Looks like I am able to join other servers, but a few other players I know are receiving an error message. Looks like a possible global issue with steam/arma/battleye.

Unfortunately every time I log into the server now I get the script restriction error #55 and kicked. I guess I contain too much awesomeness for them.

Now I am unable to join the server. Looks like steam is re-downloading Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead from steam automatically. Not sure if they modified game files or what.

I have also compared this game to the book "The Road". The whole story involving a father and sons journey across a wasteland living in fear of pretty much everything, I would say, is pretty close to how reality would play out. If you have been in some catastrophic event, you can see the breakdown in humanity began immediately in some people. In some instances, the event doesn't have to really effect the majority of people. Take the genocide in Rwanda. Total breakdown in a matter of a few hours after the assassination of some president whom most people never saw. Or what happened at the Super Dome during hurricane Katrina. Or what happened in the UK after a drug dealer was shot and the riots that ensued. Even though there are not Zombies lurking about in the real world, the power struggle still exists. The thing that this game doesn't have(thank god) *SPOILER ALERT* that movies like "The Road" "The Divide" "Blindness" is cannibalism of newborns and rape.

I still refuse to shoot on sight. It has gotten me killed plenty, but not shooting first can lead to some fantastic adventures. I currently have two murders though. The last murder was a fluke accident involving lag and a partner of mine. The other was when another survivor started to fire at me and after repeated attempts to get them to stop, I had to put them down.

I am leaning towards Zombies. I also am a huge Walking Dead fan, but I have been watching zombie flicks for a long time before that. I believe Rocket calls them "Infected" so I guess that would be the correct term, but I am sure whatever term you use that people can understand will work. You can always create your own term or phrase... "Those affected by the Madness"... or "The Mad".

Thats what we need... children running around Cherno shooting with AKs. Funny thing is on US 132 there is normally a player on named Child Protective Services.

For the prices... not sure about there in Australia, the Remington 10-22 is a good bargain. However, if you want something you can mall ninja the crap out of, try a GSG 522 SD or a SiG 522. Aye, if you are just looking for "water" that could be your issue. The sodas are considered a source of water replenishment. You also have a chance to find canteens that can be refilled at ponds or water pumps.

Sounds like a great idea. Just big enough for one vehicle. Not to sure about the varying sizes... maybe make a tent that has a different cammo pattern to blend in with a different type of backdrop.

It is kinda sad that these sort of happenings change the way you play. I thought it was pretty hilarious if you ask me.

First weapon I found was a AKM with no mags. I died before I had a chance to shoot it >:( The second weapon I found was the 1911... which I never got a chance to fire since I took a bullet to the face.

Day Z reminds me alot of the book, "The Road". There is also a movie based on the book, just not as gritty. I like the lawlessness, but mostly the fear. As I posted in another forum, if you want a safe town, recruit friends and post guards.

Logging in and never feeling safe is the reason I started playing in the first place. Add in a safety zone, and I think it will attract too many carebears.

Looks good so far Rocket. I am interesting to see how the zombies will react to the noise fix. Also, collecting data in regards to the alt f4 issue is a step in the right direction. Keep up the good work!
