There is a special Tool suite for Arma which you will need to get your model "addons" to work in arma : https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Tools Maybe this will give you an idea how to import and making these "addons" work in Arma. What i want to say is that i'm sure there are Arma/DayZ developers who love to get there hands on "free" new addons, which they can use to enhance the game experiance of Arma/DayZ. Well it seems your favorite server is now using the RMod for Dayz, you just have to download it from somewhere and you are all ok again :)

Running a server is serious work, you really have to commit to it. You have to be around 24/7, you have to be resistant against critics and other unpleasant players. You have to be fair, you can not misuse your powers You have to study the Arma engine to be able to understand what is legit and what is not. The problem with so many servers is as the same as when OFP came out with the Clans, there were more clans then players. But all this will NOT kill the MOD, it will actually make it only better, and i dare make a bet on what happens after the stand alone, the MOD will be bigger, willl be better and will be maintained for more years then the stand alone. The community made OFP and Arma, and the community will make the DayZ MOD. I once bought a game that was only payable when connected to there server, after a couple of years this company did not do a lot of work on there "old" game anymore, now after 10 years you can not even play the game multiplayer anymore, because the company stopped updating it. I trust the community better then those money making companies. Sure i'll try the stand alone, and maybe the first year it will be perfect with new stuff updated regular, but wait until BIS has different plans, the stand alone will be dead quick.

These files can be used just locally on your own machine, but you can also use these files to host a "real" dedicated server, just rent a server and pore all on there. ??? have you ever played a game of DayZ? Or Arma for that matter? I really do not understand your question. You have "bought" a server ??? You ment you are "renting" a server ? And your player name is not set yet...... Maybe you ment, you have just bought the game and when ever you connect to a server it says your character name is "player name" Is this what you ment ?

Good plan, if you can get help, its maybe better, i'm not familiar with your database structure. But still, the 2 tables are found. The "vehicle" table just houses all vehicles that can be spawn, they are all just 1 time in that table, you don't have to change anything exept the "limit_Max", but here comes the trick, for insance if you have "limit_max" for a "UH1 helicopter" at 5, then the table called "instance_vehicle" needs to have 5 entries for a "UH1", they all have to have a different "world coordenates". Lets find the script that does the spawning now, just have a good look trueout the database and see if you can find anything like this: It will NOT be the same, but maybe you can find something like it . PS: Is this an "official Hive" server ? What are those V_* files ?

Ok, the last picture is indeed what at my end is called "objects_spawn" here is an overview of my database, please note that there are more tables then used in my database because i'm also testing version 1.7.5 Uploaded with ImageShack.us So it seems your "instance_vehicle" is as my "Object_spawn", this table needs to have at least 100 entries when you want to spawn 100 vehicle, every vehicle has its own spawn location( you can't just spawn 2 choppers on the same coordenates) So we now only need to find the little script that spawns the stuff. Actually, there is one more table that needs to be altered, for me it is called "object_classes", see picture, we need to edit the amount of each vehicle that can spawn. "MaxNum" its called in my table. Your table will probably be "vehicles", just see if it looks like my table(again, there might be some small differences) Again, we now only need to find the script ........

There is a TAB on that picture called "routines", whats under there ? It looks you are using a different database then i am. I'm using NaviCatLite for interacting with the database. Whats in the table "instance_vehicles" ? So it might just be that things are differently named in this database, we just have to figure out how :)

This is not the correct location you are looking in, this is the default SQL stuff. You should look for the procedure "PMain" it should look some like this : But this is not all !!!! If you want 100 vehicles to spawn, all these vehicles need to be in the database too, this is done in the "object_spawn" TABLE, every spawnpoint needs to be in there. Sample of "object_spawn" Table SQL : So again, if you want to spawn 100 vehicles you need to change the "PMain" procedure to spawn 100 times and you have to have at least 100 entries in the "object_spawn" Table

Ok so dayzcommander says all is up to date ? If so it is weird, are you able to play "regular" dayz ? If so, it might just be that most taviana servers use updated/edited files, are you able to find a website of one of these taviana servers, i mean do they have an active admin, can you ask them what version they are using ? Again if you are able to play regular dayz and dayzcommander says all is up to date, it must be the servers you try to connect to. I'm not at home behind my game pc, otherwise i would have tryed the servers you are trying to connect to. Maybe just for giggles, try downloading a different map for dayz, for instance try the Panthere version of dayz, see if you have simular problems on a different map.

First make sure you are able to play regular arma, make sure the game works and you are up to date patch wise. Download "play with six" or " dayzcommander" These applications can update your games and download and update the dayz stuff. Also true these applications you can find servers.

OOps sorry Weird, any error message ? Are you using the correct beta version (patch version ) How do you start your game ? How do you find a server ?

Make sure you are able to play Arma2 standalone, update it to the latest patches. Make sure you are able to play Arma2 Operation arrowhead as stand alone, update it with all latest patches. Install Dayz true manual install or one of the two programs able to help you with it( "play with six" or "dayzcommander" Find a server true one of these programs and double click it and see what happens. NOTE: NEVER DELETE FILES THAT SHOW UP FOR DELETE WHEN CONNECTING TO A SERVER, if you connect to a server and you get an error message saying you need to delete files, you just have to deactivate them NOT DELETE ! make sure the paths for the games and mod folder are correct in the "play with six" application.( for the dvd version all goes to : C:\program files\bohemia interactive\Arma2) With the DVD version all will be installed in ONE directory : C:\program files\bohemia interactive\arma2 With the Steam version all will be installed into there own directory : C:\ program files\steamshit\commonfiles\arma2 (for the arma2 game) C:\program files\steamshit\common\arma operation arrow head (for the armaoa game) When using the steam version the path in "play with six" for the MOD's needs to point to one of these directories NEVER DELETE FILES !!! If you connect to a server and you get an error message saying you have to delete files it actually means you have to "deactivate " these addons(files)

When connecting to a server you get this message about deleting files yes ? This means you are loading different/other files then the server has loaded up. DO NOT REMOVE THESE FILES !!!!!!!! You just have to make sure you are not loading wrong files when connecting to a server. First make sure your Arma2 game is working stand alone, make sure you play a game or two. Make sure you update it to the latest patch version. Then make sure ArmaOA is working and updated. Now install the Dayz mod ( this is just a folder with some files inside of it) you can just download it from this website and manually place the @DayZ folder into the root directory of arma2 Now use "play with six" or "dayzcommander" DO NOT REMOVE THESE FILES !!!!!!!! DO NOT REMOVE THESE FILES !!!!!!!! DO NOT REMOVE THESE FILES !!!!!!!! you are just trying to connect to server with more or different addon files loaded up, to fix this you have to make sure you are NOT loading these files, this is NOT done by just deleting them(maybe other servers need you to have these files) There are different ways of activating addons, one way is to start your game and on the main screen there is an option called"expansions", go in here and make sure the correct ones are ticked and the NOT correct ones are unticked. (i'm sorry i have it not infront of me) I think you have to thick : * arma2 * arma2 oa * arma2 baf lite * arma2 pmc lite * Dayz another way is by adding startup parameters to the startup shortcut, but since most people use "play with six" or "dayzcommander" this is not used that much anymore.

Best friendships came after shooting eachother :) Just luck i guess, running into somebody who wants to team up. Make sure you have a microphone and make sure you are on "direct channel" for chat, talk to people, there voice will say alot about the person. I once had a guy beeing way to friendly and i just didn't go near him because of that, and i was right he was a bandit and tryed to lure people in with his false sounding voice. One of my best game mates i meet true gunfire, this person was sneaking up on me from behind, i did hear something and turned around emptying my stanag, i was tho as blind as a bat and didn't have any idea what i was shooting at, then suddenly the guy yelling, friendly, friendly, while hiding behind a tree. We are now friends for life :) One good tip, don't be afraid to die!
