I don't really know how the vehicles are coded in but it seems to be that the V3 has no torque. It accelerates like crap and if you try and start on a hill or or climb a hill with little starting momentum you're in trouble. I've also never driven a real version of these trucks but for argument's sake, I believe the V3 is a little underpowered at this time. In my opinion at least, it should be able to handle hills a lot better. I think the top speed is decent where it is though. I do think the "brakes" need some further investigation too.

Since this doesn't appear to be anything official I'm not exactly going to take the time to be specific with my specs MSI GT60-ONC 3rd Gen i7 3610 2.3GHz 2x 500GB HDD in Raid 0 GTX670M Nvidia Card 12GB RAM 180W Power Brick 15.4" @1920x1080 I ballpark 30-50 FPS depending on where I am. I don't have too much trouble with DayZ. Most settings are on high. Same with other games. No issues. Newer models of this laptop probably play better. My only complaint is the fact that it's so heavy because of all the crap that's inside. Nice thing about the GTX670 is it's lower TWP compared to other top-end cards. This laptop is never hot. Newer models are probably better in many areas but I doubt any of them run as cool as the models with the GTX670. But they'll also likely get better FPS. Battery life also sucks ass, but no one plays video games on battery mode anyway. Battery life is about enough to watch a short movie, about 2 hours under load. My battery is old and only lasts like 30-40 minutes under load now :(. I typically play on my desktop now that it's running so I'm not in a rush to replace this laptop. I'm thinking of replacing it around August of 2015 when the back to school specials come out. It's how I got this one. Microsoft was doing one of their "buy a PC, get an Xbox" specials. lol

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can explain persistence a bit to me...or at least try. I've been looking on reddit, google, and on here and I've found about 5/6 different definitions. I'm not mad about persistence, but I am somewhat confused on how it works. One definition I've come across a few times is that loot spawns, decays to a certain point, then unspawns and respawns somewhere else. Though is definition seems somewhat broken. By this definition there is a set amount of loot on each server determined when it first comes online. So maybe food will be more scarce, or guns, or ammo, because of the way that severs loot table first initialized. Other definitions seem to vary and talk about dropped loot unspawning after x restarts, but when does loot respawn? Or new loot spawn? Just curious if someone can properly explain this. Thanks.

Hah! Thought this post was dead. Looks like everyone is in the same boat on this one: magic. But I want to know moar! I guess it's not a huge deal since it's always evolving but I'd really like to know how the loot system works. It was very clear-cut in the mod, here it seems there is definitely some sorcery at work.

Ignore Shister, he's correct on some level, most laptops don't like being overclocked, but we GT60 owners have TURBO MODE! Doesn't literally automatically kick the clock up there but...well, some technical garbage and basically it works faster. You should be fine though without the boost. I've had the 0NC with the GT650M for a year and half now and I've never turned on Turbo and can play BF3, DayZ, CoD, and some others without a prob. I too though have had a serious FPS drop though in stable. From what I'm hearing though it's common to some other peeps too.

I personally like the L85, still lucky enough to have one on my public hive character last I checked. Some people complain that it's OP but I disagree. It's really not the most accurate gun and it's 5.56 so its got the same power as all the other STANAG rifles. I personally don't think it's that big of a deal. If the vote fails to keep it in, I see no reason to replace it. The L85 with an ACOG isn't really that much different than the M16 ACOG. I'm not going to be upset if it stays out but I personally vote to keep it in. I do also agree though, that perhaps having a thermal scope that is unattached (perhaps to replace NVG or binocs) may be kind of fun to explore. Or perhaps consider for SA since gun modifications seem to be an topic to be toyed wtih.

^ I see what you mean. For me though, I play on a Vilayer server on the Vilayer hive, and the last two days, our server has bugged out to the point where everytime we log in, our character resets two a point from two days ago. Vehicles reset every server reset and essentially there is no point in playing on our server because nothing saves. We've been waiting all day to update to .6 but alas, it's 12:30 here and I'm tired. with work and shit in the morning. I'm sorry PersonalJ, but it seems Vilayer dropped the ball on this one. I've seen a lot of servers running .6 today, but I'm really only interested on playing on ours because my stats aren't tracked on the others.

Hey guys, I searched the forum with no real success. Sometimes, I can see smoke from crash sites, but it's only been a few times out of many. One of my friends says he sees the smoke almost every time. I have another friend who says he never sees smoke and didn't know they smoked. Is this a server error, general bug? Any ideas what to do? Not a huge deal but it makes finding crashes a bit easier. Thanks. EDIT* Typo

I play on my friend's server mostly. The other day, immediately after server restart I saw to crashes smoking so that would make sense. But there have been a few times where immediately after a restart I didn't see anything. The sound effects usually take about 60 secs from coming within 30-50m.

Hey dude. So, did you notice all the hacked in ammo crates in Electro? What a jerk...no idea if it was you. If I did, we'd of banned you but you seem to be a regular and we like that. Anyway, just before we met, a tree ate me and I lost my gear. Including an L85. So I was a little mad when we met, but at least I happened to pick up an M1014 in town for some reason. I was a little nervous when I got the fire station and noticed the doors were shut...but I thought it was a coincidence. The only person on the server that wasn't in my part couldn't have just happened to spawn in right next to me. Then I happened to open the first door to lose the zombie and you decided to FIRE A FRACKING M14 ROUND INTO MY SIDE! Then you politely asked me to come back so you could finish the job? Then you asked me to stop shooting you? Well, I felt a lot better after I killed you. I really wanted a coyote pack, and I was sad about losing my NV so thanks for those. When I saw you killing yourself over and over I knew you were coming back for your body. I felt it was polite to leave it, but I really wanted you gear, I'm sorry....I was also still kind of pissed about being eaten by a tree and being shot by an M14...so I ran in the hill and camped a tree. When I saw you climb the stairs...I did what any other bandit would have done. I killed you with your own gun. Well, shortly after I made it back to my body and my toys, so I feel a bit better now. Perhaps if we meet again you will make a favorable ally. You seem interesting enough.

R u sure it transformed? Me and some friends replaced a truck earlier with a bus. dumped the inventory from one into the other and left the bus in the exact same place. we liked the truck more and didn't care to destroy the bus. could of been something similar...

Hey guys. I got a quick question about vehicles and spawning. My friends and I found a Ural with GP-25 rounds, PKM Mags, and some other random stuff for guns that are not in the game. Do vehicles spawn with gear? I've seen plenty of vehicles at their designated spawn points with gear but usually average stuff. Is the Ural possibly spawned in? Just a bug? Thanks guys.

Well, I don't have to worry about being banned for using the equipment since my buddy is the server owner/admin. Also, the ural did last through a restart a least once. But it's all gone now anyway, a hacker found where I stashed the Ural, and blew it to shit with Satchel Charges.

I've been lucky with graphics. I played around with some settings and I see fine. As this is the bandit forum I feel safe admitting that I am one of many who camps with a sniper rifle there. My friends and I have a pretty good system in place. Sometimes, I'll camp it alone, snipe someone, and a friend will drive in real quick, loot the body, and leave. Other times, we've had about 3 people cover the field from different angles at distances far enough to avoid zombie spawning. We'll rack up a few murders, then make a quick sweep real quick before getting out. Last night we got a nice new M249. Well...new for us. :)

It happens sometimes. On next restart it should be back, or it could be some POS hacker. Besides, HFB runs like half the servers in the US...

I have found a good deal of equipment at barracks, airfields, etc. My recently found toys were from a Helo. But the best equipment I've acquired with my friends, has been off players.

I appreciate the idea, too, but I have to say it is a waste of effort. My friends just got a server that we can play on to avoid hackers and whatnot. Does it actually fix the problem? No. In fact, our first 48 hours on the server were worse than our previous two weeks combined, but it was mostly one stupid scripting POS. Luckily, when we play, my friend is logged in as an admin so when we see fishy things he kicks immediately, and later bans pending the offense.

I've seen this in Electro a few times. I spawned just west of the Electro twice in one game in the "Wilderness" and both times I spawned with Aggro...no me gusta...

I've been fine all morning, then I decide to jump on a few hours later and I'm getting kicked, disconnecting, BattleEye failures, and crashes. Taking a break from DayZ i guess and gonna hit up BF3

I just want to say I'm sorry for the things you had to endure. I was being chased by several zombies and I thought that if I could get near the tents (as one of only three people on the server) I could have a straight view of everything chasing me. Little did I know you were hiding in the first tent. I happened to notice your bag through the tent window so I freaked out and hip-fired a clip of my MP5 through the tent into you. Turns out the zombies happened to warp through the tent and find your body quite enjoyable. I'm not sure if the truck was yours...it was missing three tires....I'm also not sure if the regiments supply worth of ammo and guns were yours either but I promise to make good use of everything I took. Also, thank you for the steaks in your bag, I only had like 3000 blood....can you imagine if you managed to get a single shot off? Well...good luck on your future ventures.

I had a bit of fun last night and after reading some stories I felt I should share. I've gotten quite used to dying, things happen, bandits, murderers, zombies that run faster than Kenyans, and simpy breaking your leg on shit you didn't know was possible. But the game overall is too addicting and fun to care about these minor details. So...the night began with only 4000 blood. I had a run in with a player in Cherno when I spawned. I happened to spawn almost point blank to the store so I ran in and found an AKM, kinda cool right? Saved my life actually. It just happened that not 60 seconds later when I walked into the church, i got shot in the ass multiple times by a makarov. From behind the benches of the church i peeked out with my automatic rifle and dumped a climp into some poor almost-bandit. After I found out he was carrying about 5 clips of AKM ammo, I decided I was quite content with leaving and ran to the NW airfield to save my brother who had just broken a leg and was hiding in the barracks. He had no morphine, just used his last bandage, and was low on ammo. I had morphine in a tent that was on the way though, and he had blood, so I figured this could work if I was careful. "If" is right. I got to my tent...and found out it had been hit and was completely empty, I was quite depressed but my brother's life was on the line. I ran to the airfield in an attempt to maybe get lucky and find something...but as I got closer, my brother's desire to live faded away. He had become content with death, and a new life after death...he died there, in the barracks, all alone. And then respawned in Electro where he ran the train with an Enfield on some poor schmuck. As I turned to head back to the coast, I noticed a glimmer...it was fire...from a downed helicopter. Could it be!? Yes, the world is getting brighter. Through my black and white dying eyes, I could see hope. It turns out however, I couldn't see the zombie pilots that came out of the wood work, knocked me unconcsious and tore my body apart as I screamed in pain before I could even see if there was anything for loot. My respawn found me Cherno again. Not a bad deal...however I had just hit most everthing. It was at this time my re-incarnated brother strolls up with an extra enfield. We figure, it's "balls to the wall" time. We go for Balota. We clear most of the field. My bro goes for the deerstands down south and I hit the military hangers. While in the west hanger I hear something though. Definitely a player is nearby. I look down and see an AK-Kobra. Sweet, another Automatic Rifle. I watch the door as I hear his feet step closer and closer. I hear a zombie take off and then he starts to run. He spins the corner and then it happens...the server farts, but I didn't know. I unload a clip in him. But he keeps running. He looks at me, kind of funny, like "Did you shoot me?" I didn't even hear the gunshot, I was suddenly dead. But so is he. I guess the server didn't know what to do so it killed both of us. I watched the name Josh die across the bottom corner of my screen...I was slightly angry but it's a game afterall. It's now been two hours and 50 minutes since I logged in. I figured I'd round up and see what I could do in ten more minutes. I got a Cherno spawn, again, cool. I again figure, balls to the wall, baby. I stumble across a Makarov and see a zombie in the distance running at full speed...away from me. This can mean only one thing! Another player is nearby! I took off at full sprint. Something inside me knew it was Josh. I had to get him. I couldn't catch him but I could parallel them to keep up. Then he made a turn...towards me. My sprinting attracted mulitple zombies and so did his. Probably the whole city was on us combined. As he turned the corner I shot him twice trying to break a leg and let the zombies eat him. He kept running though. I took off behind him, any remaining zombies that could have been idle, were by no all over us. He made a bad turn at a wall and ended up nearly cornering himself. Being beaten by zombies I raised my makarov and shot him several more times to finish the job. He had been spewing blood the whole run so it took little ammo. I watched him die there in the middle of that street...then stood over his body as the whole Cherno supply of zombies surrounded me and then I gave myself over...
