i had that issue, what i did was, verify the games with steam, then install the patch, and start the game using the Arma 2 OA Beta patch launcher inside the OA folder, because six launcher is CRAP, i dont know whats wrong with it. edit: there is also a post on the forum i made about this issue, i think i wrote exactly how i fixed it, now it works all the time.

listen, if i saw you in real life under the same conditions as in dayz, i wouldnt kill ya, in a world like that you know survival is the key, and its best to survive together, so no, i wouldnt KOS RL, but that does not mean i wont do it in a game, not at all, because there is a big difference between the interwebz and Real lifez, the way people act in a game, is NOT the way they would act in real life, and if you start to think that, then you should get checked out, im not saying you do, im saying IF you do. i KoS because if i dont, i will be, and im not taking any chances unless the opposite guy speaks out before he is dead.
