    Sniper problem solved!! I think?

I rather enjoy gathering a horde and running in his general direction.

    This is getting old...

That song has become synonymous with hilarity ever since I saw pwned.nl back in the day. Beautiful.
  3. I've encountered it once and I must admit I would have done the same. I was driving a bus around NW Airfield spawning infected then circling around to loot the barracks, and as I entered the southern barracks someone was crouched in the showers. He started blasting away with an automatic, missed every shot, and I managed to get 2-3 rounds into him with the glock. He fell unconscious and Alt+F4'd before I could finish the job and loot him. This was on US 783 a few days ago, and if anyone could tell me what happened with that bus I'd appreciate it. I managed to get it parked in the middle of the runway before I lost connection.

Do you play with a loot map?

Sometimes. If I'm stupidly low on food/water and I don't have an ingame map I'll open up the steam overlay and map out a quick route to a town via DayZDB.

    Is losing everything... Enough?

I'm all for dramatically increasing the rarity of firearms and their accompanying ammunition, especially military grade weapons. The OP touched upon something which I feel has gone overlooked in this thread, and that is weapon reliability. Civilian owned weapons can often be ill-treated and therefore prone to failure, while the opposite is true for military weapons found in bases and/or encampments, and I feel the game should reflect this. A weapon degredation and accompanying repair system tied to weapon maintenance would fit this game quite well. Add weapon cleaning kits with limited uses to the loot, and enforce their use to ensure sustained performance from your firearm. Add in weapon repair parts (or kits, for simplicity) for each firearm as they will degrade until unsuable but regular maintenance prolongs this. Also, the Balota airfield should be made entirely civilian.
