    Play what you paid for

Well it seems that would make you go around in this continuous pvp loop which is why i see some players getting frustrated with the game. Most pvpers say they camp cherno/elektro cos they got all the high end gear and get bored and then some will say they do it to get high end gear which then leads back to boredom. I never stick to one play style, sometimes i pvp sometimes i run around with my crew and pve, depends on my mood. And what i mean by PVP is that i actually go into towns and NWAF with an assault rifle or whatever and hunt people down the good ol fashioned way. Most of you pvpers out there should try it instead of just camping on hills and buildings sniping people who dont stand a chance, and for the record i been playing for a month now and am yet to meet ONE pvper that does it like i do, instead its just BOOM! headshot etc. And furthermore other people running around noob spawns and griefing them DOES dictate how the game is played as 50% will probably leave and the other 50% will just become like them sooner or later leaving just one pure deathmatch, distant sniping bloodfest. please try and tell me i'm wrong.
  2. So I've been browsing the forums as of late and noticed all the QQ threads, anti QQ threads, pro bandit, anti bandit etc etc. and it's got me thinking.... Why not take some time (thinking once a week) were all pro's, pretend pro's, n00bs, amateurs and just basically whoever is up for it to meet in (insert random town here) and actually have ourselves a good ol' fashion, last man standing battle royale type dealio. Now i'm still deciding between FFA or squad based combat (Deathmatch, Gather The Beans, KIng of the Hill etc.) but the idea is that each team or individual show up in a random town on a random server with whatever gear they please (except no snipers of course) and keep gunning at one another for a time limit of about 30 mins (in order to reduce chances of hacking) and see who comes out on top. I would initially do a few fun runs to test how well it goes without hopefully being grieved and if successful i will host tournaments with goodies up for grabs for the winning individual/team. But first i honestly would like to find out who would be up for this type of event. Just a simple yes would suffice but am also up for any ideas, hints and/or tips you feel might benefit the plan, or whether you think i'm wasting my time feel free to say that too, as i am only a month or so into the community so not sure if anyone has proposed this sort of idea in the past and whether or not succedeed. Thanks for your time.
  3. Will keep it brief, had been looking for the Ghillie Suit for over 3 days now, without my character dying. After many hours of crashed heli searching i got frustrated and decided to kill an hour sniping in and around Cherno. An hour in, instead of immediately retreating i decide to climb the big ol industrial in the midst of Cherno to have a look around. 3 minutes whilst up there all of a sudden i began to get shot from the sneaky room on the 2nd floor. I turn round and see some wookie with a silenced mp5 firing at me so i hide round the corner. I run behind him taking some meaty damage but manage to no scope him with the AS50 killing him instantly. He not only has a ghillie but also a DMR for my friend along with NVG's but sadly no rangefinder, but who's complaining. So this is just a quick thread to say thank you Mr Whoever as your server hopping ways had finally got me the one item i'm yet to get in this game.

    Thanks For The Silver Platter...

Whilst this is also a possibility, i must re-assure you the amount of time spent on that roof (3 mins) doubled with the fact that i wasn't exactly being sneaky on that roof when he could've supposedly climbed up the ladder makes me think that I was just lucky enough to catch him as he hopped on.
  5. Devmagic

    Thanks For The Silver Platter...

He had a spare in his backpack. And guys if you didn't quite catch it, this thread was more about the server hopper getting his just desserts. Also if you notice i did mention that the ghillie suit is the only item i havent got thus far. These 2 points alone should outline that this had very little to do concerning gear found and more with how i got it after searching for so long.

    Thanks For The Silver Platter...

It was actually more of a positive side story to a negative game flaw kinda dealio. But you know. Also if you think 8 sentences isn't brief then you should read more bro.

    Base Wiping

So does anyone have any stories of a time where you thought your base was safe and then the server restarts and then BAM! it's all gone now. This time we were hidden just north of the PBX spawn, totally on the in game map on an undisclosed server with about 8 vehicles and 4 tents, the server restarted about 20 mins ago, log back on and shit just got wiped, all that hard work for nothing. Anyone else have any feelings of injustice when it comes to matters like this? This isn't the first time this has happened and really ticks me off that not only bandits and the likes can create a threat, but so can the game itself, completely negating my survival style of play making me think that maybe i should just grab my sniper rifle and join all the noob killers in cherno till they sort it out. This isn't a bitchy thread in the least just seeing if anyone else had had this issue.

    Base Wiping

Oh no they were spread out but we checked all the of them but to no avail, we checked other camps as well and there is no tents anywhere. i think it might be complete wipe or poor restart. The admin and his group did lose their heli last night, you think it might be a bit of foul play for fresh heli spawn?
  10. To any experienced UK/European players who are looking to team, i got a group of looking to add a few more friendly faces. Mostly US players so looking for some UK or european players to help spice it up and have a bigger range on group play due to different time zones. Requirements are: 1) Must speak english (doesn't have to be fluent as long as you believe i will be able to understand you) 2) Must own headset (textchat = pwned =-( ) 3) Must be 16+ (exceptions could be made provided you have the right mentality) PM me or post on this thread, which ill check back regularly, letting me know a bit about yourself and what time zone you are. Happy Hunting!
  11. Whats your skype or steam?

  14. Don't know if this has happened to any of you guys out there but i just got teleported to a magical place called Skalisty Island whilst roaming around cherna, managed to d/c before seeing that 15-20 other people on the server died within a second so lucky me as i got some decent loot to try and keep hold of. So any suggestions on how to get back inland without losing my stuff as i hear that is a penalty of swimming?
  15. I got hacked over to some random island and just need a server that doesn't make me drop all my loot in the water. anyone know of one or own one that has this feature?
  16. Thanks for the input. I'm not sure what's funny about hacking but i'm sure karma might let you know someday soon =) No actually you can just got back now with gear still intact.
  17. Good idea. So to any admin reading this, let me know =)
  18. I'll make this brief, i got hacked and teleported onto a random island and need to get back to shore. i had some good loot on me that id rather not lose to this inconvenience so need the assistance of any server admin who has the swim inventory loss thing switched off so that i may swim over with no problems. I'd very much appreciate the help.
  19. but again how would i know this prior to testing?
  20. And how would i find that out before getting in the water?
  21. Only a few days in but is it me or does it seem that those who play the game as its genre depicted seem to be the only ones who cant get anywhere (unless you have a team of 10 or so). Been trying to enjoy the game via patching vehicles, building bases, teamwork etc. and just when it seems everything is going well, BAM! a sniper shot from your routine supermarket sweep ends your life and makes it almost impossible to get back to where you were. I just feel that the game has been taken over by those who have no interest in zombies or even survivng but getting whatever amazing sniper rifle they can get (sometimes even in teams) and just ruining everyone else good time. I understand that bandits make the experience more challenging, but for a game with no real end goal i feel i am just wasting my time and wits playing this with no reward....at all. Anyone feel the same way, or have i just missed the point of this game altogether?

    Zombie Survival My A***

ok taking all serious responses on board and ignoring the pathetic ones e.g. first i would like to make note that perhaps you should read an entire thread before flaming the poster with "stop complaining" or "don't be a sore loser bro" cos if you did then you will see that i clearly state that i still am enjoying the hell out of this game. This has taught me a lot about the intellect and humanity of a lot of people in the DayZ world and has truly opened my eyes to the sort of attitude and behavior of my fellow humans from around the globe, it frightens me slightly that everyone is quick to adopt the attitude to say that we would just all sell each other out or stab each other in the backs means that you either are or hang out with assholes and should perhaps seek new friends (if you actually have any beyond the internet). second, next time you pass a dictionary open it up and read the definition of constructive criticism, you will see that just because someone has something negative to say about something doesn't mean that they hate it or are complaining about it it just means that they are opinionated enough to speak out about something they believe is wrong or right even if it means upsetting a few die hard fans. as i've stated i study games for a living and my point is based on first and third party research, something i believe needs to be addressed regardless of anyone else's thoughts. if i'm correct i believe there was a stage in development when all pvp peeps were complaining that the game didn't cater to them enough and this is me merely saying that now i believe the balance has shifted too heavily. what reward is there for someone who tries a different approach, my view is that there is none. i believe this game has just turned into a free roam resident evil: operation apocalypse, kill each other with the odd zombie annoying you from time to time. if you don't like what i say then that's fine, everyone has a right to an opinion but perhaps next time you should construct your view a little more intellectually rather than take the Christianity approach and just try and convince everyone else that they are wrong for not believing what you believe with insults and off-the-point fact blurting.

    Zombie Survival My A***

See now half these responses bring up decent points, the other half just seem to jump on the insult train without reading into what im saying. See now i am currently studying games design and so understand the core dynamics and elements that are installed into each title released in order to make it worthwhile, now all im saying is that this game isn't what it says on the tin. I see and read and hear zombie survival, yet it has very little to do with surviving from the zombies themselves. I don't recall whining about being killed, just for once id like it to involve an actual gunfight or something rather than a loud bang and a character reset, and this can happen at anytime regardless of location. The sniper rifles (and yes i have also used them) i find are making the game quite unbalanced especially (and i have read this) when there are players out there who are happy to lie down in a bush or on a rooftop for hours on end killing every noob or whatever that comes their way,, and they don't do it for loot or even to survive but just the tingly sensation they get to feel whilst they fap over their latest kill. Im not saying that this is a bad game, hell i still enjoy it, all im saying is that they got the advertisement wrong. Next time you respond to a a negative view try analyzing and responding accordingly rather than call people names like schoolkids.
  24. Ok im gonna sum this thread up as fluently as possible, I was a m107 wielding warrior who logged on to now be in a location ive never been with a lee enfield an alice pack full of random goods including a tent (which i have never once found) with murders to my name. Colour me very confused.... anyone know how this can happen?
