So, yeah, i've been off DayZ and its forums for about three months, but I decided to dive back in. Last time I played, hackers were everywhere and I kept being insta-killed by various paranormal phenomenon. I just wanted to know if it's still as bad. Have the hackers finally gotten bored? Has security been increased? Or has the wonderful DayZ community self-regulated itself and all hackers have now joined hands with the other players in kumbayah around a bonfire of WarZ copies?

Just thought id make a thread where people can share what items they like to carry around and why (not counting tool slots because everybody wants to have all of them). Here are mine: 1 bear trap (i like to place it at the top of ladders) 1 Mountain Dew (for good/bad luck) 2 painkillers, 2 morphines, 1 antibiotic (for personal use) no blood packs or epi-pen (i travel alone), instead i have 11 cooked meat at the ready, more than enough to refill my blood should i catch a bullet or two. 3 water bottles, because they're refill-able 1 wood pile, saves me the trouble of finding a forest 1 Grenade, i've never used it but i like knowing that i can blow up a squad of people. 3 canned foods, for the hunger meter, so that i dont waste cooked meat. Of course, to carry all that I have the magnificent Coyote Backpack. What about you?

i logged off yesterday with a fully healthy character. This morning the game insists on loading a fresh survivor, no matter how many times i reload or switch servers. What's happening? I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I logged off while sitting inside a vehicle and changed servers

hmm well it seems to have corrected itself, but now I have a new problem... I logged off while in a vehicle, now my guy is sitting in an invisible car and cant move lol... any advice?

i havent really played since humanity has been restored, but i played a little yesterday, and i ended up killing a towelhead in berezino. It was the first time id managed to do that, however my humanity didnt go up. It's still at 2650, same as before. Aren't you supposed to get humanity for killing bandits? i go out of my way not to hurt other survivors, so thats problematic

When people started complaining about hacking a while back, i myself had only encountered a hacker once, so i said "they're just isolated incidents, its not that bad". My longest survivor died after 26 days, and after that, i started seeing the problem. I never had a survivor stand beyond one day after that. TPed in the air, killed by invisible people, thunderdomed, ive seen it all. I encountered a hacker next to crates of items. It got REAL bad. I cant ignore it anymore. Something needs to be done. I'm pretty sure a lot of people around this forum are secret hackers, too. Its that rampant.

So, ive recently figured out something pretty neat... I play on random different servers every day. When I spawn near cherno-elektro, instead of going to town, i hike up that huge mountain in front of golova cap. There is ALWAYS a camp there. Sometimes only one tent, sometimes, seriously, over twenty. I don't know if people think they're clever to set up camp there, but its a great place to steal shit. One time i even found some scripted ammo crates there. Vehicles, also. All your base....

my fav spawn is still cherno-elektro, but not for the reason you think. I hike up golova mountain, there are always camps there to loot

I wandered to the top of the mountain in cape golova, next to elektro, and happened upon a hacker. He had a stack of crates next to him. I killed him (thats right i managed to kill him). I looked in the crates and every item in the game was there x50. I took everything i needed (nvg, ghillie, etc) then i left the server. Can i keep those?

i just bought a headset with a mic, but i'll be damned if i know how to use it. I don't know shit about computers, the only game i play on them is dayz. Would you kindly share your wisdom as to how I can make myself heard in chernarus, as I evaluate it will raise my chances of making friendlies by about 274%. Also, will everybody hear me on the server? because yesterday i was on a server where i could hear 2 people talking wherever i was. What should i do to make myself heard to only my surroundings? Thanks

does anyone know what happens, if say, you're low on blood, and go for a swim. Can you pass out and drown? or do you just float until you wake up?

it seems humanity makes human encounters somewhat more complex and amusing. I met three people today in about 3 hours played since morning. Only one ended badly. The first one was with an old man with a big beard in an elektro fire station. He had an AKM, i had a lee enfield. He was going down the stairs, i was going up the stairs. We looked at each other, presumably both nervous... Then i just said "carry on..." we both continued on our way. The next encounter was similar. The third one was with a towelhead. He had just spawned, but i think humanity carries on through death, so he was a towelhead. He saluted me. I saluted back. He started following me. I thought "oh ok then, but i wont be trusting a towelhead". After a while, i stopped to drink something. He stopped behind me. I noticed my stuff disappearing from my backpack. He was pickpocketting my shit. Typical towelhead move, i thought, so i shot him and grabbed back my stuff. Anyway, what im saying is i like the humanity thing. And never trust a towelhead

supermarkets, churches often spawn matches. I never have trouble finding them, but it always depends.
