These are some tips ive learned over the past couple of days. 1. First priority should be an axe, it has 9999uses in melee, and one hit kills a zed - if you get good you can kill a group of 6+ without taking any damage. 2. Use the website map to find your bearings, another player kindly mentioned that when you spawn text appears telling you your general location, use it! 3. Raid a military medical center if you can find one, loads of bandages, morphene (trust me, its not worth gathering every survival tool in the game only to have to end up crawling 10kilometers just to find some morphine.... 4. If another player does not have a weapon in their hands, then they probably dont have one! its safe to chat to them, on the other hand if someone has a weapon then be cautios, theres no way to tell a bandit from a friendly yet other then if bullets start flying. 5. An enfield is god gift to a zombie slayer. 10rounds per magazine, average fire speed - just dont go firing it whilst surrounded.

I have had similar problems, every game i join its like ive never played before, im offered the choice of a Male or Female char each and everytime and even if i log off for a minute etc i lose all my gear and am a fresh spawn. I seem to have no persistant characters even when i never actually die :P

I was running around Chernogorsk during the night, i was lucky enough to stumble across an AK and three mags as well as many other useful supplies. After this breakthrough i ended up in a hotel-lobby type building in the town center (i ran in because i had a hoard after me). There i heard whimpering coming through the speakers, and discovered a survivor aiming his flash light at me in self defence, they relaxed when i told them i was friendly. For the next couple of hours me and this guy trapsed around the city looking for supplies, and i eventually took him back to the military tents i descovered so he could find a gun (alas he found an ak but no mags). Shortly after this his mates joined us (three of them and me) and we decided to leave the city via the north to raid a farm. However near the target we were engaged by a large hoard of zombies and had to dispatch them with Hatchets (By this time my 3x mags were long gone). One of our party was seriously injured and after talking it out in a nearby barn (where i found an epic enfield!) we decided to escourt the injured man - he kept falling unconsious - back to the military tents for a blood pack. On the last part of this journey we were ambushed by walkers, and in the end ran for the tents. However i was the only one of the group to make it. I decided to throw every red flare i had around the tents lighting it up like a night-bonfire and waited for my allies to find me, i ended up shooting atleast 15 walkers before i finally heard my mate on the coms saying 'Erik, is that you?', i instantly replied 'Y' but didnt have time to write anything else, as a split second later, i had been shot. I only hope my comrades found my corpse, rifle and know i died defending the Military Camps - medical center, waiting for them to come and save their wounded friend.
