Did you download the whole Pack(or repository) and copied it into the Arma2OA directory ? Are you starting the "@Start_server.bat" file ? If so what does the little popup window say while starting up ? All should work "out of the box" GREAT to hear it works. Now go into the "cfgDayZ" folder and open the "server.cfg" file, in here you can set the passwords and other fun settings for your server, for instance the name and welcome messages.

I think this version is the most easy for people who start learning the ropes of hosting. Also make sure you ALWAYS backup your original game directories first !!!!

Well, my first thought is that the database is not running. The error explains itself, you have no connection to the database, it is trying, but it can't find it. It is looking on 127.0.0.1, this should be fine if the database is also on that same physical machine, my guess is that the SQL server is not started. Is this setup on a dedicated server, or are you just trying to set it up at home, at your own PC ?

The solution maybe to the outside border parking of camps on Chernarus, Maybe a collection of islands from the old days of Operation Flashpoint. Then these boats can be used usefull too, maybe 1 or 2 aircraft carriers.... Just an idea :)

You need to buy Arma2 and Arma Operation Arrowhead, you need both games before you can play the DayZ MOD.

You are not able to "just" host a DayZ game like you would normally do for a Arma game. If you want to host your own DayZ server you also have to host the DataBase which is used to be able to play a DayZ game. Here is a link to maybe the most easy way to find out about how this DayZ hosting is working. Well i say BUY it. You are NOT buying the MOD, you are buying Arma2 and Arma2Operation arrowhead, This game needs to be in your collection, trust me, alot of people i play DayZ with are now also really loving playing Arma.

I'm not sure, but my quess is inside the database, there might be some "function" scripts handling this. Get navicat light or any other database tool and go into the database, find the functions. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST !!! :)

You have a private hive ban, NOT a global ban. It is an ADMIN BAN Just don't go to that server anymore, it seems the admin there does not like you :)

I was wondering why people are collecting like hamsters all the time. For instance, our "gang" have been busy for 2 hours to collect stuff, in that time they have killed a couple of bandits and actually everybody has everything again. Then we find a chopper, it takes 2 hours to get it fixed and get everybody at it at the airfield, they all come up to the chopper and i see they even have 2 SUV's. What do you think they want the chopper pilot to go and do ?? Well the little buggers want me to go and fly around and find other peoples camps for gear , WHAT THE FUCK, we have been playing for 4 hours and everybody is geared up with 2 sets of everything. I can not understand this human behaviour, what do want to do with all that stuff and vehicles, they just want to park it some where and don't touch it any more, they just want to collect to have it stolen again, most when we come back on the next day the camp has already been comprimised and the party is starting all over again :( I just want to have fun, i just want to do something with all that stuff instead of druling over it with a boner. It is almost all the same everywhere, find stuff for couple of hours and then start looking for more stuff for a couple of hours. So my question again is WHY ???????????? First thing i think of is that the server is not yet updated, or maybe the other way around, you are not updated. It is just a mismatch between server and you, just a DayZ version mismatch Get DayZ-Commander and to be sure sure, download the six updates suite, i think its called "Play with Six" I always use them both because sometimes dayzcommander is first with an update and sometimes sixupdater has the new updates first.

I'm not complaining, i have way to much fun with this game........But i'm also really waiting for Arma 3, DayZ made the waiting much more fun :)

I do not know what you mean, because Arma and Dayz go NOT together if you just want to play Arma. I myself do not have any problems with the latest patch for Arma and the latest version of Dayz. But if i want to play arma on its own, i have to make sure NO DayZ is loaded in any way.

Well your lucky to have such a nice spec PC. This is ARMA, you have to invest 3000 euro at least to play these games of BIS well. Your fine, your running it much better then most of us.

Yea why not change the game and have ALL guns and other toys from Arma, and then just call the game ARMA2.5........PFFFFFF

Nowadays this game is just a variant of any PvP game, most would be better off just play some amazing Arma DM. specially because some servers are now giving gear for donations to the server, so new spawns have all there gear and the PvP can start straight away :( (BAD THING) Even when i would donate, i don't want any starter gear, i still like the concept of the game and i still have lots of fun finding my stuff.

One thing i know for sure is that everybody will be shocked, and i am sure Rocket is doing the right thing. It will be a surviving game...........

refresh the database, i mean i presume you have a backup of the hive, just replace it. ( i presume you run a private hive )

I have made islands for Arma, and it is not possible to have underground terrain, you can use some tricks to make underground terrain, like making a mountain as an object, and then place that object on the island.
