  1. I agree with balancing the challenge of infiltration with the challenge of creating the base itself. I think the creative capacity for traps could be increased with the introduction of new weapons and equipment that benefit both the group that controls the base and the group sabotaging. Things like mortars could be implemented for both defensive and offensive purposes. Maybe you could have placeable searchlights that require power from generators so that it would provide both advantages and disadvantages for both sides, it would make it harder for the saboteurs given the amount of light and it would limit the other things the defenders can power at the time. Or flashbangs, they could be used for the saboteurs to blind some of the base occupants while they attack or retreat as well as give the base occupants a way to temporarily neutralize the invaders while they dispatch them. I'm liking this discussion we're having, it's really getting my creativity going.
  2. But seriously if this is implemented I am dead set on creating an "anarchy squad". We will find clan bases, identify their main buildings (armorys, HQ's, etc.) and sneak in with satchel charges and watch from a distance as we detonate them and witness chaos ensue. After the dust settles we will sneak back in to claim the spoils of war. I especially like the thought of having our own radio station to promote violence against the clans and watch our influence create chaos, skirmishes, and possibly even all out clan wars on servers. I know, I'm a total psychopath.
  3. I have a massive raging boner for almost everything mentioned in that thread, especially the radio stations.

    US199 Hacked!!!!!!!

I was just on that server, I can vouch for this. After I saw we got teleported I aborted asap.

Being able to access only your own Tent(s)

How about no? If someone could only access their own tents then we'd see random tents all over the place in cherno, electro, stary etc. The risk of having your tent raided adds to the atmosphere of the game.

    Streaming Hacker (ONLINE NOW)

This thread deserves the dev teams immediate attention.

Well I just uninstall this POS

Dayz will be better off with you gone :D You shouldn't even complain about getting killed as a fresh spawn, you lose absolutely nothing. That's what baffles me about this game; when people complain about getting killed as fresh spawns. Who the hell cares? Just respawn and get on with your life. Oh and by the way you're a dumbass for logging out in an open area where you can be sniped. You deserved that death. QQ rage moar etc.

Packing up a tent with items inside

I believe the items will appear in a pile where the tent was.
  10. Have you thought that they may be shooting you out of panic? I usually never shoot unarmed people but I have done it a few times when I came across them and they were too close for me to fully analyze the situation. I remember one time me and a friend were in zub castle and we heard movement outside so we waited for someone to come in expecting an armed survivor. After a few minutes I decide to be brave and rush out to try and take him by surprise. I see someone crawling prone towards the tower and I immediately unload into him. Upon looting the body I found him to be unarmed. I didn't feel bad though, you're fucking stupid if you try and sneak up on an armed duo when you yourself have no weapon. Oh and why are you so upset if you got killed while unarmed? You obviously couldn't have lost that much if you had no weapon yet.

    Ural stuck?

A few reasons: 1. We were bored 2. most of the guns in there had little no to ammo, the ones that did, we took. (1 ak-74 kobra, 1 m24, loads of DMR mags) 3. We didn't want it falling into the hands of other survivors, the weapons or the ural. ( dumb reason I know.)

US 104 Chicago - Super Satchel

May I ask what weapon your friend has?

    Unconscious Player Interaction.

It's possible, I've seen the option to drag my friends body when he was unconscious before. And you are taught about it in basic training. The thing is nobody uses it because it's pretty much suicide if you're in a tense situation with either players or zombies.

    Best loot find ever?

I'm pretty sure the as50 TWS is not in the game normally, that gun was probably hacked into the game and you should probably ditch it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  15. * Server this happened on: us146 * Time that it happened including your timezone: around 6:00Pm EDT * What happened during the incident: Was running from treeline to treeline west of stary sobor all of a sudden everyone on the server dies. From what I've seen alot of hackers do this before going nuts on a server.

    Day z mysteries/storyline

So I was doing a little research into the "mysterious radio broadcast" and thought it would be a great idea if dayz had a storyline to it. I think something along the lines of finding certain items in the game (like the radio) that give certain clues as to what happened in the story. Now these items would have to be moderately rare and there would have to be alot of them so people don't find out what went on in chernaurus/the entire world, that is if the apocalypse affects the rest of the world...... (dun dun dunnn). Now some people will eventually piece it all together and just post it online but to make it a bit more interesting there should be red herring items. Items whose clues turn the story in a different direction from what is actually true. The devs should also never reveal the true story so that you have lots of different people being thrown off by the false clues so we end up with all kinds of different theories. I think implementing this would benefit the game greatly. Most people know that to make a good game you need a good balance of story and gameplay, well right now day z is all gameplay and no story, and what is the main basis of the gameplay right now? That's right, loot. So what better way to implement a story than through loot? Day z is an awesome game already but think of how awesome it would be with something like this? Lets be honest sometimes hiking from place to place in search of loot that you've probably already seen can get pretty stale and boring at times. Plus just imagine how this would affect the community, we'd have people working together to piece together clues not only on the forums but in game too. Here are some ideas on items I think would be cool to use for this: Government documents: found in barracks or on certain types of zombies and could contain info on millitary operations in the days leading up to the apocalypse. Tattered letter: Maybe written by citizens or soldiers and could have any sort of information in them. Damaged videotapes: could have anything on them really, documentation of biological experiments, eyewitness accounts of the outbreak, anything. Damaged audio tapes: pretty much the same as videotapes but with only distorted audio. Feel free to post your own ideas for items like this. I'd like to hear any thoughts you guys might have on this. :)
  17. So I had this idea earlier and I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet but I think it's a good way of keeping people from combat logging that seems pretty fair to me. I think when you log out your character should persist for around 5-10 seconds on the server you were on but you have no control over it and if your character dies in this period then you're pretty much out of luck and have to start a new character. Now I understand there are some problems with this like someone is following you and you don't know it and wen you go to log out they come up and shoot you, that's why it's important that the devs find the perfect amount of time for your character to persist so stuff like that doesn't happen.

    Idea to reduce combat/zombie logging

I would've done that but I had no idea exactly what to search for.
  19. The removal of global chat has pretty much eliminated any arrogance, racism, and bullying from being a problem. And as for hacking Rocket seems to ban people on a regular basis that are found to be hacking. Everything else is just part of the game.
