I've read that you just log out in those cases (don't do anything as well) and then just try another server. Its happened to me and a few buddies. But I tried the solution mentioned and it worked for me.

Thanks for that Advent1 as I don't tweet I would never have seen that. I haven't tried to log back in but my friend lost his character earlier and we figured we'd stay off until the dust settles.

Advent1 - how do we know the servers are being DDos'd? My buddy said he heard the same thing a little while ago but I can't find any info on it here (yet that is).

Edited for double post. But to add on rubberbanding, it seems to happen the most while turbo running with your fists up. At least thats when it happens to me the most.

Thanks for the rubberbanding fix, thats been a big recurring issue with me last few days. I usually end up warping back several KMs too and the game freezes with no option but an alt-F4 exit of the game. Keep up the good work devs!

Its an alpha dude don't get attached to your character or gear. There will be bugs and weird stuff happening all the time. Just hit Escape and respawn. You paid $30 dollars to play an early access alpha version of the game and were warned that it has issues so don't get all "I just wasted my money" on us.........

Reporting issues isn't complaining, its a service to the community on the server and the admin. To be honest I've only suffered one issue with hacking, the guys I play with have had a few more encounters. These aren't the type of guys that bitch, piss and moan because they got killed. We've all been killed either by zeds or players and we just pick up and start over. Drunk has stated that there are a variety of ways in which people can hack that's undetected and unfortunately nothing can be done. Despite the issues my group has suffered I still think 420 is a good server and my experience has overall been good. But a couple of our guys have repeatedly been targeted by the same couple of players and some of these attacks are just too random to be coincidence.

Well we've just decided to play somewhere else for now, on a whitelisted server. Its still vunerable to hacking but once you're banned its a bit harder to come back. If Drunk gets the issues sorted out we'll check it out again but its hard to get SSs or video of people killing you when their invisible or teleport behind you and shoot you in the back. In the end all we can really hope for is that the standalone gets the hacking issues sorted out, so if it does happen its few, far and in between.

We'll try out the server and see how it goes. When do the new measures go into effect?

Well that sucks Tow, but I have to say we won't be safe on any server out there, ArmaII is just too easy a game to hack and the protection in place isn't up to the task of dealing with the issues. For what its worth 420 Dallas has overall been a good server. But I can't really tell you of one server I haven't suffered from hacking whether it was direct (someone killing me and my buddies) or indirect (the whole server being killed off). As I've mentioned in our chats the SimHQ guys I used to run with were about 25 members strong at one point, once the rampant hacking set in the numbers started going down to where now we have only a few that play anymore. These issues won't go away until we get the standalone version so for now we just have to deal with it as best we can. I like the fact that Drunk does what he can to keep a clean server running and is a fair admin. I've played on servers where the admins abused the powers they had just to have a leg up on the players, that said we could do worse.

We just saw the A10 wreck and weren't sure if it was in game. None of us were wise enough to get a screenshot at the time (bangs head against wall). The good news is we didn't see an A10 flying around strafing with the GAU! That would ruin anyones day including all the buildings on the server lol! Were most concerned with the tents and disappearing vehicles though. We had a pick-up truck, sedan, three UAZs and they were all gone after a server restart yesterday afternoon. Its worth pointing out that the UAZs were still there from the previous night when we saved them so they survived a couple restarts before they vanished. The tents were there before the hacking incident over the weekend and never came back after the rollback, but the guys had placed new tents in the same area yesterday afternoon and those tents also vanished with the server restart along with the aforementioned vehicles. Yeah I can confirm Drunk looks like vehicles and tents aren't always saving correctly. The crashed jet was an A10 (I know my hogs).....

As it turns out I wasnt affected by the rollback. Now since I wasn't actually on the server when the attack occured this may have something to do with it. Hoping Zombie and LordShelby were unnaffected as well. The bad news is though that the new tents my buddies had set up haven't come back so I'm guessing the attack on the server ate those tents. Thats unfortunate because I know they were moving stuff from tent to tent and probably lost a ton of stuff. Glad to know my work last night wasn't wasted though. Can you confirm the server rolls back to a certain point when an attack happens or just the players affected? Would be good to know for future reference. And finally, when are we going to see you on the server Drunkpunk? Maybe I just miss you due to being in a different time zone but would like to say hello on the server if we're ever on at the same time.

I know where you're coming from Drunk no worries. In the future I think we'll just choose a different plan for playing until the server rolls back in these situations. I mean I figured that would have been the outcome last night given how the whole server was killed off. We'll just go bandit mode next time and have some fun until things are back to normal...... :D

Ouch the rollback is gonna lose us two UAZs and some fly items we gathered last night after the server population died down. I guess that means 3-4 hours of work are gone. I recommend in the future that unless the rollback happens within the hour of an incident just forget it. I know you can't be around to fix things 24/7 but a couple hours after the attack most of us had already fixed the damage done to our characters and scored some really nice stuff. EDIT: BTW I know your doing the best with keeping the server in line, and you're damned if you do, damned if you don't as well!

Wells hes not saying he doesn't believe it just that he cant find anything in the logs to support it. If he can't back it up then he can't do anything. If he did the we could all go I got hacked and my M107, NVGs , GPS are now missing.........

Any answer is bette than no answer Drunk we'll keep vigilant on getting screenshots (dont have fraps). In Zombie and my case I never saw anything so nothing to frap or SS but its highly suspicious when he got killed a minute later while running the opposite direction of whoever killed me given the distance involved. You just cant close a gap that fast. But I understand where you're coming from on evidence. EDIT: We completely understand that real life takes priority over a game no worries and thx for looking into the issues.

And to add to the discussion who are the other admins you mention in the first post of this thread? Can we have some in game names so we know who to talk to? Maybe some contact info. Apologies if this is in the server message in game. I just want your server to stay fresh and fun as its been the last couple weeks. Its great fun and I'm setting up camp.

Well I'm sure Drunk will get it sorted when he sees this. Have you tried sending an email? I haven't but I thought Zombie said he was going to last night. Believe me I know how frustrating this stuff can be. Its one thing to be picked off fair and square but when you're hacked it really gets the blood boiling.......

Wow Towhook thats some serious stuff. Were still about 99.9% certain that we were hacked last night (see my earlier post). I'm not too worried about the gear but hopefully you can look into this ASAP.

May have had a hacker on this morning. Got killed in the field SE of Stary barracks by a player we believe to be Mat. Never saw anyone and with no trees or bushes around suddenly got shot by a silenced weapon (wasnt an M4 SD or BIZON). About a minute later Zombiebait was killed almost 1.5km away under similar circumstances. There were only 6-7 of us on server and all but one guy could have been the culprit by process of elimination. Its not the end of the world all I had was an Alice pack, M14, 1911 and all the basic gear minus compass and entrenching tool (had map, hatchet, watch, matches). Can you take a look at the logs and see if anything was up. Happened about 125am pac US time. I think my coordinates were roughly 064 077 if that helps.

Thanks for looking into it drunk. While I'm disappointed with the loss of uaz and gear inside it that's just part of dayz. In the end I just want to get back to work picking up the pieces.
