They said they haven't worked on theragdoll model for zombies. I think pathfinding was always going to be worked on. The ragdoll is just as important imo, as without it you don't see the massive fps improvements it can bring and that can then free up some room for other upgrades. Even so I think it's coming later.. -

He gave an update last week: "At my Army Discharge medical this week, they noted I now have high blood pressure. Some things in life just aren't worth worrying about. I've been getting hammered by a massive amount with requests for information about DayZ release, interviews and my reactions to this and stuff and such - but for my own sanity I retreated and have kept to myself. Right now I'm just at home doing bits and pieces on the DayZ development. The rest of the DayZ team is doing the same. I realize that I went back on my word about releasing an update, but went back into my shell for a bit last week, and I'll come out when the dust is all settled." To be honest it's understandable for peoples' demands for updates not being met when someone is thinking about their health first and others second. I'm sure most would behave in the same way and trying to appease people will only lead to more stress. -

I have it installed but playing time is limited. Tried out various private servers and never been happy with them for one reason or another. The normal hive servers are generally too populated with skriddies to bother with, even though my guy is well equipped on those. Might play it on occassion until release, but waiting for SA to really give it a good bash next time. -

I'm starting to think that maybe linking the ability to fly helis to experience/skill levels acquired in game may be a good move forward. ie you can only repair heli's if you have the books to learn how to do so, or have carried out repairs on a certain number of vehicles. Having those skills will make dying all the more painful if you're close to being able to fly a heli. -

Was in NWAF on usual server when a mate said he was joining a different server as another friend was on it and was going to pick him up from the beach. So I hopped servers and logged in right next to a dead body that had rangefinders, GPS, coyote backpack etc etc. -

It should be somewhere between TOH and Dayzmod - there should be a bit more of a complicated/slower start up, it would add to the tension of finally getting a heli and then having to go through the start sequence where at any time you could get sniped from afar. But maybe not to the degree TOH does it.. Flying should be easy enough to achieve although maybe auto hover is a bit too easy. -

If you look at response times on tickets SS were very quick when I had a server with them. Maybe there are many Bliss 3.5 issues and they were overwhelmed with tickets, or maybe their good reputation means they are now struggling to meet the same response times. But, they were always a great host for me, even setting up a new instance within around 12 hours when hackers ruined the first one. The tools that have been developed are good as well. I also forgot to cancel my recurring payment on paypal and got the amount refunded within 24 hours which was nice. At the time I read the threads for vilayer, hfb etc, and they all had complaints about ticket response times. I don't know how dayz.st will do but will be interesting to see feedback on them in a few months once they have a lot more servers on their hands to look after. With regards performance, SS were always much better than whenever I connected to a vilayer host, and for the money were great value. I think the OP was right in that generally you get what you pay for, but rather than looking at one person's perspective you should read through the server threads and see if you feel the overall impression is positive or not, and then go with the one that gives you the most confidence. -

Really well administered server, thanks to the admins, been on most of today and not seen any hacking really (one event, insta-banned), has given me back love for dayz :) -
So, I was running through Elektro with Czech backpack, AKM, etc, half kitted up. See another survivor, shout friendly etc. Obviously, I then get shot and murdered. Close the game, go back an hour later, log in and my guy is bleeding out in Krutoy Cap and I get the egg timer. I was expecting it to be the 5 minute shock timer but this was 30 minutes ago and it's only halfway down. Anyone know why this happened? It must have registered the death or I'd still be in Elektro, and I should have a fresh new spawn rather than this malarky.

Is there anyway to figure out WHERE on the map this is happening so we can try and fix the spawn please? -

Well I eventually regained consciousness. Checked my gear to see what I had. Inventory was totally empty. No painkillers. No bandages. nada. So obviously, after waiting an hour, my guy died a few minutes later. -

Had server for a couple of days - top notch so far. We had 25 players on last night and performance was still fine. (50+ fps for those with good enough PCs to be able to experience it. Not me though! :(), no desyncs, very good (this is a DE server for those looking for a european based server). Support is very quick to respond, 1.7.2.6 on there already, rolled back beta patch where issues experienced. Recommended so far. -

weren't minecraft type 'seeds' to create maps mentioned before by rocket? I'd like to see some system where maps are unique and you can't just refer to an internet map for where stuff is. Also some kind of stronghold but one where you can't dupe items would make things more interesting :P
