im french and ive done some translating work before. But I require payment MWAHAHA

I want self-administered blood packs. I play alone. I care not for others. Eating 2 whole cows is not realistic. You can't just "make friends" when you dont have a mic. People who have teams already have a VERY large advantage.

this isnt the diablo 3 forum... geez

im at that stage where I have everything too, and its true there is no "endgame" per say, but its what you decide it will be. Its your story. Personally, I decided to become a vigilante for the noobs and kill the snipers/campers. At the same time, I collect mountain dew cans. Its still fun.

Ok so i've logged in about 200+ hours of dayz now, and I finally have a story. It's about how I became a superhero vigilante. I'll start by saying i'm a lone wolf. I haven't ever had any other player or clan help me in any way, and i didn't use online help either (maps, wikis, loot spawn points, etc) so I learned everything from hardcore trial and error. I know the feeling of getting your first gun, hell even your first hatchet. I have also raged many times when after finally getting everything I need, and i'm about to skip town to go north, I get sniped and die just like that. This is precisely the reason I vowed to become a hero of the noobs, savior of the meek. I've never been a PKer, not even an avid PvPer. I longed to protect the unarmed. So to make Chernarus a better place, I decided to exact revenge on snipers, more precisely Krasnostav airstrip snipers, because my second-longest survivor died there after being sniped while gathering phat loot. So I prepped a survivor to the extreme, being overly cautious, and I ended up basically having everything, from NV goggles to mountain dew, even antibiotics. I set up camp at Black Lake, where I stored dozens of steaks and water bottles, to survive for years. Every two hours or so, I sneak up Olsha hill from the back, and carefully look for my mortal ennemies: snipers. One or two never fail to appear, most times they connect and spawn directly at the sweet spot for sniping. But i'm there. And i'm watching. And as they prepare to snipe poor souls raiding the airstrips, I creep up behind them and whisper: "I'm Batmaaan..." then I shoot them in the head. I leave the sniper rifles on the dead bodies, as I will never become one of them. My trusty AKM is all I need.

They should re-animate into zombies, about 5 minutes after death. So get that loot quick!

U mad bro?

Being a lone wolf, my life got a hell of a lot easier once I got to cooking meat. My alice pack is full of steaks, which for some reason have stayed juicy and fresh for 3 days now. Spamming food can get you all your blood back, which I think is unrealistic. Maybe players who eat too much could get morbidly obese and slow? On the other hand, I think self-administered blood packs could fill the void of nerfing cooked meat. There should be some penalty to self-administering, and there should also be VERY SLOW health regen (for example, 2 blood per 10 seconds). I was kind of half-joking with the obesity thing, but what do you think?

Amiright? I mean its only there so people can barbwire churches then go "lulz n00bz got no lootz"

Battleye initialization failed
MikeTupper replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
same thing. it seems global. let's wait for a fix. -
what if spawning was totally random, anywhere on the map? Some might say it gives an unfair advantage to someone who spawns at NW airfield, however its the best place to be picked off, especially if you go there unarmed. And people who'd spawn at places of interest would be more careful, because since you can spawn anywhere the chance of spawning at a hot spot is pretty low. Also, it would alleviate the traffic in cherno and elektro

What does everyone do in DayZ's "end game"?

Reduced AKM/AK74 spawn, replace with SKS
MikeTupper replied to Bukethead's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
well, the lee enfield I think is ok to spawn at a good rate, because its not that great a gun. Granted, it can kill anyone in one shot, even in the leg, but the fire rate is slow and it is SOOOOO noisy you cant fire it without 50 zombies and 10 players flocking to you -
Reduced AKM/AK74 spawn, replace with SKS
MikeTupper replied to Bukethead's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
its true that the AKM is pretty over-powered for how common it is (its one of the best assault rifles IMO). It seems to always spawn in the fire station -
they're useless. I've litterally never used one. I don't bother carrying those anymore. Do you?

I've played a lot of dayz, always alone, about 200 hours, without the help of the wikis or clans or whatnot, i did it hardcore trial and error, and now i'm on my longest survivor, he has everything and he's up north. Here's my tips for you: First, when you spawn and have nothing to lose, its a good idea to RUN through cherno and elektro, stop at churches, supermarkets, office buildings and hospitals. Do it quick, don't worry about zeds, you'll lose them in buildings. Running through town makes it hard for snipers to shoot you. It's also a good idea to do it on low pop servers, but it's manageable otherwise. In an ideal run, you'll skip town with a map, matches, knife, hatchet (everything to cook meat), a water bottle, a gun (or two), a morphine injector and the rest is gravy. After that, you want to leave town, maybe go get yourself some cooked meat. You can find a bigger backpack in many places, it'll come along. After that, just head north, with a water bottle and an animal's worth of meat, explore the wilderness, you'll have all your time. There are plenty of unmarked treasure troves on the map, like castles and deer stands. From there, your ultimate destination is the north, where there are airfields and probably an untimely death, but at least you'll have made it to where the big boys are. Hope this helps!

So I'm not really complaining about it, I can usually get around the wire fine or just remove it, but I just dont understand the reason put barbed wire EVERYWHERE. They barb wire churches (sometimes just one side along the benches) they barb wire castles, they barb wire stupid sheds with nothing but a hatchet inside. I mean, i'm not a rookie anymore, i'm up north with nv goggles and mountain dew, and I NEVER bother picking up any barb wire, it's just a waste of space. Who does that? Who barb wires nondescript random buildings then leave for another part of the map? I just... I just dont get it...

this is getting out of hand..........................see what I did there?

the obese could get the "american" skin. ooouuh snap

Snipers ........its kinda like this.
MikeTupper replied to puppetmaster11's topic in New Player Discussion
picking the right server is half the job done. servers with 50 players are far more likely to have snipers than servers with 15 players -
i get a variety of different errors everytime I try to log into a server since this morning. Either i'm stuck on wait for host screen or i get battleye:bad player name error. Is this something thats happening to everybody and will be fixed, or is this something I will need to correct myself, which I suck at because I don't know shit about computers?
-
I used to think guns were rare. Then I caught on how to play and if you know where to look, you can usually find a gun within 5 minutes of spawn. Finding your first food I think personnally is the real challenge. You're only really certain to find that in supermarkets. Elsewhere, you'll be lucky to find ONE can in ONE house somewhere.

how long before the trend sets in to piss on the bodies of players you murdererd
-
there should be an island off shore that spawns like 1000 zombies. You can go there to die once you've collected everything and the game gets old
