For fucks sake people, I don't know how many times I have to say this. BALANCE IS NOT A MAIN ELEMENT OF DAYZ. The reason dayz is so different from other games is because of its complete lack of balance. You can be killed at any moment and lose everything and that's what the allure of the game is. Stop bitching about the .50 cals because they are "too OP". Deal with it, play the game, and stop being such an easy target. -

First off this is a disclaimer saying I did not read the entire thread (it's 1:30Am here and I cannot be asked). But what place does removing a weapon have because it's "too OP" have in dayz? I'm sorry but I thought this game was based on being unforgiving, harsh, and damn near traumatizing at points. Why are we removing weapons of which that I'm sure would be a few lying around any military installation at any given moment zombie outbreak or not. And before some smart ass goes off and says something along the lines of "oh well then there should be tanks and battleships in the game" allow me to preemptively retort by saying those in all likelihood not be in an area where the main targets are unarmored, unarmed "civillians". Now let's be clear I don't think there shouldn't be any realistic degradation or weight of the rifle so that it would require maintenance or can be carried with as much ease as a pistol. Also one last thing: the idea of getting a .50 cal rifle acts as sort of an ultimate goal for lone survivors or small groups simply because of their rarity and usefulness. It's almost a sort of a status symbol more than just a powerful weapon. Tl;Dr: .50 cals exist in real life therefore should exist in dayz. Quit your complaining. -
Why shouldn't 4-5 shots kill someone? I doubt you get shot 5 times with an m16 and you'll be doing much good. Also spray and pray is already pretty much useless in dayz already due to the amount of recoil. Oh and the l85 doesn't do 8000 dmg, it's just a rumor.

I really like the idea of condition, although I think it should be influenced by what the can/can carrier have been through. Like if the can was in a backpack of a person who was shot and left in a swamp or something would be rusted, or a dusty can would be one that has been carried for a while or been left in a dry place for a long time. -

Look up some more in depth guides, if your computer isn't very capable you need to squeeze every bit of fps you can get. Like I said, look up some guides. -

Might also be your fps, arma has a lot of fps issues. Try optimizing your settings a bit (just look up some guides). Low fps can make aiming quite slow and unresponsive. -
The pellets were removed because the winchester actually isn't a shotgun, it only acts like one because it's was made specifically for dayz from a reskinned shotgun.

1. well derp 2. bloom is part of your vision. If you're in a dark room/building and look outside, chances are it's gonna look rather bright. 3. wut 4. again derp 5. yeah why not 6. again peripherals are part of your vision, humans don't have a rigidly defined field of view like it's portrayed in many first person shooters. the dots should stay but not be set off by something 200+ meters away behind a bush 7. ehhhhhhh no, in real life our field of view is somewhere around 180 (bear in mind peripheral vision and such). I believe in arma 2 you are given something less of that while in first person and given 180 in third. As dumb as it may sound 3rd person is more realistic. 8. no, keep getting killed by snipers? too damn bad, this is DayZ. Get used to things being unfair. 9. chances are during a zombie apocalypse there would be some perfectly working choppers left behind at airfields as well as some not working ones. 10. yes of course, like I said in rockets thread there should be a laser attachment/ PEQ box that you can find and attach to your weapon

Try closing any internet browser you may have open, I find I get kicked for high ping whenever I open the dayzdb map and it takes a while to load.

I say remove it, for the sake of realism. There should be a laser add-on that you can find for a weapon that gives you a sort of crosshair.

Alright battleye, what the Duck is this about ?

So I was getting the "battleye failed to update" bug. Nothing new to me, I verify my game cache and re-install battleye and all that but alas it didn't work. So I go to battleye.com to download the latest client and when it's finished my antivirus starts freaking out saying it has detected trdownloader.gen. I quickly unplug my ethernet cord so if this is a program to steal my CD key it won't be able to send any information back to the creator. I run avira, malwarebytes, spybot, delete the battleye.ddl that I downloaded and that seems to have rectified the situation. I know this isn't the forum to complain about battleye I just want to know if anyone has dealt with this sort of thing with battleye in the past because I'm not going to try and download a new battleye client for a while and until then, it's no arma 2 or dayz for me. -
