Have you been able to play the game of Arma after you installed it ? What does the first screen when started the game says what version of the game you are running ? Did you downloaded the latest official updates for the game ? What startup parameter are you using in your startup shortcut for the game when starting it ? This is mine : "D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -showScriptErrors "-name=Allie" "-mod=expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion;@DayZ" Do you have SixUpdater ? Lets see, did you buy the game of steam or do you have it on CD ? Find this location of the main arma directory on you computer. As you can see i have alot of MOD folders which you will not have, all the @... folders are arma mods, see my way of backing up the old days versions ? This way you can allways go back if needed.

Your bisign keys go into the KEYS folder in the root directory of Arma2. If you use sixupdater then make sure that when you update you also update the bisign key files update

I love it, had it once, weeks back, i hope its back and working now. Yes you need to get warm too, need a fire or get indoors and use heatpacks. But indeed, it seems humanity is back and you will need antibiotics indeed, very rare find indeed. Don't have them at the moment, only place i found them was hospitals Good luck mate with beeing sick :)

Did you buy 2 games , with 2 different cd/installation keys

I hoped to see more "basebuilding" , so jobs have to be given out to defend the base, outside base loot trips, etc. Players more loyal to there own servers, able to have sort of overlap with players from around the world who all together try to maintain stability inside safe bases around on the map, multiple clans running the bases on one server. Some safebases will house bandit gangs, others are builders and peacfull. I hoped so much but it will probably never happen.

Lets wait and see what happens, I hoped that maybe people start to teamup and start holding city's and other interesting places, i hoped on more usage of the ingame voice system, the Mod maker should see how to fix a teamup "_Unit JoinGroup" system. hope to see bigger playfields, maybe a collection of big islands, and i hope to see 100 slot servers :)

Getting shot and you are bleeding, this simply means that you should have stayed in the game. Disconnecting on that particular moment is in my eyes a sort of cheating ... There will always be a discussion on when it is alowed to disconnect and when not, but in this particular situation it is your own fault :)

I don't know what it is, but have you noticed the amount of movies and themes based on zombies. But yes i think about it alot too :) Since the download takes 14 days.... i have nothing else to do then write on this forum. Isn't it amazing how this game, and the whole movie serie sets you to think about it, and what philosofical thinking goes true your head during such times. The whole bandit situation, would it be so in real life, i think so yes. What would b the best strategy ? good question, depends on your location i think. Woodland might be the best place to be, but do you want ocean or mountains, or both, cold warm. What about city like locations, be smart with your food, stay at easy to defend area or building ? Weapons, difficult depend on your situation, whats at hand whats to get.... Shh t ..... Howlong until technology alow us to have servers with 1000 players, can this game be used to predict human behavior ?!? :) Admins beeing able to "overview" what happens when particular "things"/objects are added to the game, what are humans do? Everybody knows there are heavy long range sniper riffles around, what are people doing with them, how many go for such a gun ? Oh man i can make myself crazy thinking about the posibilities ( with all this cool OpenSource Like OFP/Arma "Compiler/Tools" ) Going back to read some else now :)

The game really needs CPU speed for framerate improvement. For every new version of BIS's OFP/Arma i had to buy a new PC of a couple of K's. So when ArmaIII comes out i'm going to buy a new PC again :) Also the "island" charnarus is the most laggy "island" we had for Arma :(

Reinstall best option. Make sure everything is removed before starting the install. First instal Arma2, update this game with all the official patches, then play a test mission before going to the next install. Second install Operation Arrowhead, update that game with all official patches, play the game before move on. Download the Dayz mod and place it in the correct location, if you install sixupdater it will install dayz for you, bit tricky to figure out sixupdater, but if you know it it will be very easy, it can create a nice startup desktop shortcut for you too. Hope this will work, i'm nervous about the shader error tho, is your machine capable of playing this game ?

Arma/Dayz really likes CPU speed, so 1.8 is really low. Also the game needs a big graphics card. But you should be able to play on low settings.

You do not have to reinstall your game to be able to play regular arma ! You should just have disabled the dayz mod. Figure out the six updater and learn how to make a PRESET (im going to bed no time to explain) read the sixupdater manual on there page. Maybe deinstall the whole lott one more time and set it up right this time, make sure all is removed from your pc before you start to install from scratch. Make sure to download all official updates for the game from the official site or Steam if that is your thing, i dont have the game of steam. Then back to sixupdater, check the "right click" commands over your PRESETS ! options to update and to create a desktop shortcut with the correct startup parimeters. Im off now, good luck

You guys are just to quick, server say they run 1.7.2.5, but they actual stil run 1.7.2.4

Must be a battle eye problem. If it is not responding that is the problem, when it responds it should update to 1.168. You say you have been in the game once, With version 1.7.2.4 ? Some servers for me seem not to work either, but i now know of some servers that DO work for me.

Trust me, in real life the situation will not be that different then whats happening in this game. What if you are hungry and you see somebody else eating..... A hungry man is a angry man !

Thats the biggest downfall of this mod implementation, and my personal idea about ithis is that this will kill the game in the end. OFP/Arma was so open, they are now beginning to hammer it closed, purely to make money i think. This is in my opinion a very negative thing. There are options tho for hosting your own hive and game, but i'm not allowed to point you to a website. Think Lingor island, go google and try find it out. Adjusting the dayz scripts is not that hard, setting up a privat server is not that hard either setting up a privat hive gets a bit more complicated but is doable too. I don't think its the way to go tho, maybe if you already have a succesfull clan and you have enough players to come to your server it might be interesting to alter scripts and have your own server, it does give you more control over who joins and who to ban from your server. My idea is that controling the hacking is more the responsability of a good server admin. In the old days we had the LOL clan (and more serious clan servers) who hosted a server very strickt, a lot of people did not come there because no fcking around was allowed, if you did fckd you were simple banned. There was ALLWAYS an active admin. We now have to many servers without good active admins, we now also have the sql injection problem which will always be a problem if you not have a constant active admin plugging holes behind the hackers his ass. Giving the power back to the community will in the end filter out all bad guys more sufficient then the way things are going now. This series of "open source" games by BIS are such a great learning tool for "would be" programmers, it would be such a shame if this will be lost in the new strategy they want to follow for making money. I know its the way technology is pushing us, i mean in a couple of years we will be playing on google earth, we will be playing on the whole world and surroundings, i do like the idea, but please BIS stick to the openness of your products, it helps so many people to be introduced into the world of programming and 3D world creation. It is that i lack the time, but this series of games is the only games i play on the pc, i'm completely not a computer gamer, but your product have made me a pc junkie anyway. I have as much fun playing the game solo, or multiplayer, and even trying to create new stuff for the game, like islands and new 3d object usable in the game. I hope you BIS guys read this and do see the power your product have that no other game or piece of software can give us, You are unique, keep it that way PLEASE......

I have a very big arma directory with a lot of edited pbo files. I do not have problems ! I just make sure i load the correct files and have the latest battle eye installed. I stay away from hacks cracks and other dirty trick stuff. I don't think battle eye makes a mistake, and if they there will be real complains and it will all be fixed. NEVER EVER GIVE OUT YOUR INSTALATION KEY !!!

A couple of days ago i saw alot of people with modified files picked up by battle eye. I know from arma that when you have a modified file and the Bisign file is not corresponding with the allowed PBO file something is stinking. You may have extracted the pbo file, altered some inside, and repack the file. I did see alot of people with the messages from battle eye, now i hear people are getting banned, must have to do with that then.

This was FUN, it was not atrap :) I have to indeed, tell also the good story that happens in this game then. I was getting quite bored with the game thought of browsing the forum and thought of reacting to some of the post, and this good story came from it. I was not that far off from the location Grodan was, i did have to travel to get there so that was an exciting journey. First i needed to get out of the town i was in, without to much of a fuss, had to dodge a couple of zombies, not that much trouble, also because the server is a night server at this moment. Then i needed to travel some pretty high traveled piece of forest, taking it slow, doing my 360 and doing my crazy ivy's, i made it, did run into a deerstand, but i was just able to fool the zombie in a christmas tree. How to proceed now, no communications and no idea where he was, i started to circle the town, after some quick forum treats we found each other, Now the hard part, can i trust the guy, hmm what to do, drop my good gear somewhere and go there with just the morphine, if he kills me he at least wont have any good thing off of me. Well im not doing anything use full in this game after about 2 hours, i thought what the hack lets just go in and give him the stuff, if we die i at least did try to help someone. It was a nice little adventure :)

MAY slow down vehicle creation >>>> is it a real problem ? "May" is not a hard fact Arma may sometimes give some sort of minor errors in logs
