So my items are lost forever? tried joining other servers, and they were still missing

As it says in the title, i was playing on a server, when suddenly they owner decided to restart it. As a cause of this i lost my ALICE Backpack (full), my Winchester rifle and my pistol. I'm just wondering if this "loss" is permanent, or just temporary until the next restart. By the way, both the backpack and the pistol i had found before the play session i had today (where i lost my stuff).

Hello. I have been playing DayZ for some time now, and i feel there is something amiss. I walk alone all the time, constantly looking around myself, and quite frankly it gets a bit boring after some time. Therefor i ask if there are any Norwegian players out there who would like to team up with me. This would be a small group (max 4 players) who would try to survive as a team. I'm looking for serious players who actually try to play this game in a professional way, not 14 year old kids running around blowing up our cower and such.
