.

Their Zombie mmo was indeed started before DayZ, however they did admit on the IGN interview they changed their game BECAUSE of DayZ. So yeah, it's a fucking DayZ clone build for the market. Right now, I don't understand the hype for it, it's only promises propaganda and edited screenshots lol -

I never use the infinite ammo glitch (it probably happened by accident of course, but that wasn't on purpose) and I don't have any issue with ammo. Ammo is really easy to find, especially for AKs, AKMs, Stanags, .45s, DMR etc... -
