I finally got one set up that did not eat my items (dem tents be hungry yo!) and life was good, I was the first person to find a crash site and nabbed myself a m14 and one of those silenced smg with the 60 rnd clip. Then the server I had put my tent on went down for some reason, alright no big deal I can wait however on logging back it seems pixies have moved my tent 6 inches to the left ("dam pixies") and of course this is the point the game has been waiting for to screw me over once again I have a leaf in the way and can no longer access my tent. so while I'm rubbing my face against the fucking thing trying to find my way around the leaf I can only assume this is the time the pixies have been waiting for and I'm hit for 7k damage, break my leg, bleeding, and knocked out under this tree, wait till I come round my char starts doing that weird jerk off animation but I'm still knocked out on the floor and can access my inventory use items, used two bandages (which did nothing) but could eat food, you might say log out because the game is freaking out and I would have if not for the fact I was shocked as well so I would have bleed out for sure while I waited for that bullshit 5min cooldown. so now I'm stuck out in the woods, with no supplies, can't access my tent and with 1k blood. At this point I'm sure a lot of you are going to reply with "it's alpha dawg" which I mostly agree with apart from one thing, who the fuck cares about bear traps? fix the stuff that's already messed up before you add more. Also the post from rocket asking us how we would best like to pay for the game if it was standalone (monthly fee, one time payment etc) raised an eyebrow, again get it working right then start looking at the pot of gold in the distance. *Fully expect the first reply to be "its alpha dawg" so you may aswell do it, I'm just venting here.

Are any of these going to be legit deaths? 100% bugs and hackers so far.

Not quite, You set up a tent on the server of your choice, it's a pita to move once you have it full of stuff so find a good server. You put your stuff in the tent (they can carry a limited amount of items) 5 backpacks (may or may not save items inside, think they are lost on server restart) 10 weapons/tools (map, compass etc) 50 normal items (food, ammo etc) you save the tent (they are buggy, save them more than once to be sure) You leave the tent where it is and log off, when you log back in IF nobody had found your tent and IF the server pixies have not eaten it you items will(should) be inside. DO NOT PUT IMPORTANT STUFF IN YOUR TENT, really dem pixies be hungry yo.

Hi all, Anyone else finding that they can no longer play the arma 2 campaign after installing dayz? just gives me a message about "you cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted, dayz code" etc? I'm trying to launch the arma 2 campaign through OA:CO. anything I can do or is dayz so well made it breaks the original game (yes yes I know its alpha, I'm just being a bitch) ta.

Hi all, so in a month of playing I have found a single server that does not give me that 10sec dysync chain every 10-15mins or so. upon checking everyone for their ping it seems to be server wide so I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with my end afraid to say I killed some poor chump during it in the supermarket in polana, shot him 15 times in the head, server resynced and he fell over dead, I admit it's a bitch move but what else can you do. So is this a general problem with arma 2 servers that we just have to deal with? are the servers naff/not set up right? just what exactly is the cause of a 10sec dysync for everybody on the server every few mins? p.s sorry if that was you in the corner of the supermarket with a silenced mp5, I didn't feel good about it. p.p.s not hating on the people who run these things for us, it just blows that the game keeps freaking out.

What if anything do you guys do about this, a 10sec desync of the whole server every few mins seems a bit much. It's enough time to die about 20 times before you even know what's going on. Sure it's going to happen from time to time even on the best servers but what do you guys deem acceptable as I might be being too picky in my search for a server that keeps a connection (most of the time), every 10mins/15mins? I'd be happy with once an hour.

Yeah its very odd, last night I shot two guys off a motorbike (turn your dam lights off ffs) and made off with my haul, 2 mins later the server shut down, very odd indeed. I lost the bike in some woods anyway but that's not the point.

Suppose they have nothing better to do and nobody is stopping them. If battleye worked and every time someone used a hack BAM!! perma banned buy a new cd to try again, Until then all you can do is shrug and carry on. If it makes you feel any better ask yourself this question Has someone who has to cheat in an online game to feel validated ever seen a naked girl? got a decent job? have anything better to do? probably not, no matter how many times they "lol nuked the server" and hacked in a Apache they still lose in the end.

I agree on the starving to death in an hour on a game that has a real 24 hour day, it makes no sense. make food rarer and needed less often. Alright ideas apart from the staying on the server while asleep, death to a server killing hack while not even logged in, No thanks.

Hi, so I remember hearing that you can no longer do this and they will be wiped on a regular basis if you place tents out of bounds but my question is just what is out of bounds? http://dayzmap.info/ stops just below to dam however the ingame map will show you about 10-15km above that of empty terrain, if it's on the ingame map does it count? Just where are we safe to hide things? am I safe in that 10-15km of empty space because it's on the ingame map? Does anyone know?

Ammo is just wierd, I have a 60 round Dmr mag that keeps regrowing in my pocket, It's only getting bigger, I'm going to have a LSW pretty soon.

Only lines I see are the map markings but one does seem thicker, map seems to end just north of misty pass or pretty much at the end of the NW road in the corner of the map. is that right?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I saw a bear trap so this must be a recent build however I had heard that you could not put tents/cars etc out of bounds on the map anymore. and a camp this size would last about 20 mins before being found in the map so what is out of bounds?
