@tweakie, its not stupid... just not utilized to its potential since most games dont use hyper threading... a few still do thoe... most EA, SEGA and Ubisoft use hyperthreading for there games... if your building a strictly gaming rig i5 is more than sufficient... if you play on streaming, rendering, serious editing, hyper threading is great. For me personally, i put the i7 3930k in mine... way over kill for gaming, 6 core - 12 thread... but i work alot with sony vegas, photoshop, after effects.. which utilize hyperthreading.

You have a power source issue my friend... your CPU/GPU is drawing too much power that when your fans kick in... it draws some of that much needed power away... if you are on a laptop... id suggest playing plugged in... which im sure you already do... or upgrading to a new high performance lithium battery that will give you more total draw.. -

For me personally, i think the dogs are better suited to be companions rather than wild animals... sure at first you might have to train them... but think about it... a dog could be very useful, he could distract infected to give you a chance to run away.. could sniff out high value items from certian buildings... indicating there something inside by mabye sitting by the door... could protect you from other animals eventually going to be in the game ( bears )... if he does make it where the dogs are ferrel and wild... shits gonna get interesting lol -

Iv got a corsair 240gb force 3 gs and the thing is amazing... got it on sale at my local shop for $189 one weekend, was such a steal i picked up 3 ;) -
wow them temps are hott bro... im surprised you havent burnt out your GPU yet... i run on full 1080p with 100-120fps and my gpu never goes above 42 Celsius... id reccomend at the very least a separate fan to cool your SLI setup as the cards being close together is going to limit air circulation to begin with... another very effective but costly setup is getting a corsair h80 hydro cooling and mounting it to the GPU chipset (unit is built as a CPU cooler but will work with a few mods to the GPU shroud )

video memory should be set to default... this will give you the biggest boost since you are running 2gb cashe on your GPU...

First off i know this is NVIDIA, but i have a ATI Radeaon and i get the same issue... but only when i try to run Arma 2, skype, xsplit and dxtory do i get this sudden screen freeze and driver error prompt... my GPU runs at 42 celcius MAX on load... so i doubt its a heat issue... mabye something to do with windows power management? -

@LYE thx bro, built it with the Corsair 800D case.. thing is a monster to say the least.. its got about 2 inches of back room for wires ect. Summer is great for bikini's n beers... but turns your PC room into semi sauna room lol.. im fortunate enough were im from it gets quite cool at night which helps since my unit is on a desk near the window. -

did you have to buy a undermount bracket and spacer bolts? really cleaver idea thoe... do you have the radiator of the h100 setup for push/pull or just stock push? -

lol is that n h80/100 jimmy rigged to the GPU... thats pimp brah ahaha, i got a h100 on the cpu, running a i7 3930k and i keep er around 28 celcius on load ;) -

plastic eh... i took my HD 7970 (asus directcuII ) apart when i bought it and removed the stock thermal paste and replaced with MX-4... i run my game on ultra high... the max temp i reach on GPU 42 Celsius... -
