Will there ever be proper bullet penetration in SA/mod?
Allie (DayZ) replied to Cheese Grinder's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Engine supports it, but since Dayz they have been fooling around with it until it was NOT realistic anymore :( -

New Server- Looking for experienced Tech admin to help serverside
Allie (DayZ) replied to grgthemighty's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I always respect people who jump in the ocean without knowing how to swim, you have to learn one way of the other. I would advice you to download one of these versions first :http://www.tunngle.net/community/topic/90991-dayz-private-server-files-pack-1744-all-current-maps-not-updated/ or https://github.com/R4Z0R49/DayZMod Then make a backup of your Arma/Dayz installation and start learning here first. It will teach you what is what and how it needs to be installed, you can fool around and learn what can be done and what can NOT be done. It will show you how the database is setup and how to manipulate it. I would love to help you out, but i do not have the time for it. Its all about instances....- 1 reply

NO STEAM FOR ME -
Can't get Steam version to work?!
Allie (DayZ) replied to smittyjaja's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
DayZ is a mod, you download arma2 and armaOA from steam, then u install dayzcommander and update and get dayz. Download and install Arma2 >>>> make sure you play at least one game, Download and install Arma2OA >>>> Play a game before going on, Download and install DayZCommander >>>> patch games and download dayz mod true dayzcommand. Done STEAM IS CRAP !!!!! try install arma2OA in the same directory as Arma2 (don't know if that is possible with steam, but that is the original way of installing the both games (ONE DIRECTORY, not mandotory) -
Do you have dayzcommander ? Can be your connection. Can be battleye Can be wrong/corrupt files Can be patches ... ... ...

You are trying to get to the "multiplayer editor" not the regular editor? Go multiplayer screen and on the left bottom there is a button called "NEW" press that and go on from there to the editor. And there is a 3D editor too, 1 game 3 editors :) Main menu and "alt" + "e" gives the 3d editor missions created in editor will be somewhere in your : /my documents/arma/yourname/mpmission

They should give all starters a rope and if you want to respawn you have to hang yourself first, your hanging body will stay there a while too :)

Go settings and make sure the path to your arma folder and mod folder are correct! That's your problem. Look on left side of page to the screenshots : http://www.dayzcommander.com/ settings >>>>> "game directories" !!!!!! MOD folder is just the ROOT arma directory, so it is the same as the game directory!

ehhhh, confused ???? What are you trying to do ?

Need Help Adding Buildings to Dayz.chernarus
Allie (DayZ) replied to Arlt's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
What map are you trying to edit ? You should just move the "mission1.chernarus from your MPMissions folder to the /mydocuments/arma2/yourname/mpmissions folder, now you can open up the mission in the "multiplayer" editor(not the normal editor) add some buildings and then move the "mission1.chernarus folder back to the MPMissions folder in your arma2 directory. All should now just be fine and you should be able to load the mission. Multiplayer editor is located on the multiplayer screen under the button called "NEW" left down corner. If you have never used it it is wise to just open it up and make a test mission, save it >> now you should have a MPMissions folder in your mydocuments/arma/yourname.... directory !!! You should not save or repack the edited mission ! Alternately you can manually edit the "mission.sqm" file inside the dayz mission folder, this is a bit harder but it works too. PS. this has nothing to do with the database, however there is also a way of adding new things true the database, but this is a completly different story.
