  1. Hi, I'm getting a new PC. Is there any way I can deinstall Arma2+DayZ on my current computer and reinstall it using the same key without having to buy the game again? I bought it through Steam. I found this thread where they suggest to just move the Steam folder to the new computer. But, is that actually going to work? http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/12695/how-do-i-move-steam-games-to-a-new-computer-without-re-downloading-them I can remember from Norton/Adobe products that they somehow detect that you're trying to launch the already used cD key with a different pc. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  2. So I've left a truck full with cool loot just north of Elektro uphill at the power plant. It's dark and the truck has its lights on. http://postimage.org/image/tu3y7dfjb/ There is at least a FN FAL AN/PVS4. And a M26 M24 with more than enough ammo. It's on server DE 2408 http://postimage.org...1epbl/a0e84e96/ I won't be around to snipe you. I promise. Just let me know if you've found it and are happy with the guns. BTW, if you follow that road up north, near Topalko dam there is an intact helicopter for you to play with. I just passed it and there is no one around. You're welcome! Send me a message if you need some more ammo to go with that FN FAL AN/PVS4. I got some spare clips. See you tomorrow.
  3. I assume you guys are in the East Coast, US? IUn that case a European player like me would have a too high ping to join?
  4. Double tap left shift and see what magic happens. It's also in the game controls section.
  5. I can help you. We can log in together and I hold on to your sniper rifle for you.
  6. It's not hard to lose them in a chase. Turn around some corners or bushes and roll away.
  7. He's right. I just had a holiday in Scotland and couldn't understand a word they were saying. Had a great time tho.
  8. Sounds like you guys are having alot of fun. But... Forever alone level is over 9000!
  9. This mod is designed to kill you. Deal with it. They are not zombies but infected. Thus they can have super running powers. Just like your character who always has a near-brain-meltdown fever of 42 degrees. He can also run forever. Stay prone when approaching zombies, don't stand up and walk/crawl slowly. Don't go into villages as there is no good loot there. When running away from Infected (I still like to call them zombies) try to walk around a corner or bush to get out of their line of sight. Then go prone and roll the hell away.
  10. Or healing broken bones with morfine. The extent of realism can only go so far. Otherwise the game would tell you to limb around in a cast for 6 weeks after you break a leg. Even with people getting shot, I guess you can get pretty far in saving them with a blood bag, some bandages and a defibrillator. Head shot = permanently dead, otherwise can be saved with a defib. I like the idea. But in my opinion it may be just as rare as a NVG.
  11. You could also use the smell with a sort of wind-direction. They will not smell you if you crawl against the wind direction. (I'm unsure how to say this in English, but the direction of the wind is coming from them, towards me.) But if I was crawling with the wind coming from me towards them, they would smell me and aggro. Basically in the same way as game smells a hunter. It would add to realism and also to difficulty when navigating a town trying to avoid zombies.
  12. Random screams are fine, just to freak you out completely. In fact that's awesome. But that's what they do at the moment. I just like to see an addition that when they are chasing you they make some noise that they otherwise wouldn't make. Some sort of panting or anything really.
  13. I'd like to see zombies that make a distinct sound when they've spotted you or, when they're about to attack you. added to DayZ. Right now there is this sound a zombie makes that sounds to me like "Ah aha wooo hoo ahha haaaaa" and it constantly freaks me out because I think I'm detected. But it is just roaming. There is no way to hear a zombie that's charging for you. To me it would add some realism, and it would prevent me from spamming the alt button and wanking the mouse left-right all the time to spot aggroed zombies. PS I figured this would have been suggested a couple times before. But I've used the search but could not find any related posts.
  14. It's a dumb dead zombie. Outrunning it won't work, running away and trying to get out of it's line of sight does. It will lose you and check out your last position. So run behind a bush or around a corner, go prone and roll out of the way. If I ever encounter a zombie in real life (like my wife on her period) I woudn't want to punch it or attack it with a stick. Run away out of sight until they lose aggro works better.
