I think your map is black because you haven't found one yet. It's dark cause it's night time in most US servers, so the servers are dark too.

Hello, I just started DayZ and I'm looking for a group and a server to start on. I keep dying and I think I need a helping hand to get me going on this game.... sick of running down the road being chased by zombies, while bleeding to death praying that I run into somebody who will help me D:

Hello all, Just a few short minutes ago, I was able to snag ARMA X Anniversary Edition for $45 on the developer website :) So now I am downloading all the games like crazy and setting myself up for some zombie killing in DayZ. By the way, does anyone know why on Steam, within the pack there is a ARMA X Anniversary download when all the games in the pack are already available separated? What will downloading it do? (picture attached) But besides that do you guys have any tips or tricks that a new player should know about before he starts? Thanks!
