I'm also having problems with tents. Gear that I put into my tents disappears unfailingly. If anyone has any tips for saving gear more reliably, I would greatly appreciate it.

I get 45-60 in the woods/country. I don't notice a dip of more than a few FPS when I'm in cities, but it seems to be a pretty common issue among other players.

Is anyone successfully using tents? I've been playing for about a month now, and just recently I've run into issues with tents. Any gear I put into them often disappears the next time I log in, even if there was not a server restart. Moreover, I recently put gear into a tent, did a loot run, returned to my tent and got my gear back out. I logged out, and logged back in an hour or two later and everything was OK. But I recently logged in (about three hours after the previous login) and the tent was empty, and the gear that I stashed in the tent prior to the loot run (NVG, GPS, and Rangefinders) are now gone. This is even after I removed them from the tent, and they were on my character last time I logged in. I understand the developing nature of the mod, and I'm not upset, however I would like to get some advice on what measures to take to reduce the chance of this sort of thing happening again. Thanks.

I hate to bump my own thread, but I really could use some help getting my tents to work. They seem to gobble up my gear without fail, even without a server restart. Here's my tent process: 1. Pitch tent 2. Put in gear 3. Save tent 4. Put in more gear later 5. Save tent 6. Logout Upon logging in and returning to the tent all my gear will be gone. Important note: it isn't due to people looting my tents. I tested them with empty tin cans etc., things I don't really think people would bother stealing...

Pretty weak specs. Try everything Hetstaine mentioned. I wouldn't overclock the CPU unless you know what you're doing. Being a laptop, overclocking could quickly lead you to overheating issues.

This. Pick a server with a good ping (under 100ms), 40-50 player cap, and that restarts at least once a day. This helps the server be more stable.

For clarification... So you should let the tent sit empty until it has been up through a server restart, then the gear should be (relatively) safe from being disappearing?

Just be careful of it. Lately I've been having a mess of problems with my items disappearing in my tents after I log out. Tents are pretty buggy. As a general rule, if I plan to log out, I only keep items in my tent that I won't mind losing.

Having had experience with both Intel and AMD builds, I would HIGHLY recommend spending a little extra to go with an Intel build. As mentioned earlier, the AMD bulldozer CPUs are crap. If you MUST go AMD, you'd be better off with an AMD Phenom 4-core black edition processor as it is a more reliable and proven CPU. Also, I'd shoot for a better GPU.

You're right, and I did mention that I play as a male character in this game. So you're right, that argument is certainly not valid as it pertains to this game. Other games however (particularly RPGs) you do stare at your character quite a bit.

Though I don't play as a female character in DayZ, I often do in other games. For ne it is purely an aesthetic reason; I would rather stare at a female character for hours on end than at a male character.

Good to know. I did save it, but I put things into it almost immediately after I pitched it.

Been playing on this server for the last 2-3 days. I've enjoyed my stay so far. Looking forward to the server coming back up.
