I'm just running around for you guys to shoot me, thats the main reason i felt bad for the guy, normally i'm the one that is shot. And about the screwdriver, when you die as much as i do, you really are searching for ways of traveling across the island without having to sit behind your screen for 35 minutes. And like i said i die a lot so i run alot :) And you were right, i should have been shot in the face for my actions, but instead i killed him, my fcking first murder :) i really felt bad.

Try GB 500, its an "open" server, no password or whitelist needed. The server is very well managed by a couple of very dedicated admins. The hackin gon this server is brought down to a minimum, but if a hacker does fck up the server the admins will roll back for a couple of minutes and all people are happy again. Bandits will always be around, they are on this server too, but still i have managed to make friends with a lot of people. I'm now hooked up with some guys i just met on this server, and the first meeting was actually a firefight :) The guys i'm running with now are not bandits but they will kill treats, for instance yesterday we came across a crashed chopper and we saw somebody already there, we took shots at him but they were more or less ment to scare the guy away and make sure he didn't have any friends watching over him. We didn't kill him and we didn't chased him, after we were ready at the chopper we actually told him he could go in for the stuff we left. Understandable he didn't dare because he didn't trust us, but we were speaking the truth, we are not there to just blindly kill everybody. I just have a lot of fun on this server. It is a busy server and at night it is almost always full.

Backup should be done by MySQL, i have not yet done this myself, but there should be away to let MySQL take a snapshot every N minutes, so when things go titsup, you can just swap back to a backup of lets say 5 minutes ago. You just replace the database with a backed up one. Like i said, i have not done it myself, so i'm wildly guessing. P.S. this only is for PRIVATE hive server !

You start without a map! You have to find a map first to be able to look at it. Well weapons and gear are all around, sure there are some better places, but mostely the better places to loot are also the more dangerous places. One good tip i can give you is when you spawn at Kamenka, don't go to cherno or electro, instead go to zelonorsk and then airport. For the amount you have to run to cherno or electro, you better off just running north.

Join "GB 500" making friends is going quite well there. Last 3 days we have formed a group of 4, we all met true DIRECT CHANNEL communications. We have the best friendship ever now, we all met while shooting eachother :)

Q3) Yes this is an issue, if your just going to play with 1 or 2 friends all will be fine. You have to understand that when you host a server and you play a game on the same pc, the pc needs to be pretty heavy, but if you just try you know what you can do. First and most important advice i can give you is to BACKUP the whole arma directory before you start fooling around with this, in case of a major fck up you can just place your backup back. If you know how its done it can be done in 5 minutes, but the first time you just take your time. Go to the battle eye website and download the dll's manually, put them in the correct location(website will say) This might be an option, i had to do this once to get my stuff sorted.

You should be fine, however, Arma has always been a game that needs a lot of resources, especially CPU speed and Big graphics card.

The thing i have a problem with is the server hosters "selling" gear if you donate to them. I can understand you need funds for your server, but my opinion is that this destroys the idea of the game, this is getting to close to real life situations in which rich people can have everything they want and the poor players are double buttfckd. Also where is the survival idea, i don't think Rocket had this in mind, he was not planning on just building a new PvP game, he wanted to create a survival game. I'm not complaining about the PvP, but i think we should do everything we can to stay as close as possible to the original idea. In the time DayZ is up and running now, there have been 325.000 new PvP games released which will have everything a PvP dude wants, why would we want to alter DayZ slowly into an all out PvP game. My idea to fix the game is to make food really hard to find. I really like the idea of trying to find stuff, at this moment finding stuff is still way to easy. But we all should just be patient, i'm sure we will all be surprised when the stand alone will be released, i suspect we all will see some amazing things.

Yes you can set up your own personal server. Check the tunngle website for the files. It is easy as 1 2 3... Only this is, you will not be able to host a game for 50 people, or if your home connection is very good maybe, but you have to host the database too. Best is to have a dedicated machine to host from. You can host from your own machine and then just start your game on that machine too, you then just connect to yourself. This is the one i use, but maybe you better go for the Bliss one, its used by more people and it has some better tools for the server admin. https://github.com/P...-Private-Server Just download the whole repository and put into your arma2 folder, overwrite if needed. You can drop your stuff, but if the server restarts it will be gone. But you can just drop for a couple of minutes, i do it myself too.

The password is wrong, there is a config file somewhere for this, just remove the given password in there and replace with your own password. I'm not behind my game pc, i can't say what file, just find it.

Well you better contact an admin of that server, i myself am playing there too. If you stay in the lobby to long you will be "kicked", not banned, are you sure you are "banned" and is this ban local to that server or do you have a "global ban" ? I think it is a very good server, banned for staying to long in the lobby is not possible. If you are sure you didn't hack or cheat, you best change is to contact the server admin.

Perfect gun for silent zombie killing. Not so good for PvP

Old school, well you know the drill then, just download the whole fck and replace in your arma directory.
