Windows 8 are not for PC's, tbh. I prefer Windows 7 over anything anyday. And nah, keep it simple, keep it running on Windows. Otherwise you'd have to port the engine, recompile all code, rewrite code.. Maybe later, just like TF2 for Mac.

Because the War Z dev. team promises alot of features and cool things that will be superior to DayZ. It's the first game their company will release as producers, and all they have given us is a hint on an open beta and some lousy "screenshots" (images made in 3rd-party software).

I believe that they'll use the mod as a guiena pig (sorry PETA) for major fixes and changes to see how game mechanics play out in action. It's a central server that keeps your characters location, debug information (blood, thirst, hunger, pain etc.) and equipment. This server is called the "Hive". If you wish to restart without the restart having any effect on your currently existing character, you'd need to join a server without "Hive" as an expansion in the server browser (keep in mind, that server is the only one that saves your character, you will not be able to move it or access it on other servers).

I wouldn't mind if they "cleaned up" the hive with every major patch that is released (to avoid gear differences and such, the M1911 and revolver for example). But otherwise, no.

Yes. "Spawnkilling" as you call it is a legit way of death in DayZ. Logging out in the barracks is stupid and only done by server-hoppers.

You logged out in an obvious server-hop spot (NW airfield). It's very insecure, choose a safe place to log out or die when logging in. You server hopped, and you got banned for it.

Is it possible to remove the dead soldiers from your computer, making them "invisible"? I know this is "cheating", but as for now, I'd rather "cheat" than stare at my desktop background in windows. I mean, some people remove trees, grass and even in some cases, houses, to see other players better (using it as an advantage during PvP), but removing the corpses for now is something I'm actually considering.

You actually stop bleeding. My friends got stuck in Kabanino with a UAZ in 1.7.2.3. The thing exploded = forced me to run 1000m to save their lives with seconds to spare. One of my friends were stuck under the UAZ, so I had to go prone and drag him out. My bone broke, but I managed to save him and apply some bandages. I fix my leg, drag them both inside and log out for the day with a laugh. I boot up in 1.7.2.4, thinking "Well, I don't need anything more.. Boring. Lets kill some Zeds for the fun of it" I wasted approximately 9 magazines of MP5SD6 and 6 magazines 30rnd STANAG. Suddenly, Mike Tyson approaches me and slaps my shit, leaving me unconcious and bleeding for a few seconds. I get up, spray half a magazine into him so that I may lick my wounds in peace. Hey, whadd'ya know? No bandages left. So, I run around Kabanino feeling like Forrest Gump consuming beans and sardines to keep my blood at a non-lethal level, desperately looking for a bandage. I run out of beans and sardines and I reach a lethal level of blood. I accepted my fate. I wasn't going to live another day. I put a bullet in everything that moved, nothing were to survive me. At 2000 blood, my "trustworthy" M1911 had nothing left to consume. I sat down under a tree to meditate. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. ... I open my eyes, still left with 2000 blood. My wound has been mended with time. I leave the ground in rejoice, as I survived death. Nothing could stop me now. I leave the forest, about to enter a residential building to find consumables. Alright, I want you to take a really deep breath. Done it? It's easy for a while, but soon it will become hard for you to keep that air in, due to the loss of oxygen in it. Alright, breathe out. Now, breathe out as much as you can, until there's no tomorrow. Done that? Now, as you might be able to understand, it is much harder for you to be without fresh air the same amount of time as when you actually had oxygen in your lunges. This is what happens when you loose enough blood. There is no oxygen in your brain, at all.

Our blood exists in our bodies to transport oxygen and other nessecary support to our limbs and organs. If the blood stops for a mere moment, or extreme losses of blood occur, you're dead and nothing can be done about it. Without oxygen flowing to your brain, you'd be dead in a minute. Make sure that the server runs the expansion "@hive, @beta and @DayZ" before joining a server. Without "@hive" enabled, you will not play on your central character, instead on that servers private server.

If you know the distance to your target, change this little wheely thingy x amount of snaps and you should be near the dead-center. Just like we do it in-game. =)

Scratch that map, heli's spawn anywhere on the northern side of the map, close to a forest or in the middle of a field. Not close to or inside towns or villages. They're randomly generated, so a map will not help.
